I am a 60's year old married man with my wife and family
i am an Electronics "expert" I work for the National Weather service on weather instruments and am a HAM operator KA4ZEO. I love to talk to new people and learn something new. My wife Heather is a Activities/Concierge Associate an a local resort, so she knows what and where the attractions are around or home. Heather, my wife says I need a disclaimer warning people that that I love to talk, so consider yourself warned.
There are 2 large and noisy dogs on run lines in the back yard by the house. I do not believe they would hurt anyone, but wait till I am there to introduce your self to them.
Have not found them yet. but I enjoy technology museums.
I live in Stephentown NY on the NY/MASS border, but work in Albany NY. My house is close to Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort
We have just got a new to us 2014 30 foot Winnebago class A. I have a Equinox that is set up to be toad, I am comfortable driving most places. I have a CDL A, so I know big trucks. .
Very pleasant and courteous couple who took the opportunity to visit a couple of area museums. We endorse them to all Boondocker hosts, and welcome a return visit at any time. Maybe the Porter Thermometer Museum (Onset, MA) next visit? Happy/Safe travels!
Very happy you chose to stay at our site and enjoyed the area. Feel free to come back anytime.
I only got to meet the husband as his wife had to leave early because of work. Had a pleasant talk, he is very knowledgeable of electronics, which has been his exciting career. Looking forward to a return visit from them. Safe travels and God bless.
These guys are "practicing for retirement" and though they could not stay as long as planned we enjoyed having them for the time that we did.
Nice chats,With these folks. They came and picked a spot set up and I believe they enjoyed your time here ,we had a couple quick conversations and he showed me some of the additions he has done to us motorhome and gave me some ideas which is great I ,love to learn had a good time with them ,you will too ,excellent Boondockers.
No problem finding this sweet farm in the hills. Quiet night next to the barn. I loved the fowl and the area to walk my dog. Host was gracious and kind. Stay here.
As a first time guest, I couldn’t ask for a nicer host - very welcoming, has a lovely location, was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating!
Beautiful area, close to the Hudson River. Great views everywhere. Very welcoming hosts, good facilitiy, a little tight but manageable for big rigs (I'm 39' with a tow). I would not hesitate to ask to stay again and would certainly welcome them to visit me.
The hosts were not at home so I appreciate still being able to stay the night!
We had a great stay! Lots of good ideas for things to see in the area. Spent a day leaf peeping in the Berkshires. Hosts were fantastic, even suggested we stay an e tea night due to high winds on our travel route. Great spot, highly recommend.
We were delighted to be staying on a small farm after seeing many farms from afar on our cross-country drive. NY+MA were very accommodating hosts as were their adult children, who introduced us to a number of the small farm animals. Our plan to take a tromp through their woods, resplendent in fall color, was dashed by a drought-busting rainstorm, though. The place was lovely in the rain, too! We enjoyed their hospitality as well as the beautiful rural location.
We had such an awesome time at NY+MA! We got to see their animals and play with their dogs. Our kids super enjoyed the tree swing and the smores supplies and popcorn they gifted us. We would love to stay with them again and hope to see them someday out on the road.
Hosts were great, very accommodating. Gadget man strikes again. He helped me with a few things on my route, definitely appreciate his time
Great stay! Brett is a friendly and interesting guy with plenty of good information. We look forward to seeing him again.
The host and neighbors have mowed deep into the land so that in good weather you can back all the way back and kind of hide away from the public. You are quite a bit of distant from any of the neighbors' houses. We also took the whole family and dogs on leash into the forest and had two really good walks! We love this BW spot! Gorgeous sunsets!
It is a wonderful hobby Farm, goats chickens Ducks, you name it. The host was extremely kind and had excellent advice for a first-time boondocker like me!
The area is gorgeous!!
NY+MA are very accommodating and helpful. It's quite quiet and nice to be surrounded by fields and have chickens, goats, and ducks nearby. We recommend this spot to anyone. Definitely go grab some ice cream at Gardner's right down the road!
The hosts were away, but you would have never known. They were so helpful with sites in the area, parking information on licensing as well as going above and beyond to make our first Boondocking experience memorable and perhaps even spoiled us for future stays.
Their adult children were there and let us meet the animals and "help" clean up. Penny, Pickles, Levi and Gigantor all because our pals. Our boys loved it and within a 20 minute scenic drive to Mt Greylock, we are huge fans!
Also, there is a great one stop shopping spot within miles from the farm called Dave's.
We would LOVE to stay here again and definatly buy some eggs before leaving. We didn't get to catch them when we left but hope they had a wonderful time as well.
Nice spot in a peaceful farming community. While we didn't get to meet our hosts, they were so helpful: allowed us to top off our water and directed us to an area to exercise the dogs. Enjoyed visiting the Heritage Center too!
We enjoyed our first experience using Boondockers Welcome. Our host was very welcoming and helpful and we were able to utilize the trails behind the house to exercise our dog. We are thankful for the hospitality!
This was my family's first BW stay! They were welcoming, kind, and generous. A great start to a big road trip!
This place was amazing. Very easy to find, all the roads leading to it are easily accessible and the spot itself was very easy to back in. Plenty of room to pull forward and line it up so youre basically backing straight in. Plenty of space in the yard. For slides or awnings.
Our host was amazing. Not only did he hook us up to water, wifi, and power, but he had chickens and ducks that my wife got to feed and play with. He even gave us some duck eggs.
We were just passing through so we only stayed the one night but If we are ever in the albany area again we will definitely try and stay again.
Enjoyed our night. Great, easy location to get to and out of. Welcoming and helpful.
We had an enjoyable visit with our hosts discussing a whole variety of subjects.
Enjoyed the chickens and ducks and had a very sound nights sleep.
Surrounding countryside is beautiful rolling hills, forests old cemeteries.
This was our first Boondockers Welcome location and we could not have been made more welcome! NY+MA was so helpful with allowing us to borrow tools to complete the wiring from our batteries to inverter, gave us fresh eggs and fresh water on our way out, even offered us a chicken. We wish we could have stayed longer, but we were just passing through this area pretty quick. Thank you so much!!!
We loved our second stay here. Filled with information and the kids loved the water play and meeting the chickens! Thanks again for another wonderful stay!
We traveled to the area for a less than happy reason, to visit a family member who was gravely ill. Our hosts were incredible: they were generous with assisting us with parking, and provided us with way more than we expected—30 amp power, water, assistance with our faulty hose connection, offers to use a power washer, and farm fresh eggs! Most of all, we appreciated a kind, safe space to come home to each evening after spending long days at the hospital. We 100% would recommend this unique, special location. This kind of experience is why we joined Boondockers Welcome.
We stopped at the farm for a short overnight. Not only did they offer their spot, but gave us a ton of eggs from their happy free range chickens and ducks. After we left, they even reached out to us in message to share some important information we needed for our RV. Never expected it, but they went above and beyond. We really appreciate y'all. Happy travels!
We have a lovely quiet evening with Horses and Hunting. Being nearer the road we thought it would be noisy but it turned out to be the best nights sleep. Even the rooster was crowing softly in the morning.
Thank you for a wonderful stay. Great chats were had and we did a lot of discovering in the area. We hope that you get to travel as you plan........so see you soon.
They were helpful and gracious hosts. He wasn't home when we arrived, but swung by to check on us when he got back (we stayed in the back property), and in the morning there were a dozen fresh eggs waiting for us that he had dropped off before heading to work. We only stayed one night, but would definitely stay again!
We had a nice nights rest after skiing, and in the morning we received some farm fresh eggs! Thanks so much we look forward for future visits.
Brett was a great host and a nice quiet country location to stay. Also gave me some farm fresh eggs to enjoy back home! Hope to visit there again soon
I’m very new to this site and boondocking and staying here made it one of my most excellent first times boondocking! I just needed a place to stay the night on my way through and the hosts were more than accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure I was settled, comfortable, and warm when a lot of snow came through. I learned more about power and electricity and some tips moving forward from the host that I’m very thankful for.
They even offered to let me use their snow shoes to explore their acreage which I would’ve loved to do if I’d had more time here. I did spend a few moments watching their beautiful chickens play around. I would definitely stay here again, maybe in the summer instead, and I highly recommend this place to others!
Thank you very much!
Even though they were in major outdoor renovation mode B made sure we had water and electricity. Very accommodating and friendly. Great host.
We had the privilege to be the first to stay at this new host location. The host and his family were very welcoming. Our girls enjoyed chasing the chickens, ducks and roosters around the property and we even had the opportunity to try some fresh eggs. Back in is easy, right off the main road next to the coups. Water and electric were easy to hook up. We had an excellent time soaking in farm life and would stay again.
Even though a snow storm forced my family to cancel our trip. The host were so helpful with trying to set up everything for a nice time that we were really bummed we did not get to go.
However we are going to try again based on such a positive experience on that alone.
