We lived full-time in our RV in Colorado for the summers of 2017 & 2018. During the winters of 2016/2017 & 2017/2018, we lived in temporary housing while working as massage therapists in Breckenridge, Colorado. Now we are full-time RVers year-round while we write and make art to support ourselves.
As experienced boondockers, we spend most of our time on public lands. So we are very clean, quiet, courteous, and completely self-contained. We rarely need hookups and are looking to add a solar set-up soon so we won't need them at all!
We are friendly but like our alone time. We love nature and animals. We also love being outdoors (hiking and climbing are our favorite) and exploring new areas. And we enjoy meeting others who participate in the RV lifestyle!
Joyce is a writer and holistic health practitioner. Luke is an illustrator, digital artist, and pain management therapist.
We have one kitty, Snow the Mustache Cat, who is always with us. He is indoors only (unless we have him on his leash to enjoy some outdoor time).
We have spent a lot of time on public land in the Colorado mountains and have loved every minute. We recently discovered the Vedauwoo Recreation Area between Laramie and Cheyenne, Wyoming, and it is a new favorite. Before we had our RV, we spent a lot of time camping in northern California, Oregon, and Washington and will definitely be headed there again.
We have spent the past two-ish years in Breckenridge and Buena Vista, Colorado. Prior to that we were in Fort Collins, Colorado, for about 10 years. Before that, Luke lived in Colorado and Nebraska and Joyce lived in Arizona, Wyoming, California, Alaska, and Nebraska.
2012 Sportsmen Classic by KZ, 20.5 feet long, easily maneuvered, completely self-contained. 1999 Cadillac Escalade, good condition, 4-wheel drive.
OK, so the biggest problem with these guys, was their kindness and generosity. [I mean, which part of ‘Free Boondocking’ do they not understand?! ;-) ] They were excellent guests and we were flattered and happy they stayed longer to get their ‘money’s-worth’ out of our area. Excellent communication, quiet with minimal requirements. Welcome anytime!
Very nice and friendly couple would recommend them to any boondocking host
We were fortunate to be able to provide a place for the Cains to stay. We enjoyed getting acquainted, and would have liked to get to know them better - but our schedules did not match very well.
Would definitely look forward to having them visit again.
