Retired couple who enjoy traveling ourselves. We come and go on a whim. Enjoy boating, gardening, hiking, kayaking, fishing.
Husband is a retired police officer, and can fix about anything. He has worked with boats and motors a lot. I have greenhouse experience after managing for 25 years.
Had to put down our German Shepard Dog this year. She was 13 years old and had been on every trip we have taken. So we are dog - less for now.
30 foot 5th wheel with 2 slides. We pull with a 3/4 ton Chevy High Country.
Glad we had the chance to host this nice couple and hope they will return in the future. Enjoyed trading travel stories with them and hope to one day visit their area. Safe travels
We, “the hosts”, had to go out of town unexpectedly. Made arrangements for family to meet our guests and get them settled. Tooty2d communicated very well with me and family member to easily make their stay possible. Great guests by all accounts. We didn’t get to meet them but they’re welcome back anytime.
My wife Karen said, "Now what do these hosts get out of this?" She couldn't believe that people would be so accommodating and generous just because they're good folks. We were assured and guided from the moment we made the reservation. And Mrs tooty2d greeted us with a welcome pack and more helpful information. Mr tooty2d was concerned about the site because of all the rain they've gotten recently. So he moved us to another private location to take care of us. And then trucked down fresh water for us since we'd shown up empty.
Bonus!! We arrived right after they'd ordered a local pizza. So Mr tooty2d escorted me to the pizza shop and we got our own delicious pizza and some groceries too!
Thank you so much, and we'll be back if we ever pass through the area again....
Great hosts and the location was quiet and beautiful! Although it was rainy, they still had a great spot for us to park. They were friendly and helpful! We will gladly return for a longer stay when we are back in the area.
Very nice couple and had a pleasant overnight stay, despite the dismal weather. We would definitely stay her again!
Our friendly host provided us with a goodie bag with pertinent info for exploring the area and helped us park the rig. We appreciated having an electrical hookup.
This was our first stay using boondockerswelcome and I think the hospitality will be hard to beat! Such a wonderful couple and as nice as can be. They provided a goodie bag with local information and a couple much needed goodies. We had a nice talk and let them know we were planing on visiting some of the bourbon distilleries and later she even brought me the best bourbon trail map. It helped me get a full visual of the area and we used it all day long after we completed our stay.
We shared a couple stories and learned they were "Blessed" from the lord above and the view on the land with the rolling hills, sunset, sunrise were simply "Amazingness".
This is a lovely country location!!!
The hosts go out of their way to give you information about their area!
The veggies from the garden were a bonus!!!
Would definitely stay here again when in the area!
Lots to do! Mammoth Caves are a must see!! Louisville a very interesting city too!!
They greeted us as we came in, showed us where to park, and gave us a packet of visitor info for they area. Very nice couple. Their spot with electricity was already spoken for, and we didn't need electricity so they put us on a nice, level spot and it was perfect for our two day stay.
Had a great time here! Hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate to come my again. Recommended!!
We started for 3 nights as everything else in the area was booked for Labor Day weekend already. They were very welcoming and helped us get set up. Very beautiful property they have. Would visit again if needed.
We have had so many great visits with BW hosts and Tooty2d is prime example of what makes this such a great experience. This site is laid back, up on a beautiful rolling hill with a great view of the surrounding country side. They welcomed us as if we were family, which I feel now we are. Even though it rained most of the time of our stay, we still had a great time sitting and talking about all the things we had in common. We definitely will be back.
It truly is a little paradise being parked on top of the hill and overlooking the green hills of Kentucky. What an amazing view!
Our hosts went out of their way to make sure that we got parked and set up easily. We were also provided some brochures of things to see and do in the area. Thank you for that package of information.
By all means listen to their suggestions. We took the Jim Beam distillery tour, spent an afternoon at the Burnheim Arboretum and visited Nolin River Lake. There is a lot to see, and I wish we could have spent more time here.
A big thank you to our amazing hosts. Our hopes are that our paths will cross again some day. Come to Georgia and see us this winter!
We had a very warm welcome by our hosts and even got a gift, some local honey, what a nice and unexpected surprise.
We felt very comfortable and had a great stay at Hilltop Acres. We would stay there again if we happened to be in the area.
Thank you two again for your hospitality.
Good hosts. Very accommodating and helpful. Extra effort award goes to Ron for fixing our step!
This area is beautiful and quite. This hosts are very welcoming. There is a place/ long quite gravel road to walk your dogs as well.
The owner said she would show me other hiking places, but I didn’t get back in time. I was given a welcome packet with a great hand written map to Mammoth Caves. Thank goodness for this because my cell service zero. I had a really lovely time.
Thanks so much!
I would stay at hilltop again. They were very accommodating to us. It is a beautiful area to stay in as well.
Our stay with tooty2d didn't work out because of changes in travel plans but communications were timely and they are very friendly and ultra accommodating.
