Hello from Marc and Judy! We are lifelong New Englanders. Judy is a retired teacher and Marc is a self-employed tree guy trying to retire! We are fairly new to RV life and are loving it!
Marc is a carpenter, tree removal and firewood guy. Judy is a retired teacher and loves to write.
We live in a multigenerational household with my mom and my nephews who have an older chihuahua, Barley and a beagle mix, Rocky. We don’t travel with any pets.
We use truck stops, travel plazas, Walmart’s and some very interesting “Hey, this looks like a good spot” pull offs when we travel. Out west, the US Forest Service has recently become a fast favorite! You can find some really spectacular, secluded spots on the Forest Service roads!
We live in East Granby, CT. We are right on the Farmington Valley Rail to Trail bike path - part of the East Coast Greenway. Bring your bikes!

Marc and Judy stopped for a quick overnight stay, Quiet, respected our area and were on their way in the morning. Wish we had more time to get to know them.
Loved our stay. Had to cut it short due to some in coming snow. Located close to the Air Museum which my husband spend two days at. I enjoyed sewing curtains in peace.
Host had a campfire going each evening with friends and included us in this. Perfect hosts to stay with.
We had a great visit in rural Connecticut , where we came from Cape Cod for 2 days of glorious Fall biking. The Rails to Trails bike path is conveniently located right outside the driveway. We only got in the car to visit the local park with creek. Great hospitality! Thanks.
I just love Turkey Hill! This was our 2nd time boondocking with these wonderful host. The location is perfect- close to anything you need- groceries and so on. Beautiful private property- secluded enough so you can just sit back and relax. Just a short walk through the yard and you are on a beautiful paved nature trail that goes for miles. Our dogs absolutely love the area as it was full of wild life LOL. Family we met were very nice- made you feel at home. Can't wait to stay here again.
Marc and Judy were very welcoming and friendly. We spent a fun evening around the fire swapping stories, having a great time. Thanks for your hospitality!
We say "first stay", because we hope to return!!
We could not have been made to feel more welcome and comfortable. That was really appreciated.
Being right on an amazing and extensive bike trail was a good thing because it helped balance out how close (12 minute walk) the site is to a winery where we wined and dined each day.
Thank you again for hosting us. It was such a pleasure to be there.
We stayed only one night on our way to Augusta Maine and it was quiet and peaceful. We would definitely stay again if we’re in the area.
"Five Stars!" :). Deeply appreciate J & M opening their spot for us (and others) to stay. We were fairly busy connecting with our kids and friends in the area (we just moved out of this region in March as we hit the road full-time RVing), but had a couple loverly interactions/conversations with our hosts.
Thanks again!

We only stopped at Turkey Hill for one night as were on a mission to get to New Hampshire the next day. But we enjoyed our stay at Marc and Judy's Turkey Hill estate very much. They are so hospitable, and to prove that they allowed us to stay even while they were away on a trip of their own. Members of their family greeted us and helped us get situated. Marc & Judy, thanks so much for offering your lovely home for an overnight stay!
We were tired when we arrived. We were greeted with a warm welcome. Didn’t get a chance to socialize or explore the area as we had to get back on the road- would definitely recommend this host!!!
We had a nice visit at Turkey Hill. They have a nice peaceful place with easy access to a bike path and they let us borrow their bikes! We enjoyed listening to some barred owls at night.
M&J were great hosts. They weren't able to be there when we arrived but let us know where to go. Having a 36' travel trailer and Nissan Titan as our tow vehicle did make turning around at the end of the driveway a bit tricky but we got in, got settled and were able to get a great nights rest. Their location was nice & quiet and tucked away far from the road.
We traveled back to New England to visit some family and friends and this was such a great spot to park and relax for a few days! Marc-and-Judy were off on their own adventure, but were still very welcoming and helpful, even long distance. Their family welcomed us and made sure we were all set.
Thanks for a great visit!
We lived in CT for 17 years, and were passing thru to see former neighbors and some good friends. The location was perfect and we were also able to fill our tank with water for the stay. Would certainly stay there again anytime we are passing thru!
These hosts are first class! They were away on their own trip so we communicated online and they were quick to respond. They even sent us a flyer with details including how to enjoy the terrific, paved hike/bike trail adjacent to their property.
Google Directions is screwy as it sent us to their neighbors 3 doors away, but the host directions clarified nicely.
Thank you Marc and Judy for making your lovely spot available for us. The access to the Farmington Canal Rail Trail was great - the new path you made is excellent!
The location is very convenient, quiet and secluded at the end of a long driveway surrounded by forest.
The family was so kind to allow us use of electric and WiFi.
I only wished we had stayed for 5 days because there was so much to do in our visit to CT we couldn’t do it all.

It’s a good excuse to come back later /)
Marc and Judy were helpful in proving information before our arrival. They were away on a trip but had family help us out. Easy access to the area and enough space to turn our 34.5 ft 5th wheel around. The electric service was greatly appreciated as it dropped into the low 20's during 2 nights of our stay. They have a path from their property on to the rail trail and one morning we managed to squeeze in a lovely walk. Jim and I were attending a dance workshop weekend in Windsor Locks and and also vising with family and friends. This was a perfect location.
Would have love to me Mark and Judy. Maybe in the future we can!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Turkey Hill. Upon our arrival in the early evening, they were sitting down to dinner and invited us to join them. They offered an electrical connection to use if we wished as well as access to their WiFi connection.
The bike path right behind their house was very convenient for us to walk our dogs. If your in the area, we would certainly suggest reaching out to Turkey Hill.
We had a great stay! Marc was so nice and welcoming. We got a chance to see Hartford and walk on the bike-path during our short visit.
Large turnaround drive. Great couple. We enjoy a safe place for a night.
Fall color's were wonderfull , quiet place close to Hartford we went to Mark Twain House. Host was very helpful
Due to an unforeseen breakdown, we were not able to come in on the day we were supposed to. I kept them informed and we were able to come in the next day. We had plans to go meet friends in New Haven, so couldn't visit long. No problems parking and easy turn around. Nearby bike trail. Definitely recommend and would stay again.
We had a great time staying at Turkey Hill! The kids LOVED the bike path and the swing - they wanted to stay "100 days" but we had to move on - lol. It was a great location to explore Springfield, MA (we loved the Dr. Seuss Museum) and we also made a trip up to Amherst to visit the Eric Carle Museum. There are also beautiful parks nearby - and the bike path could not be closer!
Very gracious for the hospitality!!
Thanks!!
We loved staying at Turkey Hill! The hosts were helpful getting us turned around into the spot and then invited us over to the fire for happy hour. It's a quiet and fun location with lots of great stories told around the fire. We enjoyed the bike path and the hosts allowed us to use one of their fun two-seater bikes. Tons to see and do in the area as well.
We spent one night tucked away on a quiet driveway, next to a red barn where the owners' wood business is. Very friendly hosts and we were even greeted warmly by their relatives who stopped by. Highly recommend this spot!
Our hosts were wonderful! They invited us to dinner and drinks around the campfire. We so enjoyed getting to know them. Just a delightful time all around! They have a great location and are wonderful hosts!
I am so grateful for these hosts and there sharing of their space! It made it possible to break a long drive into two parts. They were super responsive and super kind. Thank you so, so much!
Bill St.Cyr
The place is nice and quiet. We didn’t get to meet the owner but Elliot was super nice and friendly. We would stay again when we are in the area. Thank you for having us. ❤️
Nice location near some great history. Our hosts were off on an adventure but a relative got us settled in. Enjoyed our time here and seeing the history of the area. Thank so much! Doug and Linda
Although our hosts were away when we arrived, they had their nephew meet us and get us settled. They have left us an information sheet with the details of Turkey Hill and local attractions. A beautiful place in Connecticut that we have not explored. Hope to meet our hosts on the road in the future.
I didn't get to meet Mark and Judy because they are on their own adventures but they were very helpful and easy to contact. I had a great time sharing a few drinks with their family!
Good time sharing stories of adventures and plans for upcoming trips.
Nice interesting hosts and friends. Quiet and peaceful overnight.
These guys were so accommodating! They have a great little place with 20amp electricity if you need it and you may even catch them on a night they have a fire going in the fire pit. I enjoyed visiting them and their family around that one night.
They also have a really neat bicycle path that runs beside their house that goes a long way! If you have time and are a bicyclist, you will love it.
Thank you so much for all of your hospitality and for giving us a great, safe place to stay!
One of the family.. that’s exactly how I felt on my Saturday night overnight stay at Turkey Hill with Marc and Judy ..I was invited to a barbecue right after they set me up with electricity and I met a bunch of great people and we did some interesting things… One of Marc’s friends came over and dug a trench with a bobcat to lay some wire for a 30 amp switch for their Winnebago van… everyone pitched in as best they could and had a lovely dinner and I went to bed early because I was very tired and left before everybody got up.. I had a great stay with some great people… Thanks so much again
We had a great evening enjoying a campfire with our hosts and sharing stories and listening to music. We stayed two nights and really enjoyed the area, but the best part was our kind hosts!
We had the most incredible experience at Turkey Hills. Marc and Judy have a magnetic personality and a home where people come for miles to be near them. Our only downfall was that we had to keep moving on our journey. Absolutely a host to remember.
Marc and Judy were wonderful hosts and made our stay a memorable one. We were greeted on arrival with a glass of wine and a roaring outdoor fire on the patio. We were kindly loaned some different styles of bikes to try including twin bikes and a trike and rode the adjacent trail to the cafe and had a delicious lunch. We were invited to share delicious clams and had great chats. We had a relaxing stay and thank you again Marc and Judy for making us feel so welcome.
They welcomed us upon arrival and were very nice. Beautiful property! Marc’s garage is a mans dream workshop. And Judy let us borrow a tandem bike to ride the trail. We had a great time. Weather was crappy but we did get to enjoy it before the rain came in. Can’t thank them enough!
We enjoyed our stay with Marc (Judy was away in their RV with her Mom). We had an interesting evening socializing with his friends and enjoyed the Swedish Candle fire!
It was a very peaceful place and we really enjoy that it's very near Hartford and New Brittain. Our host took care of us.
Although our hosts were not home during our stay they kept reaching out to us to see if there was anything we needed and their extended family were very welcoming.
The spot was spacious and peaceful and we had no trouble getting in or out. We found a great place to eat close by and enjoyed the peacefulness.
Had a wonderful night at Turkey Hill! They were gracious enough to loan us their double recumbent bike to take on the rails to trails path next to their property. Then they invited us to a barbecue and bonfire where we got to sit and talk to them about our lives and travels. We met J's mother who was a sweetheart! Would highly recommend a visit to Turkey Hill!
Host graciously allowed us to park in their driveway while we explored the Farmington bike path which is adjacent to their property. Great location!
