Our family has been RVing since 2015. We started out with a travel trailer and after 3 years of RVing we knew we loved it. We since have upgraded to a 5th wheel in the anticipation that my wife and I will one day RV full time.
Our family enjoys camping at local state parks typically one weekend a month. We camp all year around because of our mild winter climate here in Southwest Louisiana.
I'm a retired Army Veteran working full time as a military contractor at a local Army installation. My wife works full time as an administrative assistant at our local community hospital. Our youngest daughter is still in school so we are not empty-nesters yet. Once she graduates and heads off to college or some other adventure in her life; we plan to start ours by full timing during the hot summer months up north where it is much cooler and more pleasant.
We have three dogs, a female Dachshund who we rescued at 4 years old, a male Peekapoo, and a female Terrier mix we rescued at 5 months.
My hometown is Reeves, LA and my wife's is Lake Arthur, LA but we have been in DeRidder since 2000. My work brought me here.
Our host were most accommodating especially since it was Thanksgiving. Host has a man cave to be envied!
We’ll find out way back here again!
Although their was assistance offered, and it was a lovely home, it was clear that it was not a comfortable visit. I felt like I was in the way, a bother and unwelcome. After the first set up, there was absolutely no interaction or feeling that they cared to interact. It's the earliest I've ever left a place.
Comfortable and easy parking. A welcoming host as well. Everything a camper wants. I would stay again.
Cav was very nice and hospitable! He offered us a cold beverage as soon as we arrived, and we really enjoyed getting to know him! He gave us lots of travel tips and advice!
We really appreciate him letting us hook up to his 30amp electric so we could run the AC and keep our animals comfortable in this Louisiana heat :) Definitely would recommend this stop to anyone passing through the area in the future. Thanks for a great stay!!
Wonderful place with nice people, we had a good time chatting and watching the army airplanes!
We had our water pump break while we were there but a nearby camping store helped us with a replacement. Very Friendly town.
Thanks again come visit us in Colorado when you start your travels!
One of the most welcoming people we’ve met on our trip. Nice, quiet, and safe little town with a gas station close by. Will DEFINITELY be stopping by again the next time we’re in the area! Thanks, Cav!!!
Pleasant environment, The moon was a sliver. New.
I enjoyed the serenity.
Will return if they’ll have me.
