I enjoy traveling with my husband in our '78 GMC motorhome about 4 months a year. We belong to several RV clubs and like to attend the RV rallies and go site seeing in the area. When not traveling we live on 20 acres in Oregon about 25 miles west of Portland. We used to farm but now just enjoy the country. I have the good fortune to have family close by. Son and daughter-in-law on one side and brother and his family on the other.
I'm a pretty fair cook and a good navigator/map reader but can't see how that will help anyone but my husband. He is good with the computer.
We have found some great 'country' boondocking places in eastern Oregon, Arizona, New Mexico. In Ca. we have used mostly WalMart and rest stops.
We boondocked along Hwy. 50 in Nevada and some great spots in Utah. About the only time we don't boondock is at RV rallies and when camping with friends.
We have a 1978 GMC motorhome. Eleganza model, 26 ft. class A. Practically an antique. It's a little like owning a classic/vintage car. We belong to a GMC club where they talk mostly about how to keep this 35 yr old vehicle on the road. The guys love it. I love it's compact size even though we look like a midget next to the big boys on the road today. They were top of the line in their day and they still attract a lot of attention where ever we go.
Linda was very accommodating and prompt in her replies to me. My travel plans changed due to the unusually hot temperatures in Linda's area, so I did not get the opportunity to meet her in person. She totally understood when I had to cancel boondocking on her property. I hope our paths can cross in the future!
