We luv living in the woods and enjoy sharing our little piece of heaven with others.
Pretty handy and have a good selection of toys & tools! Very knowledgeable of local sites &
What's going on in the area.

Haven't been out yet, but looking forward to giving it a try.

We have a truck camper and are usually, but not always towing a 7'.0 x 16'.0 utility trailer with an ATV / SxS.
This was our first Boondockers stay. We were very pleased. The hosts were very kind. I would love to stay here again sometime. It was close to the north shore which made for easy touring. Thank you.
We loved our stay here. It was peaceful and serene with great hosts. We loved the trails on our evening wal, enjoyed the starry night sky, and being close to some great hiking.
These guys helped us out coming and going! They were quick to respond and It was easy to access their property. We had plenty of space. Great to meet them and their other guests.
It was a real treat to stay here. Wonderful hosts, beautiful property and so much to do and see in the area.
Great stay!! Great location for doing different activities on the North Shore. Hosts were delightful. It’s a perfect boondock!! Thank you!!! Hope to see you next year!!
Our hosts were so welcoming. They let our dog run free and welcomed us to a socially distanced happy hour on their deck.
They were so welcoming and accommodating wish I could have stayed longer! They even offered for me to come the same night when they found out I was not in a good spot. Enjoyed walking the trails with our dogs and the conversation
First time ever RVing for us.
All we can say is best experience ever!
Having the opportunity to stay on the north shore and not in an RV park next to other's was incredible, but being able to meet these great people (Sandy and Elaine) well, MEMORABLE.
Loved every moment.

This was my first BW experience and it was perfect. Nice, quiet place to park on beautiful land, and friendly hosts to visit with on my journey. Hope I get a chance to pass this way again!
Truly in the woods with super hosts. Had a quiet night of sleep. There’s a mowed trail for walking and some good suggestions for touring the area. All thumbs up! Thank you folks!
Elaine & Sandy are both great hosts. We spent two nights with them and learned a lot about the area and really enjoyed their company. If you're exploring the North Shore of Superior I highly recommend Effie's Paradise.
The hosts of Effie’s Place were wonderful. So welcoming and kind! And Effie is adorable. It’s a great place to explore the North Shore area, and we wish we’d had more time. The spot was level and private and the electric hookup and Wi-Fi were a real bonus! Thank you, Effie and gang!
We stayed for one night and highly recommend the place. Driving instructions easy to follow, parking area nice with view to fields, horses and woods. Had a really interesting chat with the hosts who know the area very well and also shared tips including where to see moose ( we did not see any this time though)
Enjoyed evening conversations with our host. Lots of room for parking. We enjoyed walking on the property. It was nice to have internet and to be fairly close to the shoreline. Lots of hiking and biking opportunities.
Amazing people
Amazing pets
Amazing place
Effie’s paradise is an amazing place to stay!
Great hosts! Had a nice visit before we left. It's easy to find, quiet, beautiful. Plenty of space to maneuver your rig. The trials around their property are easy to walk and beautiful. Thanks!
Happy Trails were super hosts! They were very cordial and helpful.
A gem of a spot - private, scenic, and an extra bonus of great walking trails! The hosts were fantastic - great knowledge of the North Shore and even had some new ideas for veteran North Shore visitors like us! This was our first Boondocking experience - so glad we landed here.
This was a wonderful place to visit. Happy Trails are helpful, generous, and very knowledgeable about the area. Great place to boondock!
It was such a quiet and beautiful property! THANK YOU HappyTrails for accommodating our last minute plans!
We’re so happy we discovered this little gem in the north woods. Our hosts were very helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed visiting and had a peaceful night.
We wish we could have stayed longer. Such gracious and engaging hosts--all three! A beautiful hidden gem in Minnesota's north woods, on a well-kept, active, almost dream-like small farmstead. And the trailer parking area was just far enough away from, and accessible via a tree-lined avenue to, the main house. We thoroughly enjoyed our short visit.
Wonderful area, very welcoming and helpful hosts, great experience for our first time boondocking!
Hope to return!
We stayed two nights and did the 61 from the Canadian border to Finland. And the rest of 61 today.
We got a lot of interesting tips from the ladies.
We enjoyed staying there and talk with them and met nice other people.
Thanks a lot.

Beautiful and quite. Host we very welcoming and where happy to have the kids and dog.
What fantastic hosts! This is a beautiful property up in the trees, within an easy drive of some North Shore favorites. Effie's people are friendly and a great resource for tips on local events and suggestions for routes leading to the road less traveled.
Thanks so much for directions for the route past Lax Lake into Two Harbors! Beautiful drive and great roads! We followed your suggestion for Spoke and Go and the coffee place - and now have a new favorite place to stop. :-)
Thanks so much for hosting us!
Had a wonderful stay with Our hosts @ Effie’s Paradise.
Thank you so much for welcoming us to your property,& home.
You have a slice of heaven there!
Thank you for all the suggestions of where to eat,& places to visit!
Great suggestion on the “Rustic Inn Cafe”!
Great food,& delicious pies!
If ever in the area again, would definitely love to stay here!
Thank you again!
Don’t know how it got on the website that we declined a stay at Happy Trails because we had a lovely stay there on July19-20 2019.
Quit, quiet and great scenery. The hosts love where they live and willing to share their joy of living there with you. Fun to hear stories of what it is really like to live “up North” in the winner.
They are also a wealth of information on what to see in that part of the world.
We’ll stay again when in that part of the world.
We had the spot next to the barn and enjoyed watching the horses graze in the morning. Easy access. Hosts are very friendly and We enjoyed our evening conversations with them. They were able to give us a lot of good information on places to visit in the area. Hope to meet up with you guys when you’re in Florida.
Such a lovely place to come and visit!!!
My wife and i came here (on the very very slim chance) to see the Northern Lights! When i asked about the lights, they gave me information about the northern lights and links to track the best time to see them.
Whilst we didn't see the Lights, the people were wonderful and very social. Took us for a tour around the area and we shared drinks and stories every night.
We look forward to our paths crossing again!
Sandy and Elaine were wonderful hosts, leading a 4-loop mile-long walk around their property and giving us guidance for things to do and places to go up and down Highway 61. Enjoyed their company, their apples, and the horses that were our neighbors for the two nights we were there. Very conveniently located to nearby Ely and the North Shore.
This was another great stop-over for us using Boondockers Welcome. They were quick to respond to our request and when we arrived they helped us get settled. These ladies sure made us feel welcome. It is our first time in the Lake Superior area, and they helped familiarize us with the "North Shore" and some local hikes, good restaurants, and suggested many places along Hwy 61 to visit, etc. Also told us about a local dump station in Finland that saved us having to drive much further away. We were happy to be their first Boondocker guests. You can't go wrong staying at their lovely property.
