Burt and Bev enjoy outdoor activities and traveling as much as possible. We recently moved closer to Topeka after living for over 30 years on a farm of an adjoining county. With our smaller acreage we expect to be on the road a great deal in our 39 ft Glendale Titanium. We are currently held to shorter trips because we are looking after the needs of an elderly relative. Our acreage includes many trees and is surrounded by woodland. Inhabitants include turkeys, hoot owls, raccoons, coyotes, squirrels, rabbits and an assortment of other birds and varmints.
We do just about everything for ourselves, including household remodeling, auto repairs and gardening. Our experience with computers goes waaaay back.
We currently have one cat who owns the place and allows us to live here. He is eleven years old and lives both indoors and outdoors, depending on his mood at the moment. Dogs do not bother him.
Anywhere that it is quiet and scenic. Cool in the summer and warm in winter is helpful. We enjoy finding new places.
Berryton is an unincorporated area just south of Topeka, Kansas. Our acreage is four miles from Lake Shawnee of Topeka and within an hour of four Kansas reservoirs and very nice state parks for RVing and water sports. We are within two miles of Hearlland Park racegrounds. Burt was born and raised nearby and Bev is originally from Washington state.

We really enjoyed learning to know Burt and Bev! It is amazing how people come as strangers and in a couple days they leave as friends. This is what we experienced with Burt and Bev. We hope that they will come back again. Do yourself a favor and host them if you have the opportunity.
Nice people, Got bird in bed then got them set up had a few minutes talking with them nice couple. Sorry we couldn’t spend more time with them we are already committed ourselves on a trip into Canada hope you get a chance to go back and see us again nice folks
Nice couple that were excellent guests. Had great conversations with both of them. They kept me updated on their arrival time after making a stop for groceries and arrived as expected. He backed their 5th wheel out in the morning with no problems. I think he has done it before. They are welcome back any time.
Good folks in a new place. They appreciated a native spending a little time showing local spots. Burt & Bev could have stayed longer and are welcome back anytime. I hope to visit them in Kansas sometime. One great thing with Boondockers is flexibility. Burt & Bev had a major breakdown shortly after requesting a stay at my place. They did not know when repairs would be completed. Had they made reservations at a busy campground it probably would become an issue. This situation was no problem for me and they showed up a couple days later. We had a nice visit . Thanks for the delicious Kansas pulled pork and bbq sauce.
Very nice midwestern couple. Extremely friendly we were sad to see them leave after only 2 days. We are planning to stop at their place next time we go cross country.
They're both very nice people and we enjoyed their visit, short as it was. We tried to talk them into another day or two but they had places to go and people to see. I invited them to stop back on their way home later this summer.
No trouble with these Tribbles, they were fun to talk to.
We really didn't get a chance to visit with this couple because they happened to be arriving at the same time we were leaving for the evening. They left in the morning before we had a chance to go down and visit but we had no difficulties with them or with their communication. They visited with other boondockers that we had here at the same time and were very friendly.
Safe travels bktribble!
This was our first ever stop at a BW Host. We got there after texting with our host a couple of times to say we were on the way and he was waiting in the driveway for us. He helped us find a nice spot for the camper, ran an extension cord to us, chatted for a moment and then pointed to the campfire that he had already lit.
We took a little walk around his lot after eating and then sat in a swing by his campfire before hitting the sack.
Got to chat for a few minutes in the morning before we headed out. I have to say that Boondockers Welcome is everything I hoped it would be. It was much nicer than the commercial Campground we stayed at the night before. Completely quiet and no camper snugged up against the side of ours with the TV on till 2 a.m.
Most accommodating..very personable great hospitality and location...
They were super friendly and Burt even had the patience to talk me through backing up 32-ft trailer for the first time ever. Gracious hosts that were helpful and delightful to talk to about the wide world of traveling. A+
Enjoyed visiting with our hosts last night. He has made a nice RV parking area next to the house and we Appreciated the electrical hook up. Very nice quiet country setting And not far off the main highway. We would love to return if we were in the area and hope that someday we could host them as well.
Such beautiful property! Burt and Bev were really great, and flexible since we had some mechanical issues that pushed our arrival time back a couple of times. We will definitely stop here again if we are passing through.
We had an excellent stay with Burt n Bev. They are very kind, generous hosts. We enjoyed multiple conversations over a two day stay and also were priveiledged to have them invite us in for coffee and donuts the morning of our departure. As with so many Boondockers Welcome hosts, we start as strangers and leave as friends.
