Wonderful Hosts

We enjoyed a night at Paradise in the Woods (truly the perfect name for this location). They are the epitome of generous and gracious hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them and learn about life from local Alaskans. The ATV ride was a real highlight for us on our Alaskan adventure. We feel like we made good friends that we hope to keep in touch with and meet up on the road at some time. Thank you for everything Gary and Sherry!

Excellent PLUS!

We had an amazing time sharing the last four days with some spectacular hosts and meeting some new people we truly call friends. Our hosts made our experience of Boondockers Welcome a difficult one for others to have to meet their same standards. Their help and courteousness in getting us settled was only the start. Offering a wealth of information of local sightseeing possibilities took us to more amazing adventure, starting with the Bridge to Nowhere right off from their property and within walking distance. Their son took Karen and I on an adventure learning all about the woods, and in particular, helping us each find our very own, personalized hand-picked diamond willow walking sticks. After, the four of us had the opportunity to take their side-by-side and the 4-wheeler out for a little riding through the trails and taking in the glory of the gorgeous lake setting mixed within at different places. Their own property was a spectacular setting in it's own right with everything we needed readily available. Thank you again for all the hospitality and new friendships we will treasure for the rest of our lives. The homemade dandelion and fireweed jellies ARE AMAZING! 🤗

Fantastic Stay

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. We are sad our stay got cut short due to RV repairs needing to be done, but it was such a wonderful time while we were there! Our hosts were so welcoming - they even took us on a 4wheeler tour and shared local jams to sample! Truly, a gem! Thank you for everything!

A beautiful place

We were welcomed bySgatesg2 and were soon at the table with children and grandchildren.
Then an unforgettable adventure with riding an ATV, through which we have been able to visit the country around the house.
Thanks for this wonderful evening and the salmon is on the barbecue tonight.

Great stay!

Sgatesg2 made us feel like we were at home. They had friends for dinner the night we arrived. We were invited, also, to a dinner of salad, spaghetti (made with moose meat) and fry bread, with homemade jelly. It was great!!!
They provided us with great area information on things to see in the Fairbanks area. We had so much fun we stayed an extra night.
Their driveway is just 1000 feet from the Richardson Highway (Alaska 2).
