Very nice and generous people. Had a bit of a hard time getting there with GPS directions (took us to private property with no turn around possible) but that was not anyone’s fault. If given different directions to arrive definitely follow them lol. Our host gave us multiple boxes of fresh veggies from the garden, offered a generator, and even let us stay a couple days extra before our next planned destination. Kind man with nice wooded spots to park. Would definitely recommend staying! 😁
We had a very pleasant stay at Sherwood Forest. The beautiful surroundings and the fresh vegetables provided by our host were fantastic! We are hoping to return soon.Thank you Sherwood Forest.
What a wonderful, generous host! We loved our stay and appreciated the warm welcome and fresh fruits and vegetables. Driving out onto the road was a little tricky with our truck/28’ camper combo. Thank goodness for skid plates. 🤣 Thanks so much MordenWillie!!
Wonderful and generous host in Sherwood.
Veggies, fruit, plants and flowers, grows in abundance here.
Such a beautiful and delicious place.
We got to enjoy a variety of veggies and fruit.
Thank you so much for hosting us.
Fires were getting worse all around. Came to stay for 4 nights, but left after 1. Could not have been more kind and considerate. Thank you so much for the last minute booking under the circumstances and sorry I had to go. Would have loved to explore the area. My truck pulling my 30ft TT had no problems. Definitely use directions given to arrive!
We had a wonderful camping experience. The camping spot is great, surrounded by beautiful trees. The host is very gracious, generous with water and garden produce. We were able to visit many tourist areas, including the Portland area, Multnomah Falls, using this as our base. Great Boondocking site!
Great host, so very accommodating. Appreciate Bill’s willingness for us to extend our stay! Hoping he’ll come see us at Lk. Shasta when passing through and we’ll be able to return the hospitality!
I woke up to birds in the evergreens out my window and sunshine coming in the dining area of RV. The spot was easy to park, and only minor leveling needed (I am particular - some wouldn't even bother!) Great directions in, and once there - found a very personable host. Lookin forward to staying again, and discussing the nature of life, and from our law chairs - how to fix the world!!! :-)
Important note:
There is room for more than one Boondocker at a time, and although I could not get a signal from T-Mobile - the other folks had a Weboost cellular booster, with Verizon hotspot - and were able to download websites and work from their Airstream... fyi
My husband, myself, and the dogs enjoyed staying here so much! The host met us on the driveway and we swapped some stories.
We parked on the left coming in and it was very level side to side, we didn’t even need blocks. The dogs enjoyed running around and we enjoyed watching the neighbors pigs in their mud bath.
If your looking to head into Portland, it’s a short drive away. We originally didn’t plan to go, but we just had to have some Voodoo Doughnuts!
Thank you for your hospitality!
Our host was very friendly, hospitable, and accommodating. Several places to park with shade during parts of the day. It is a very narrow winding road getting there by GPS so you may want to follow his directions. Very pleasant stay!
We really enjoyed our time here. Our host was very friendly and the property was surrounded by beautiful trees.
The drive to Sherwood Forest was an absolute joy. Past vineyards and horse farms, thru beautiful green woods on a winding paved road that reminded us of Yosemite National Park. Our stay was short and we didn't get to meet our host, but he called and checked on us before and after our stay to make sure all was well. Very restful night in a beautiful spot. The driveway was steep but negotiable for our 34 ft fifth wheel, tho we did leave a skid mark with the rear stabilizers.
We had a great stay. Plenty of room on a beautiful lot. It was a pleasure to meet both Willie and the other boondockers.
Beautiful property. Beautiful location. And the hosts were amazing!
The driveway is steep. Our 33’ fifthwheel made it but the bike rack on the back scraped pretty good.
Cell service for Verizon and ATT was bad. We had our 20’ pole weboost up and it was not a ton better. Best speed was 3mbs down.
Lots of low trees so beware.
About 30-40 to downtown Portland.
We were welcomed with such fabulous hospitality! Sherwood Forest is a relaxing and quiet property, with plenty of room to stretch out. We loved the sound of baby farm animals nearby and the drive into town is scenic, with lots of views of Mount Hood. We would not hesitate to stay here again!
Friendly and welcoming host and beautiful surroundings. We had a peaceful refreshing stay.
I arrived in Sherwood Forest to a warm welcome from my host Bill. His property was lovely and private, and he brought me a bouquet of flowers from his garden which I appreciated for the duration of my stay. I was able to spend my time there in restful solitude and enjoyed the sounds of coyotes in the distance, the many birds living in the pines and even the sounds of farm life from the nextdoor neighbor. The spot was level and easy to get into. There was a quiet road nearby where I was able to take my pup for walks. All in all a wonderful stay, and no signs of the Sheriff of Nottingham.
A lovely, level, mostly shaded spot for a few days with a gracious host who welcomed us with glorious dahlia blooms from his garden!!! What a beautiful property, great for our doggie to run, and for us to experience the days leading to the Full Moon Saturday Independence Day holiday!
Excellent host, beautiful property. My second time visiting, always enjoyable chatting with the host
Bill and his wife Barbara were very friendly. Unfortunately our RV broke down as soon as we got there and they welcomed us to stay longer. Bob even gave me a referral to a guy willing to help us. I would recommend this beautiful area just outside of Wilsonville.
The hosts were so kind and helpful and the area is beautiful. Would definitely recommend!
MordenWillie was a wonderful host...he even brought a few fresh vegetables and flowers from his garden. He was very accommodating to some changes and went out of his way to make the stay very enjoyable.
A great spot and worth a stay. Thank you so much
A very welcoming atmosphere. He waited for us to arrive at the mailbox and helped us get situated through the whole process. He even provided grates for us to park on so we wouldn’t have any problems getting our trailer out in case of rain. We felt right at home! Lots of room for the kids to play. He even took our kids on a tour of the neighbors farm, which they loved.
For those coming in with a big rig you need to take it slow, the roads are narrow and curvy. We did scrap our hitch on the hill pulling in with our 33ft trailer but managed to get in okay. Once you are in, there is plenty of room to maneuver.
We had a great time exploring Portland, Columbia Gorge, Silver Falls State Park and Mt Hood. We would definitely stay here again.
Highly recommend!
The perfect place to relax. Spacious and quiet. Hosts welcoming. ❤️
We enjoyed staying with MordenWillie and it was a pleasure to listen and share RVing stories.
We only stayed one night, but for us fellow travelers, it helped us conserve a few needed dollars by not paying exorbitant fees in an RV park.
As hosts ourselves, it is a pleasure to help a fellow member/traveler on their way, and we were certainly grateful to stay at beautiful Sherwood Forest.
Thank you MordenWillie.
I didn't get to meet the host, but I had a wonderful quiet stay at MordenWillie's location. Thank you so much!
We only stayed the one night so we didn't get much time to talk, but they were very nice and even brought us a bag of fresh fruits and veggies, which were amazing. We had BLTs with the tomatoes and they were great :) We would definitely stay again.
What a wonderful stay! MordenWillie's generousity, kind heart, and tremendous work ethic cannot be understated--and it's all reflected in the beauty and bounty of the gardens on his land! The love he clearly feels for his home, is seen and felt at every turn--vibrant flowers, fruits, vegetables (which he shared a-plenty)--and the enormous smile and warm conversation he met us with from our first step on his driveway. This is truly a special, welcoming, peaceful place nestled in the heart of Oregon--surrounded by beautiful lush forests for hikes with our doggo. We were sad to leave, and truly hope to spend time with MordenWillie again in the future!
This was my first experience using BoondockersWelcome and I hope every other experience will be just as pleasant. Mr. MW was very welcoming and friendly. He made us feel comfortable and relaxed. His land is perfect for RVers and it was also very fun having other boondockers around us as well. We really enjoyed visiting his area and hope to be here again one day. It is beautiful and there is so much to see. We would not have been able to afford a RV park in this area so we are super grateful for hosts like this. It allowed us to see the beauty of this part of the US. Thank you for being so generous!
We loved our stay here! Our host was so kind from the moment we arrived, helped us choose a spot to park, and even gave us a bag of fresh garden veggies! We were in and out because of meeting up with family, but this is a perfect place to come and disconnect. I reckon any size rig can fit, though a semi steep driveway.
After a visit to Portland, it was nice to settle into a slice of country life...A friendly and generous host with a lovely property. A farm and various animals for next door neighbors. Enjoyed sitting there in our lawn chairs, listening to the chickens and watching them wander about. Even a family of pigs - both very large and very small. Thanks for sharing with us!
The host is so gracious and hospitable, we could not have asked for anything more. Quiet location that's close to lots of wineries. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay a few days!
Tranquil rural setting in a mown field with no noticeable bugs and a track to park on so our wheels weren’t on the dirt (or mud, if it had been rainy). The friendly and cheerful host greeted us with delicious veggies and a beautiful flower. There was another guest there as well. My husband had a nice chat with him. We were there one night and very much enjoyed our stay.
Very much like anyone would expect for a rural country setting such as being very peaceful and wooded.
“MordenWillie” (“MW”) is a wonderful host. He visited after we settled in and brought us flowers and vegetables from his garden! We enjoyed visiting with MW. He is continuously improving the area where RVs are invited to park but we found it just perfect for us as is. This is a lovely area and MW’s property is a gem. Very quiet and beautiful. There are multiple ways to get north or south from here through Sherwood or Wilsonville. Roads are very curvy in this area, but new smooth pavement and light traffic makes it an easy go in the motor home nonetheless. MW’s driveway is straight and well-paved. Your RV's tail end might drag a bit when entering or leaving due to the slow slight slope between the driveway and the road, Thank you for a wonderful stay!
This was our first time using Boondockers Welcome and we couldn't be happier that we joined. Our stay at Sherwood Forest, was fantastic. The host was welcoming to say the least. He brought us fresh veggies and flowers from his garden. We were also able to fill up our grey tank during our stay, which is always a huge help!. I highly recommend staying here.. you will not be disappointed.
This was our first ever Boondockers reservation and couldn’t have been a better experience! Easy to find, a very pretty drive past farms and vineyards, and close to town with ample amenities.
Bill greeted us at the driveway entrance and showed us our parking options. Since we don’t have a generator and it was a hot sunny day we found a great shady spot and were perfectly comfortable. Bill even took my son on a walk to their gorgeous garden while I set up camp and returned with fresh flowers! Great conversation, peaceful and private, and totally kid and pet friendly. Hope to return some day, wonderful stay! Thank you!
I appreciate MordenWillie for all his help as this was my first time using this site. A beautiful, safe place to park. My son and dog had plenty of room to run around. The farm animals next door was new to me, but we enjoyed watching the animals roam. MordenWillie made sure I checked in ok and told me to let him know if I needed anything. I had to leave early due to a family emergency, but I would stay again and recommend to everyone I know traveling through the area affiliated with Boondockers Welcome.
Thanks again.
Site is very nice and very quiet. Listen to the host and his directions...not google!
Willie is a wonderful host and hope to see him again.
Mordenwillie's place is a little gem in the woods. Getting there is a series of hills and curves on a narrow but well-maintained road. Be sure to use the instructions he provides if you have a tall camper. Using another route may put you going under a 12'3" overpass that is located over a dip and hill configuration.
The entrance to his property is somewhat narrow, but not terrible as long as you don't have to make a wide swing into it as we tried with our 36 foot fifth wheel, as it also immediately goes up a hill. Unfortunately that puts the back of a 36 foot unit on the ground, LOL! But Mordenwillie was awesome at helping us find a nearby location at a neighbors house for a short stay. We would definitely go back if we ever get a shorter unit! Beautiful country, super host!
They are wonderful hosts, and their home is a great place to stay. They have a large grassy area in front of their house and have been super accommodating. 5 stars!
Excellent, fast communication. Extremely friendly and a safe place to stay. He brought my wife and daughter fresh cut flowers which made their day after traveling and being tired.
We enjoyed the country life, quiet, peaceful, dark, a short trip outside of Portland and other great small towns. Enjoyed our talk.
Great location, fabulous hosts. We loved the pulled pork!
Bill and I had a good time puttering around his Mercedes sprinter by Leisure van. Just a "regular" and nice guy to chat with.
Wide open level space to setup and quiet...ok...Mr Rooster put his 2 cents in.
All the best Bill. Good travels.
Tom
Serenity at its finest, blissfully peaceful and most welcoming. For anyone wishing to escape the city, heal or wishing to reconnect to mother nature-you'll find Sherwood Forest to be most accommodating. we stayed two peaceful weeks at Sherwood exploring the local area and hiking the tree farm. Bring your camera and journal there is much to see and write about!
Upon our arrivel we were greeted by our host whom is one of the nicest people I have ever met. Bill assured our stay at Sherwood exceeded any and all expectations. Kind and considerate, knowledgeable and friendly he truly went out of his way to assist us from start to finish. If there was a way to rate our stay Bill would definitely receive the highest rating!
We look forward to visiting again next year..Thank you for such a blissful rest!
Great, peaceful and quiet location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with such a kind and generous boondocking host. We look forward to returning soon.
We were a bit concerned about this site due to comments let online about the difficulty of getting in. we have a 26 ft 5th wheel, towed by a Titan pickup, and while the turn in is tight, it is certainly doable. Our host was most accommodating, even getting his little tractor out to pull us when we got a bit stuck in the mud trying to turn around. Thoroughly enjoyed our interaction with our hosts, and will look to stay with them again.
We arrived in Portland for our grandsons soccer tournament without a lot of info. He was so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. He and his wife have a lovely acreage with the most beautiful trees and no road noise at all! We felt very safe there. Thank you for making us feel at home.
This boondocking location is a bit out of the way, but totally worth it once you get here. We have a 25' trailer with a truck. We feel that this was a little too big for these narrow roads. Very rural and private setting in a beautiful area. Our host could not have been more welcoming. He helped us back our trailer in and stopped to chat with us. We shared newbie RVer stories and commiserated about learning about the RV lifestyle. Unfortunately, we had trouble leaving the property due to the size of our trailer and sustained damage. We would totally recommend this Boondockers Welcome for smaller rigs.
Our host welcomed us with a smile and even offered us some local grown fruits. The pigs next door were fun for our daughter as well. Word of caution, I have a 33ft travel trailer, it was very tight getting in the driveway but the parking areas are nice once you get there!
Our stay at Sherwood Forest was relaxing and peaceful. The tall trees provided a sound barrier from most street noise and we enjoyed the soft sounds of nearby goats, pigs and horses from neighboring properties. The trees and hillsides blocked our cell service, so we had a truly “unplugged,” boondocking experience, and our view of the moon and stars was amazing! We had lovely conversations with our host, who so generously offered gifts from his garden. We hope to cross paths again with our friendly and outgoing host.
Wasn't sure what to expect as 1st time Boondockers Welcome folks, but Bill and his wife show notthing but kindness and warmth on their property. They showed my son their goats pigs and fish pond! Thank you!!!
We had a fabulous time with our hosts and enjoyed the seclusion from the city for a few days. We were grateful for the conversation, fresh flowers and veggies from the garden! We will definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.
Excellent hosts. They asked what we needed as soon as we pulled in, then helped us trim tree branches to clear the AC housing so we could back into the field. The roads out there are steep in some places, but we had no problems. The turn into the driveway is tight, but we just swung out wide and had no problems there either.
These hosts are very kind and we had à very interesting conversation with them.
Mado
The host was very helpful and I enjoyed my stay. Very quiet evening listening to the crickets. Will look forward to staying again. I recommend this host and their beautiful place.
