We are a family of 2 adults and 3 dogs who enjoy traveling in our motor home.
Three dogs, Carson a 11 year old beagle, Luna a 3 year old golden retriever and Bodie a golden retriever puppy.
We like to camp on the playa at Smith Creek.
Reno Nevada
We have a 40 ft Fleetwood American Eagle towing a Jeep Unlimited.
Great guests son the way around. Including their pets. Weather didn’t allow for us to spend much time together, but the short visits were still nice. Hopefully they’ll be able to stop in again.
Unfortunately, our hosts we informed a few days prior to our arrival that they had been exposed to Covid, and therefore had to quarentine for 14 days! They told us we were still welcome stay on their property, but we were unable to meet them and chat like we usually do with our hosts. It is a great spot not far from Reno, but far enough away that we got to see wild horses casually stroll down the street in front of our RV on morning!
With this being our first time using Boondockers we can only hope that all future stays with Boondockers will be this pleasant.
The hosts were very pleasant and helpful. Neighborhood very quiet and peaceful. We would enjoy coming back again.
Thanks again.

I enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing stay. Very quiet neighborhood.
We came in right at sunset, after a long travel day, and so grateful for a kind welcome, easy back-in driveway, with electrical hookup for a pleasant night’s sleep. Hope to stay again and get to know these sweet hosts. Thank you, JLC! 😁
Always a wonderful stay! Thanks again😊 Hope you all enjoyed the fresh sourdough loaf from us! Safe travels out there.
Nice quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of town. The parking spot on the side of the house is nice and level. we appreciated the electrical hook up since it was rather hot out during our stay. Lake Tahoe was about an hours drive away. Our host was very accommodating and provided lots of tips for things to do in the area.
JLC was there to greet and show us where to park when we arrived. Enjoyed visiting. They offered for us to join them in the backyard at 5:30 for some more visiting, but we opted to drive to Lake Tahoe since we'd never been there. He gave us helpful directions and we got to see an amazing part of creation. Worth the 45 minute drive! They sent us off in the morning with a dozen fresh eggs. Would love to come back again and visit more.
easy access, great level parking area, neighborhood to walk dogs. Hosts were warm and welcoming. Would definately stay again.
Coved-19 prevented us from visiting much, but we were able to converse a little while as the host was working on his beautiful A-class RV putting in a wooden floor. Parking space is in the front of their property on the side, and is flat. Electric 15 amp hookup is approximately 20-30 feet from RV.
Friendly dogs behind fence greet you upon your arrival in a very quiet neighborhood. Large shopping centers close by that will be totally available after coved-19. Very friendly hosts, and I fully recommend “Caufield’s on Romona” if you need a safe and quiet place to stay when you are in this area.
Great hospitality from very nice couple. Quiet, clean and ez access. Thanks for the 110v!
We needed a place to stop in Reno for a few days. JLC were kind enough to let us use their level parking spot, electricity, and water. I must say, the neighborhood and views were amazing! We wish we could have visited more with JLC but, with social distancing in place, had to settle for talking across the yard at a safe distance. We would definitely stay again.
JLC are the best around! Due to social distancing, we didn't get to spend much time together, however what time we did chat was wonderful! This location can't be beat! Off the beaten path south of Reno, very quiet, very peaceful and oh so beautiful! Yes, we'll be back! :)
My primary reason to visit Reno, NV was to have my AIMS Solar Inverter repaired.
To find such a wonderful Hosts who allowed me to visit their beautiful location
while waiting on my Inverter was a HUGE bonus. They even allowed me to install it.
We kept our Social Distance but I did enjoy visiting w them & their beautiful dogs.
From my bedroom window I was able to view the gorgeous snow covered mountains.
The JLC Hosts & their well behaved dogs take a daily walk around their neighborhood streets. I also walked a few times myself along w many of the neighbors.
Also, it seemed like a daily occurrence to see some beautiful neighboring horses being walked &/or ridden around the block.
The Hosts also gave me a delicious home made loaf of banana nut bread.
Yes! I would enjoy returning here again during "normal times".
Thank you both J & L, I very much appreciated visiting you!

These are very difficult times for everybody and they where willing to let me come and stay on their property..This was my first time using my camper and Boondockers. It was a wonderful experience and I learned a lot. They are very nice people and I would love to come back to their place and stay again.
JLC were most welcoming hosts, who offered helpful travel advice about the region. We enjoyed the vista of the Sierras from their lovely property, located on the outskirts of Reno
Thanks from gónetroppo
JLC were welcoming, friendly, accommodating, generous and just plain good folks. We were treated to meeting their 12 week old puppy Brody and enjoy his "puppy wiggles" and his sibs. Finnegan had a great yard to run around in and chickens to harass. :-( Our evenings began with wine on the deck and segued into wonderful conversation. We won't forget this stay and hope to meet JLC again. We know we won't forget them. Our next visit will be with a batch of doggie toys.
Very nice hosts. Very nice nieghbor. I totally enjoyed my stay here.
We had a great stay with JLC. They are the consummate hosts. Welcomed us and invited us to join them for cocktail hour. Gave us greatr advice not only on the area but for future stops on our trip. Enjoyed visiting with two of their bright and inquisitive grandchildren. Sent us off with a dozen fresh eggs from their chickens. Thanks again JLC.
Wish I could rate it higher than just positive. They are a wonderful and generous couple. The site is wonderful and in a nice location. Drinks and conversation in the evening were fantastic. Thank you so much!
One of our best experiences yet. Such a lovely couple and so inviting and open. We sat talking for ours and they even provided a cold beverage. Happy to have stayed here and would stay again.
Many thanks,
Mitch and Kim
Beautiful yard and peaceful stay very special Golden Retriever Luna. Thank you for the hospitality.
This was our first Boondocker stay and we weren't quite sure what to expect. It was just what we had hoped for. It was a beautiful location, wonderful hosts, flat spot to park, friendly dogs, trampoline for the kid to get energy out, close to Reno, Tahoe and easy access to Bay area. We would highly recommend this location if in the Reno area. Thanks JLC.
Another awesome Boondockers Welcome stop. A great space to stay in and two of the most welcoming hosts! We had happy hour in Jim and Linda’s beautiful backyard and shared stories and favorite places to stay. We will definitely stay again when our travels take us through Reno. Thanks for the eggs!!
Our hosts were very nice, helpful, and hospitable. Great property on the outskirts of town but close to everything! Thanks again for hosting us!
Was just the pit stop our family needed after a few hectic weeks of being on the road. Hosts were very generous with their location. Had a great dinner with them. Would def stop in again!
Thanks for the quick swing through and place to park our rig!
JLC was more that welcoming when I arrived and helpful. They have a nice place and I enjoyed the time I spent with them. It was a bit breezy, though :)
Stayed with this host for one night in February 2019. We originally planned for 2 nights, but left early to be able to drive over the mountain passes on highway I 80 towards Sacramento before another winter storm arrived. We enjoyed meeting the host and staying at their beautiful and convenient location.
JLC were both very kind and accommodating, our heating unit doesn't work very well and its getting cold, so they let us borrow one of their to see how we liked it and it worked great. What an awesome couole. Oh, and the view from their property is gorgeous! Highly recomended.
Hosts were great people. I appreciate their understanding with my confusion in booking. They have a lovely home in a nice quiet area. Reno was colder than I thought so the hookup was a much appreciated.
Enjoyed our stay, we had such welcoming hosts who made us feel very comfortable and welcome. They had a great shady spot for our 29ft, 2 cute dogs, and some chickens too! Close to Reno, and other scenic adventures. Glad we made the stop and would stay again!
This was our second stay here. Our hosts are kind people. We were able to use electric which was much appreciated. Great place to stay!
Welcoming and kindly hosts, 2 funny, friendly and entertaining dogs. Learned about the local area and resident wildlife while visiting with JLC in their amazing back yard. Thank you for sharing your time and space with us!
We enjoyed our stay here. We were parked in a nice shady gravel area. We were able to find the house easily and we had plenty of room to back in to our stall. Our hosts were very nice and we greatly appreciate being able to stay here overnight.
Thank you for a great stay! We enjoyed Reno and Lake Tahoe. Jim and Linda are very kind and great hosts
We are pleased that we were able to make Caulfields on Ramona go fully international with our stay :) Thank you Jim & Linda for a really fun stay with a lovely view and good parking & facilities.
Jim and Linda were great host!! We couldn’t find anything as far as campgrounds/rv parks to stay at, with very short notice they allowed us to come on over:)
We are so thankful for them and allowing us to stay, great little spot under trees for shade & close to Reno/Tahoe.
