My wife and I are retired. I have traveled extensively but my wife has not. I am looking forward to showing her all the sights and sites that this country has to offer. I have never been anywhere, even world-wide, that didn't have a beauty of some kind. We have 4 children between us and 9 grandchildren.
We have many interests and hobbies. I enjoy electronics and building projects. I work with computers and some other things that will make for great conversations when we meet. My wife enjoys gardening and outside work. She is one of those very crafty people that can take junk and make it look like a million dollars.
We don't have any yet but we're looking forward to finding some through this website. We can't wait to meet some of the great hosts that we've read about.
We are from upstate New York state. We live in Orange County, home of West Point, the Army academy. While we are not far from New York City, we rarely go down there. It is mostly open country and farmland here although we have seen a huge influx of people escaping from New York City, Long Island and New Jersey. We enjoy camping locally as well as travelling. Orange County has a great public campground just 10 miles from our home. We're looking forward to seeing the sites and sights that our great country has to offer and meeting lots of great people through this web site service.

This couple, with their granddaughter, were a gem! We loved hosting them as they were very appreciative... a true breath of fresh air! We were dissapointed to see them leave, feeling we had not been able to spend as much time visiting as we had wanted. They are welcome back any time!!
Jean, John and granddaughter Desi just left, wish they could have stayed longer. It was cool enough to have a fire so we had an enjoyable chat all evening. Janice even stayed chatting with Jean, which is unusual. Jim and I have similar interests. I'm afraid we talked too long this AM making them late to the next stop.
They arrived as strangers and left as friends. Its always interesting to talk to people from the other side of the country, the way they live, weather, language, like they say were all the same but different. Great couple and would recommend them anytime. Very much enjoyed their stay.
Jim and Jean are one of the nicest couples we've met as hosts. Very amicable. In fact we got so busy talking they almost missed an appointment with a friend. It's amazing the similarities you have with new friends. We hope they will come visit us again.
The Ravelsnorts stayed 2 nights with us. We wish they could have stayed longer as they are such a nice couple.
we sat outside one evening and exchanged all kinds of information with them. We hope to see them again sometime if they ever come back to our area. It is so much fun to find out things about places we haven't been and share camping experiences with another boondocker.
Ravelsnorts were wonderful to have here for a couple of nights. Very friendly and sociable. The men had coffee and visited on the back deck in the morning for hours. He was very adept at backing his rig into our driveway. They are welcome here anytime, and said they might come again on their way home. We love the Boondockers program. We have met several new friends the past couple of years.
