Tom and I are retired and spend our summers at our rustic log cabin in north east Wyoming. Tom takes care of our seven acres and I keep myself busy in my small arts and crafts studio.
Tom is a do-it-yourself-er. And I have a small quilting and crafting studio.
We usually travel with one small dogs. On the property we have two dogs and free range chickens. There is often wildlife, deer, wild turkeys and an occasional fox or skunk.
We mostly boondock overnight at Walmarts while travelling to and from locations. We do spend a week boondocking in Quartzsite, Arizona in January on BLM land.
We split our time between San Diego, California and rural north east Wyoming.
2000 Hurricane (no slides) sometimes with a Jeep toad Behind and can be unhooked if necessary
We were road weary and so grateful to rest overnight here! Instructions were awesome and thorough (Thanks, Pax, sorry we missed meeting you!) and Tom met us at the mailbox to lead us in. Very friendly, helpful and welcoming! We ate supper under the pines and were lulled to sleep by the wind whistling thru. I hope we can stay here again sometime! Thanks so much!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Our hosts provided directions and guidance upon our arrival. It's very quiet, with trees to provide protection from the sun. Great views and occasional sightings of wildlife. Our sincerely thanks to our hosts!
It was great to visit here. While we only got to meet Tom, we were grateful for the opportunity to visit with him and stay here.
The hosts are superb. Communication was easy. I did make the mistake of going up to the house upon entering the gate but did not disturb anybody as Tom drove up right at that moment. But for the mosquitoes due to the excessive rains, I would have enjoyed the outdoors a little more. Tom was very gracious and helpful. I left very early in the dark to get to the Black Elk Mountain trailhead for my climb. Would have loved to have met Pax. Better luck some other time.
Tom has beautiful acreage in rural Wyoming. It was very quiet. After a hard rain we woke up to the sun shining and the birds singing. Tom was very accommodating and helped us get in to a place to park. One word of caution, if you have a large or y’all unit you may have difficulty accessing this site. Our truck camper is relatively tall and it was a tight fit for us. Overall a great experience. Thanks!
Tom is a very nice person and we enjoy to stay there to visit the Devil's tower.
It was very nice spending two night in this area. It was close to Devil Tower and the Black Hills and made a nice jumping off point. Tom was great, and I would have like to have met Pax, but she had grandmotherly duties. How wonderful!
I enjoyed my time with Pax and Tom. They are great people. My dog had someone to play with and got some exercise. They have a great piece of property. Dakota, my dog, watched the deer for a few hours. All in all I would stay there again.
Wonderful rural spot. The hosts were very nice and helpful. Perfect base for Devils tower.
Hosts were very welcoming. They gave us many advices concerning different tourist attractions. Very quiet and charming place.
We strongly recommend this boondocking!
Pax+Tom were great with their communication. I got a response in less than an hour, and we were in regular communication by text as we got close to their property. Very friendly, and they gave us some great recommendations for local eateries near Devil's Tower.
Thanks again Pax + Tom for a beautiful stay on your wonderful property! I enjoyed the absolute quiet of the nights and close proximity to many sights in the area. Highly recommend these hosts :-)
Though my plans had changed and I was unable to boondockers at Rustic Black Hills, they were very inviting and seemed pleased to open their home. I felt welcomed.
