We're retired and when not home, are out in our Skinnie Winnie.
Both of us have been camping and RVing since we were kids.
Carl: Computer performance tech, worked from home.
Karen: Registered nurse.
We love travel, walking, reading, kayaking, biking, and fixing things. You may hear Karen practicing Irish, Scottish and other fiddle tunes on her squeezer or piano. Let us know if you play folk music.
*Please respect our desire to only accept vaccinated guests at this time*
Parking is for one or two nights. Parking would be at the end of the driveway beside the garden shed where there is 30amp power and a dump available. It'll help to back in so the garage doors aren't blocked. We live in an area on a saltwater bay. There's a great neighborhood walk down Yokeko Road, a quiet lane for 1 mile with great views. Do be aware that our island is in the flight path of the Whidbey Naval Air Station and we never know exactly when the jets will be doing training flights. We're proud of our Navy neighbors, but they can occasionally be noisy! We ask that you clean up after any pets and keep your dog(s) on leash as our yard is open to our neighbors' yards. We do not expect or need any gifts or funds for staying here...we just hope you enjoy yourselves!!
We have water, power, a dump, a garbage can, and WiFi available. We do like having guests, but please checkout by 12 noon. Thanks!
Handy with building and fixing stuff. We built a lot of this house as well as completed many modifications on our RV. Carl know lots about solar, electricity, plumbing. Karen is familiar with ebikes, gardening and folk music.
No pets currently.
All over. Mostly in NW Washington state BC Canada, and the SW U.S. on BLM land, but all over, wherever we can.
The last 7 years during the winter for 1-3 months we've spent wandering around in the SW parts of the US following the sun. Boondocking or dry camping is always our preferred parking/camping method most of the time if we can.
Favorite places? Waterfront areas around the Pacific NW, and the mountains, rivers in BC., the quiet desert locations in the SW US.
The actual town of Anacortes is about 12 miles to the north of our location. We're happy to talk with you about fun things to do around the area.
2007 Winnebago View 23H class-C
Our second stay this year in this lovely spot with such gracious hosts, says it all. Many thanks again!
Beautiful, level site in a great location, delightful hosts.
Finding the address and backing into the spot was easy in my 25' class C. Plenty of space to unhook a toad. Just minutes from Deception Pass state park. There are stairs leading down to the water, with a bench to sit and enjoy the view (I was treated to a fantastic full moon reflecting off the water, lucky me!) Water available to fill your tank, 30 amp electric, a dump station and good wifi.
The hosts and I went out for pizza and live music, she plays the accordion. Had a great time, such nice people.
I highly recommend this host and location :)
These two were awesome hosts! Location on a great side of town with a gorgeous view and lovely garden, water and dump available right there.
Everything a small rig could ask for.. easy back in to prefectly level spot. Carl made us feel welcome.and pointed out all the full hookups. The view was stunning.
If in the area this is a don’t miss spot
Such a beautiful, serene haven. We're fully vaccinated and tend to stay quietly in our class B. So grateful that the gracious hosts accommodated us.
Very convenient for exploring Anacortes- lovely spot, lovely view, lovely people. *****5 star, thank you!
We were greeted at their lovely home, right on the water. We drive a TC and had no problem backing into their level spot. We are new to Rving and they gave us even more suggestions on web-sites and apps. Our thanks to these wonderful hosts for a quiet nights sleep and a beautiful view to wake up to. We were lucky to have stayed at this perfect spot
With great thanks!
What a lovely home and location on the bay! The Elliot's were welcoming and flexible and we had a peaceful nights rest. What a wonderful first boondockers welcome stay!
This was my first successful Boondocker's Welcome stay. The Elliott's responded quickly to my short notice request. Easy warm & humorous welcome after host guided me in so I wouldn't take out the rock wall. (Only he is allowed to)
What a beautiful property and view to relax at, even had full hookups & wifi. Planned to stay only one nite but winds got bad and they offered to allow me another nite to wait it out. This time allowed us to chat and share rv life information and if you stay with these wonderful hosts, ask about maps.me
I would love to come back in the spring or summer to explore this area more. Even with nasty weather rolling in, Elliott's place is a slice of heaven.
Thank you for a beautiful experience, making me gut laugh and sharing your knowlege Mr Elliott!
Wonderful folks and a lovely location, especially if you enjoy the constant roar of jets from the nearby Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. The daily air show is a reminder of the constant training required for our military.
Beautiful place, very peaceful and quite... Also can't go without mentioning the amazing views!
This boondockers had it all. Dumping, 30amp and most importantly great and accommodating hosts. We loved our stay with the Elliotts, and wouldn't hesitate to stay again or have them stay with us once we have settled. They are part of the original boondockerswelcome group and have some great stories of their adventures.
Thanks for being kind and accommodating!!
Our first “boondockers welcome” location exceeded our expectation! Beautiful, serene spot with amazing water views! Our host was there to greet us and let us hook up to electric.
Easy to find with very friendly and kind host Carl. Even with short notice response time was quick and communication easy. Wish we could of stayed another night. Breath taking spot!
Nice people living on a wonderful spot, thank you for staying at your place.

I just spent a wonderful weekend at the Elliotts. They are a wonderful, hospitable couple. Their property is right on the water. I was able to get some much needed rest and relaxation. It was a quiet and serene. It could not have been a better experience. Highly recommend.
Thank you to the Elliotts for allowing us to overnight at your beautiful oceanfront estate! Your warmth and generosity made our very first Boondockers Welcome experience wonderful!
Nothing like looking out the back windows and seeing the full moon reflecting on the sound!
Very generous hosts, very kind and friendly.
A great experience!
The Elliotts responded quickly to my last minute request.I arrived at sunset to their lovely waterfront home. Since I planned to leave early to catch a ferry I didn't plug in. Very grateful for their generosity and happy with my first boondockerswelcome experience.
This was our first experience with Boondockers Welcome and it could not have been better. Beautiful setting, very knowledgeable hosts concerning motorhomes and so helpful. We enjoyed our time there, and are so happy to be part of Boondockers Welcome because of the Elliotts. Sharon
Superlative view, friendly folks, full hook-ups. Can't beat that combination!
I felt like I have know these nice people for a while before I appeared in their driveway. We shared soup, fresh cheeries and great stories....
Very friendly hosts, spontaneous welcome. A nice quiet place to stay. They allowed us to sit in the garden on the waterfront.
