I'm a mental health professional who enjoys the outdoors and meeting new people. My spouse is an engineer. We've been RVing for 3 years now. In the last year I've become a permanent remote worker, and so I'm hoping for more combined work-play RV adventures!
Basic metal smithing and jewelry making, cooking, baking, experienced in teaching mindfulness/meditation skills, spouse is handy with fixing things and loves to play music and we often travel with a 3/4-size guitar and an egg shaker :-)
We have a cat but he's not a huge fan of traveling in the RV.
I love staying in all kinds of places, meeting new people, seeing different parts of the country. For 2018 and 2019, I had the entire summer off and drove across the country - a northern loop in 2019 and more of a southern one in 2018 and stayed in places ranging from campgrounds, national and state/local park campgrounds, to harvest hosts, to Boondocker locations, on occasional overnight at a Flying J ... and in friend/family driveways, too! I drove about 6500-7500 miles mostly by myself but my spouse joining when he could. I underutilized Boondockers on those trips because I often made plans on the fly, and lack of an app really impaired by ability to do that. But now...the app... it's fantastic!!!
Atlanta, Georgia (20 years) Milford, Connecticut (5 years) -- but the most recent!
2018 Forest River 2251SLE class C motorhome that is 24 feet, 3 inches without a tow vehicle, but likely to have either a hitch-mounted bicycle rack that extends a foot, or a hitch-mounted scooter rack with a Vespa on the back for local exploring!
We, Harry and Lorraine, are going over our references and feeling very frustrated. Both of us have noted the April dates in our calendars for Rockett_Pad and yet for some reason we apparently did not reference the visit. I realize April is a long time ago but this is inexcusable on our part. Harry was struggling with a spinal issue which is now much improved. We do hope we can host them again.
We really enjoyed getting to know this interested and interesting couple. We have invited them to come back anytime and we hope they do.
We were going away the morning after the Rockett_Pads arrived so we only had a chance to visit upon their arrival Friday night and before we left in the morning. Wonderfully nice and competent we were thrilled to be able to host them "in absentia".. Auspiciously, because we were on our way to a family dinner with sibs we hadn't seen in over a year, Ms. Rockett_Pad's gifted, delicious loaf of bread added to the scrumptious meal and received rave reviews from all. The weather was iffy so they had one good day and a morning but we hope they return in the future to enjoy more of what our region has to offer.
We thoroughly enjoyed Rockett_Pad's stay. They were perfect guests - quiet and considerate and brought a lovely gift of home baked goodies! It was so nice to visit with them and get to know them a little (safely distanced outdoors, of course). Hope to have them back again sometime soon!
I enjoyed meeting Rockett-Pad very much. I hope to visit them on my way east next year, and they are welcome back any time!
We had a lovely visit with MH, she was very independent and easy to host. Safe travels!
MaryHelen and her adorable niece were awesome guests! We were invited in their RV for a quick visit where I learned she is new to RVing, traveling all summer (lucky!) and that we were her first BW experience. We talked about RVing and routes and where to go to escape this oppressive heat we are experiencing in Texas (106ºF in mid-July!). The conversation was easy...felt like talking to an old friend. Meeting folks like this reinforces that signing up for Boondockers Welcome was a great idea!
Really enjoyed myself at the Rockett Pad, the couple was super friendly and helpful and very hospitable. There was a cute beach at the end of their street that i walked my dog to. The small downtown area was also really nice! It was difficult to turn around in their driveway but if youre patient, it is possible!
I had a nice time staying here in Conecticut, the hosts were very accommodating and comfortable to stay with. I was able to bike down into the town a mile away and get breakfast and also had a great time having diner and talking with them, nice people to become friends with.
The host met us in the driveway to get us situated and gave us some ideas for walking the beach, which is a short distance from their home. We went for a long beach walk, which was beautiful! We enjoyed a quiet night sleep and in the morning the host invited us for coffee on their deck. We sat and chatted for an hour or so; they are super nice people. It’s always great to hear about the adventures of other RVers!
We stayed here in our way to Cape Cod. Rockett_Pad was away enjoying their own RVing. Level parking spot under the trees. Great communication with the host! I will definitely stay here again! Thank you!!!
These hosts were awesome! Approval very fast for last minute request and they couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating! They let my pups have free reign of the back yard and even took us on a nice walk to show us the area!
Thanks for the stay! Close to the beach. We walked the dogs there and went to sleep early. Wish we could have stayed longer! Very restful place to stay!
Very peaceful.Welcoming hosts. Quiet neighborhood. Close to Long Island sound.
They went above and beyond in their hosting duties and truly made me feel at home. This was my first stay through boondockers and I could not have imagined anything better!
Surrounding area is beautiful and lots to see- just a short walk to the beach and state park, and close to lots of great shops. I went on my way with a delicious homemade muffin and wonderful memories of my time there.... so grateful to have crossed paths with these two.
Thank you so much for welcoming me into your home and loving on the pup too! I look forward to hopefully seeing you again!
The host were very attentive from start to finish. Enjoyed our conservation and developing friendship. Wasn't there long but hope to return soon again if welcomed.
We loved our stay at Rockett_Pad. Hosts were very welcoming and gave us some great ideas of how to spend our time in the area. Everything was pretty ideal and can't thank them enough for their hospitality!
Wonderful hosts, very friendly and helpful. We stayed 3 nights to check out the area—easy to get around by walking or biking to the nearby beach, state park, town, playgrounds, etc. Host even treated us to a backyard fire and helped with a minor interior repair. Highly recommend both the hosts and the town. Thanks very much for having us!
We stayed for two nights and the directions and instructions on where to park were good. We enjoyed exploring the area and the weather was beautiful for a walk on the beach to the island. The best part of the stay, was spending time talking and exchanging stories. This is what makes Boondockers Welcome the BEST! We feel like we met new friends, not just a place to stay.
These guys are great! Above and beyond what I would expect from a host. Such a beautiful little town, walking distance to a nice beach and state park. Nice and flat spot next to the house. They were kind enough to offer us water and 15amp to charge a few things. It had rained the previous day or we would have loved to take them up on a fire pit in the backyard. Thanks again! A great Boondockers stay. Highly recommend
Chris & Mary Hellen are wonderful. Super safe, accommodating and genuine people. We would stay with them again if we ever had the chance. Thank you for your warm welcome and gracious hospitality.
Kevin and Julie Ryan
We had a fantastic experience. Very friendly host who provided us with electricity. It’s a nice quiet neighborhood but within a short walk of the beach and restaurants. Highly recommend
The hosts were very responsive and accommodating. Due to unforeseen delays, we arrived after dark and the hosts helped direct us how best to pull our camper into the spot. They offered electric and water setups and were very welcoming and friendly. Very nice area and perfect for what we needed. Would definitely recommend.
These guys are really nice people! They even have a 30amp power hookup and water. About 1/4 mile from a really nice waterfront.
This was our first stay from Boondocker‘s welcome. The Rockett_Pad couple went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! Not only did they help us get set up and settled but then they invited us up on their deck for a drink. They live maybe half a mile walk from a beautiful beach where we really enjoyed our time.
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Rocket_Pad for your kind hospitality and making our first stay special.🙂
We had a very nice evening relaxing at the Rockett Pad. Wish we could have stayed longer- our hosts were friendly and very helpful in getting us hooked up. We did get a chance to take a short bike to the beach at the end of the block just before sunset (1/2 mile). The weather was perfect for evening stroll through the neighborhood. Wish we could have stayed and chatted more with our host, they were so nice to have us. Boondocker hosts have been extraordinary during this pandemic by hosting nomadic travelers like my wife and I. Thank you both for a pleasant stay, we hope to see you again.
We were so fortunate to be able to stay at the Rockett Pad. Our hosts were both so welcoming, friendly, generous and kind. The town is beautiful and there is a wonderful beach at the end of the street. We had an excellent experience and are very appreciative. Thanks so much for hosting us!
Thank you for the quick one nighter. Your place was easy to find with excellent amenities. Also met your roommate who was very friendly. Thank you for hosting us even though you got to go RVING too!
We absolutely had a wonderful stay at The Rocket Pad! Our hosts were very friendly and also very accommodating to us. We would highly recommend this spot and will be back again, I’m sure!
We are so grateful to our generous hosts for their hookups and kindness, and it was great getting to know you a bit better one of the nights! Thank you for everything!
Simply put - this couple took care of my family like we were rockstars! Not only were they available to answer every query they invited us in and were happy to extend our stay.
There spot is just blocks from the ocean and a ferry ride to Long Island.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
We loved staying at Rockett Pad. Our host was so accommodating and kind! The Rockett Pad is located in a beautiful town with cute shops and places to eat just a short walk away. It is also very close to the beach and it was lovely walking down to the shore while we were there. A cute and cuddly cat who is friendly and playful lives at the Rockett Pad so if you are a cat person you will be delighted. I really enjoyed playing with that little guy! We can't thank our host enough for his kind hospitality. Hope to be able to spend time there when we are back in town. Thanks so much!
