We enjoy traveling, meeting new people, fishing, hiking, kayaking, and almost anything outdoors. . We are new RV owners and can't wait to host guest, visit new places and share stories. Hoping to find some safe places places for our daughter to stay while she travels the US and Canada.
We are outdoor enthusiast with experience in fishing, hunting, hiking and kayaking. Willing to share our corner of LA (Lower Alabama)
Yes
Lab mix Zeke and Lab mix Elvis, both are rescues.
Zeke is a Therapy dog and enjoys going to schools to visit kids, he is a constant companion. He is friendly to people and other animals. Elvis is April's services dog and although a little shy, is very easy going. We usually travel with our dogs.
We are new to boondocking but love to travel everywhere.
Ozark, Alabama
Small travel trailer. We do not have a generator so electrical hookup would be appreciated. Water hookup is not a necessity but would be a plus. Pulled by a Ford F150. April travels in a Dodge Conversion Van.
April and Elvis stayed with us for about a week. They were absolutely no trouble. Elvis was well behaved (even though one of our cats didn't seem to like him), and the time spent with April was enlightening. We spoke of our travels, had a bonfire, and shared a couple meals. All in all it was a great visit!
Didn't get to spend much time with them as our schedule was quite busy. I did get the chance to meet Ken on my way to work . Through his field of work he was able to help us to identify our issues we're having keeping the pond clean.
Look forward to the next chance to host them.
This was our first time hosting and couldn’t have had a better experience. The Weathers, dogs included, were a joy to have stay in our yard. We will definitely welcome them back and would love to be their guests in the future!
Super nice. Left fresh blueberries as a wonderful thank you. So therefore, thank you!!
Absolutely enjoyed our guests, so interesting to talk with them. They are welcomed back anytime.
It was our pleasure to host WWeathers! So fun to meet like minded travelers on this journey. Please keep in touch and bring Zeke to visit your new fishing hole any time!! :) :) :)
We kayaked down the river and had dinner with them. Shared a lot o good times and conversations. Loved it!!
Would definitely recommend them on your property! A very nice family!
Sweet young girl. Yes, I know, she is a young adult woman, but we are retired and she is younger than our daughters, so she is a girl to us. Pleasant stay, no problems. Her listing is for herself and her parents, but she was traveling alone when she stayed in our driveway.
April was a good guest. I was kind of busy while she was here and didn’t get to spend much time with her, but a good experience. I recommend her as a guest.
April is a wonderful young woman! We had great conversation and fun times with our puppies!
We wish you well on your travels and look forward to your Instagram and blog posts!
What a treat seeing someone so boldly explore all that this wide world has to offer! Such an optimistic young woman, and a pleasant conversationalist, happy to have her best bud as her traveling companion. Would have loved to have talked more around a campfire as that's where some of the best stories are shared, but Mother Nature was not participating this week. The weather certainly didn't dampen this guests spirits though! Safe travels, young lady, and enjoy your adventures!

Loved having WWeathers! Communication was easy and she was a delight to have around.
Very respectful of our space and very welcome to boondock again with us!
Great people make this a really good thing to do. I have met some great people and they just keep coming. Thanks, and I hope you enjoyed your stay. Travel Safe !!!!!!!!!!
April was fun and an interesting young woman. She was also a very considerate guest. It was a pleasure to show her some of the beauty we have here in Applachia. It takes a lot of confidence and maturity to do what she is doing. We wish her and Elvis the best in her journey, and hope to see her again.
NICE PERSON TO TALK WITH. WE SAT IN THE BACK YARD AND TALKED ABOUT INRESTING PLACES WE HAD BOTH BEEN TO. YOU ARE WELCOME BACK ANYTIME
They were wonderful host. Their property was amazing and we will enjoy the memory of us staying here for years to come. We would recommend them to anyone. 10/10
Friendly and helpful couple with nice country lot. There was a half mile walking path around the back of their lot to get your legs working again. I hope to stay here next time we are passing through this way.
Great place to stay. Easy to get there. So hospitable. Shared fresh eggs with us. Loved meeting Zeke. Invited us to Wednesday evening UMC dinner and Bible study. Great hiking. Definitely will return when in the area...or meet up when traveling.
Spent a night on way to winter job. Nice folks, enjoyed a nice walk with host though nearby forest. Look forward to stopping again.
K & W are absolutely great hosts. Had a great time. Love it hat we could reconnect after we hosted them. Hope to see them again. Absolutely recommend this host
W & K were very generous and caring for our comfort. Our furnace was on the blink and they loaned us a small propane portable heater that helped a lot.
We joined in their church bible study and dinner one night, the fellowship and meeting new friends was a terrific plus to the visit:)
The location is quiet and secluded, enjoyed hearing the rooster wake us up.
There is a Loves truck stop about 20 minutes away with rv dump.
Thanks to Wweathers for their hospitality. Very accommodating with electric, guiding us into our spot... 150+ acres of beautiful pine forests with a walking trail, and fresh eggs from their henhouse in the morning.
They are welcome to stay with us, any time.
A bit uneven to park but more than made up for with water / elec / WiFi.
He came and helped us tuck in for the night, and was a very nice person to meet.
Thanks for hosting me, even though my dates moved up! Got to go on a nice hike with the host. Made it to my spot for winter and hope to stop again in the spring or 2020.
A beautiful and quiet site. We will try to stay here again sometime. Thanks for sharing your site with us.
Wendy and Ken were great hosts. I didn’t get to spend much time with them because they went to work in the morning but they offered electricity which was wonderful as it was a very warm night, as well as WiFi. They have a very large property and in the morning I took a walk in the woods before I left. The location was a little out of the way but very quiet and a great location for an overnight between Huntsville and Jacksonville FL. It would be nice to go back and explore the area a little more. Thanks so much, Wendy and Ken.
We stayed one night at LAHaven. Wendy was out of town, but Ken was there to meet us. He could not have been a more pleasant or nicer person. We would go out of our way to stay with them again. He graciously provided water and 20 amp service, visited with us, gave us advice on what to do while there, and was wonderful with our little dogs. We hiked on his property down to a river, spent a few hours in downtown Ozark where we enjoyed the little shops and ate at a super friendly restaurant/bar with great food. We stayed on a Saturday night and Ken invited us to his church on Sunday morning for a delightful breakfast, Sunday school, and service. We expected to have a place to stay for a night in route to our final destination in Florida, but the stay was a big part of our trip and the beach will have to be amazing to live up to the great time we had in Ozark. People like Ken are what make this country great.
We have a very large rig so our experience up the driveway was a little hairy but we made it and everything was good. the hosts were very nice but we only stayed overnight ,leaving early morning.were offered some amenities which we did not need the overall experience was a very good one.
Our 1st Boondockers Welcome (BW) stay, beautiful, level site, countryside setting, cool weather, friendly and helpful host, 2 bars LTE, would stay again. Thank you hosts!
My wife, 2 boys and myself stayed at LA Haven for one night. We were travelling to Florida and needed a place for one night. WWeathers were more than accommodating. They let us hook up to electricity and offered water hookup too. The property is beautiful. I wish we had more time but were restrained due to my youngest ones school vacation time. We will definitely stay again if we come through that way. I highly recommend LA Haven!
Ken and Wendy were excellent hosts--we felt right at home. Their property was lovely and they are just the NICEST people! They were very accommodating, gave us some great recommendations for sightseeing, and even invited us along on a fishing trip, though sadly we had to hit the road early in order to make our next stop. We'd love to visit again the next time we're in the area! I'd highly recommend a stay with Ken and Wendy anytime. :)
Shh don't tell anyone...these folks are great! A very pleasant stay, campfire, hiking & good stories to share. There was another Boondocker couple there as well, plenty of room for all. A must stop if you are travelling in eastern Alabama, thanks again, Wendy, April & Ken!
We only got to spend one night here, and we wish we could have stayed longer. Sweet, friendly family, including dogs, cats and chickens! Beautiful setting, and they own property across the road where we were able to hike down to the river and enjoy checking out the critter tracks along the way. Would definitely stay here again!
Ken & Wendy were great and accommodating hosts.
They gave us access to all their property to Rome free.
We were unable to spend more time with them because they had to work.
Would stay here again
Thanks
Great host most accommodateing, to bad we were so tired, would have loved to have conversed more maybe next time
I only stayed at this location for one night, but it was a lot of fun. The hosts are friendly and welcoming, and I enjoyed chatting with all of them. The location is quiet and dark, with wooded walking paths which I enjoyed with my dogs. They offered E/W near their house but I opted to boondock a little further into the yard. I highly recommend this stay if you're passing through the area!
