2016 Newmar Canyon Star with 2slides. When we tow we use a GMC Terrain.
What a wonderful family. We thoroughly enjoyed having them stay with us. I just wish my outlet on the house wouldn't have kept tripping the breaker. Looking at the rings of Saturn was such an amazing experience through their telescope. I will never forget it. Thank you for letting my boys experience that. Highly recommend this family as a guest anytime. I hope to see them again, hopefully traveling ourselves someday.
Great communication and very helpful. We were able to find the camping spot just fine. Host was very friendly and kind. The evening was quiet and loved going to sleep hearing the crickets. We stayed overnight. Thank you again for letting us stay.
Thanks to the host for a quick response to our request. We were just needing as easy stop in our travels and this fit the bill. The conscientious host even called to confirm the directions as he wasn’t on site. Once again, BW has been an amazing community!
While our host Dan wasn't on site, we were still able to talk to him to clarify where exactly to park. It's a perfect spot to stay, only drawback, the monster mosquitoes from all the rain. But hey, next to the river it's expected. Thanks so much!! If we're in this area again we'll definitely stay again.😃
We had a great overnight stay with PSI500. We were provided excellent directions on how to find their place and had a sweet spot near a river. This was also a last minute stay and they were super fast to respond and accommodate. Thanks again!
Dan was so kind to direct us to his river camp even though he was not there that night. It has a nice grassy lawn To park on and it’s about 50 steps from a very broad beautiful river with majestic riverbottom trees. We were there on a Saturday so there were more people (But not a problem) fishing than would be there during the week, when it is said to be extremely quiet. There was 30 amp electric and sewage available. Dan was delightful to chat with on the phone and very helpful. Only 2 miles off a major road, Indiana Hwy 41.
Nice place along the way .
We stop there for only one night.
And Although we havent met psi500, he was really helpful when guiding us about his place and he even gave us a very valuable information regarding our trip.
Hello
Sorry that I am late to say thank you for the stay at river camp.
very quiet and the river did not overflow Thank you again Walter
Quiet spot but not easy for GPS to find. (Ours put us on abutting property.) Host was there to greet us and helped direct us to the site.
Best part was the delightful chat with him by his campfire. It would be hard to find a more laid-back, genuine soul.
We did not get to meet the owners but a neighbor greeted us and asked if we needed anything. We picked this location because it said « off leash area « and we have two dogs. When we arrived we were greeted by three good sized dogs. So I guess off leash area means everyone is off leash. 😂 the dogs look really tough but are really super sweet so we had no problems. Ours played with one in the river.
But ultimately we had to leash ours because we couldn’t get them to stay out of the river! They love the water.
This is a very quiet camp ground. We were able to dump our sewage which I was helpful to lighten the load for the next leg home.
Our host showed up the next day and spent a couple days there. He is a great guy and his son was a really nice guy. We had a few talks and I learned a little about the area. Like the time change right across the river from where we were camped. It was extremely hot while we were there. But were supplied with electrical hookup sewer and water. How nice is that! Pretty nice of people to share such a nice setup. We will return someday I hope when it isn't so hot. Thank you for the stay. It was just what we needed.
Peaceful, but beware of soft ground. The soil is so fertile that it can be VERY soft if there is any moisture. It rained during the night, so I had to persuade the neighboring farmer to pull me out. Probably wound have been OK if I;d kept one side on the gravel, partially blocking the road, but that would have been preferable to the ruts the tractor and I left in the grass. Other than that, a nice stay, with great communication with the hosts.
Dan was not there but was ok with us boondocking. He sent us detailed directions and was very welcoming on the phone. If ur looking for off the beaten path and tranquility. This is the place.
We stayed 3 days here on our way to Nashville from Illinois.
Although Dan was not at the host site, he was very thorough in communicating the site details and directions. We had a great stay at his site. The neighbors were also very helpful and friendly. There was a get together nearby with a band for celebrating July 4th and we were invited and made to feel welcome.
Everything was just as described on this site with water, 30 amp electric and sewer. The access is a little winding, with the last 1/4 mile in gravel, but I had no trouble getting our 34ft. motor home with car hauler to the site.
I recommend this site to anyone passing through!
This site is well set up with full hookups right across from the White River. My host was unable to be on site but his son took over the job of greeting me and helping me to choose a spot to park my trailer/truck. The rain that happened all night did create some issues but I was well taken care of. This is a nice site tucked back off the highway that is much like a regular campground and if I was in the area again I would stay here. Thanks so much for your hospitality.
