A great place in the country to relax or commute to the beaches! Im a recurring visitor now!! These guys are the best!
We had a very brief stay. Our host was very helpful and sure wish we could have stayed longer. Beautiful area, and close to lots of things to do.
I had a great stay at Mary in Dan’s Redtail retreat .. I met both Mary and Dan and they were lovely people… Thanks so much !! I can pretty much confirm that I will be staying there again in the future if it’s OK with you folks…
Very nice people, we felt welcome, nice spot, very quiet. Nice first experience for us :)
It was my first experience with boondockers welcome and I am very happy that it was with Dan and Mary. Their little paradise is perfect and I had all the space I needed. It was a pleasure to chat with them and I hope to have the chance to see them again someday. Thank you Dan and Mary ... you are welcome at my place in Rimouski anytime you want.
Dan and Mary were so gracious to let us stay at their retreat.Retreat is a good description for the place as it is green and lush and expansive, out in the country. It was fun to see chickens out strolling on the lawn for their evening walk when we arrived. We didn't get to meet Dan but did Mary, who we felt we could have known for a long time, an instant bond.
We hope on one of their trips to California that they look us up!
Thank you for the great stay.

I had originally requested to stay with my hosts for a single night and was approved shortly thereafter. I contacted them a few hours later as my arrangements to moochdock had fallen through. Dan could not be more understanding or accommodating. My original single night stay turned in to 3 nights and was very relaxing. The property is rural and the boondocking site is next to the garage, about 50 yards from the house. Dan and Mary greeted me and encouraged me to walk around the property at me leisure. Very serene and peaceful location. Very positive experience and highly recommend!
We didn't get to spend to much time with Dan and Mary since we are traveling thru and stayed for one night but we enjoyed our stay. Our Google maps had their address in a different location but that's due to Google maps not the host so make sure you read all of the driving instructions. Other than that they are both very friendly and their older dog loved playing with Jag. It is also close to Kennebunkport and Portland so if you are in the area we highly recommend staying with them.
Maggie and I had a lovely, but short visit with our hosts! Maggie loved playing with their furry family and running in the fields. Enjoyed visiting but wished I’d had more time! Turns out we have a dancer friend in common!! Hopefully they’ll come visit me in Louisiana. I promised to teach them how to dance zydeco. 😁
We feel so lucky to have stumbled upon Redtail Retreat. D&M were so nice and accommodating. We were a little longer than their limit and they said they had room for us. We got there much later than expected and they treated us like old friends. If you get the chance to stay here, don’t pass it up. Some of the most genuinely nice people you’ll meet. Plus you might learn a thing or two, They are pretty handy.
Dan and Mary are such wonderful people. They gave me a tour of their impressive farm and gave me fresh veggies. They offered electric and a space that would pretty much accommodate any sized rig. I was so happy to have met such incredible people. This is why this site is so amazing.
Dan and Mary were very welcomng and helpful. They have a lovely place, well Located. I am very grateful for this first experience Boondocking!
Dan and Mary are very awesome hosts. They welcomed us on their beautiful property and told us to check it out. Told us we were welcome to use the screened area and take a dip in their pool. Their calm personalities made us feel at home. Thank you for suggesting we check out Acadia National Park, it was as wonderful as you described. We would definitely stay at Redtail Retreat again.
Thanks for sharing your paradise with us.

Our Garmin was off on the address, but when we spotted the red tail sign we knew that we were at the right place. Our host greeted us and showed us where to park and invited us to enjoy the yard with a pool, garden and gazebo. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the gazebo. We appreciated being able to plug in to the 30 amp electric outlet. Our overnight stay was very peaceful and quiet in a lovely rural area. We would love to stay here again in the future.
Peaceful, quiet setting within short drive of Kennebunk and Kennebunkport. Several outdoor "rooms" to relax in-or-out of the sun. These folks have beautiful spirit, and love of nature and simplicity. Perfect for us!
Dan and Mary were wonderful hosts for our first Boondocker visit. Easy spot to park and elec hook up. Dan was quick to respond and welcomed us when we arrived. Their place was close to the coast and easy to explore places. Thankfully they had a pool we could use as the temperature was in the high 90s. 😎
