Since we both have jobs that we can do from anywhere, we decided to pull up stakes and start roaming in 2010. We enjoy the simplicity that comes with living in a house on wheels, seeing the country from coast to coast and meeting incredible people along the way. When we're not working and planning our travel logistics, we enjoy being outdoors and active - hiking, diving, sailing, kayaking, biking...did I mention hiking?
One grown daughter working on her PhD in geophysics - she WISHES she had time to travel with us!
We will enjoy getting our pet therapy from your pets. We love them but they don't fit into our travel formula.
Wherever we can be completely off the grid!
Colette - originally from southern Minnesota - the "warm" part. Jim - from Michigan and Southern California. Neither of us are fans of snow and cold weather, so we've both been gone from our home towns for a long time. Upper Midwest is a great place to be "from". :-)
We have a 2011 Tiffin Phaeton, purchased used a couple years ago and in excellent condition. We tow a 2012 Jeep Wrangler. We have solar panels and dry camp or boondock as much as we can. We try to minimize our footprint, including running our generator only when necessary. Our RV has four slides, but we get along pretty well so it's not a problem if we don't put the slides out for a night or two.
Great couple who shared their experience with us about their travels together. We watched them enter our driveway with the wife navigating by portable radio to her husband who was in the drivers seat in the big "Coach".
They spent two days with us but we're very busy do to their work schedule which they operate from the Coach. We were able to connect with them just before they left and they graciously invited inside of their work and pleasure home. Wow what a beautiful work place and two of the best people we have ever met while being involved with Boon dockers.
My wife and I both agreed that this couple are the greatest to be hosting for what ever amount of time they need and hopes to see them again.
