We are Dan and Laura, future full-time RVers. We are working hard to rid ourselves of debt, and finish renovations to our house, before setting off on our RV adventure. We look forward to meeting other full-timers, and hosting them at our house.
RV newbies, but we try to be gracious hosts and will help you with anything that we can.
We have one super-sweet, 60-pound German Shepherd named Raven.
Advance, North Carolina, just outside of Winston-Salem.
We stopped for just one night on our way west. Communication about the stay was excellent. They were home to greet us when we arrived. Backing in was a little tight with our 38 foot fifth wheel, but we made it with no issues.
They are super friendly and we enjoyed visiting with them. Raven was a ball of energy, running all around the fenced back yard. Was totally surprised that in spite of all her bounding around, she does not jump up on you.
We enjoyed our stay. Very quiet at night. Hope to meet up in Asheville.
This was my first experience with Boondockers Welcome and I must say I have been SPOILED! D and L and their adorable German Shepard Roxie (the namesake of the property) were the most gracious, friendly, and just plain COOL people I have met in a long time. They were accommodating and helpful during my stay. Their driveway was more than ample for my 19' camper and tow vehicle. Plenty of room for much larger rigs I imagine. The power is 115v (so bring your 30A to 15A dogbone). It was more than enough to run my TV and heater at night and they provided water too.
Make sure you follow the directions they provide and you'll have a seamless path to their property.
They have a camper and hope to do what I am doing and go full-time. They gave me a tour of their rig and I mine, and we exchanged experiences, stories, and dreams. They even invited me to a movie-night they were having with their friends when they didn't have to.
Do yourself a favor and stay with MissPups if you're in this neck of the woods. You'll be glad you did.
Host's were both amazing - helped us navigating backing into the driveway, provided ideas on fun places to go with the kids, and even helped with transferring some vinyl on to our RV - location was great, peaceful, safe, & quiet - plus, really nice neighbors and lots of friendly dogs nearby (including Miss Pups!). Easy drive into Winston-Salem too! Our dog loved having a little free-reign in the fenced in yard - nice to let him off the leash a bit!
(Thanks so much you guys!!)
Nice couple with a cute shepherd. Had a relaxing overnight stay with great hospitality in a lovely neighborhood. Hope you get to the southwest sometime.
Nice quiet place. Really loved the area!! They were very kind with us. We recommend this place. :)
Driving Miss Pups boondocking site accommodated us when we couldn’t find a campground in the area that had an available site while visiting our son and his family. We didn’t even know our hosts were around. We finally knocked on their door to introduce ourselves. Very nice young couple with the dream of seeing our great country. They had just purchased their first travel trailer and excited for their maiden voyage. Perfect site, concrete driveway and very quiet. Hopefully their site will be available when we visit our son and his family next time. Would love to hear about their great adventures!
Comfortable spot in a semi-rural area close to Clemmons and Winston-Salem. Easy directions and access and enthusiastic and supportive hosts. This is an area well worth a longer visit!
Oh these people are wonderful! We were their first Boondockers and definitely shouldn’t be their last. We had a wonderful time talking about dogs and RV life and just really enjoyed our time in their pleasant, quiet neighborhood.
Their driveway was great, pretty easy to maneuver into with our 30’ fifth wheel and my dog loved having a fenced in yard to romp around in. He even did some laps along the fence with the neighbor’s dog.
Thanks again CrowsGo!!
