Active retirees who love adventure and also flying! We are just completing an RV14A airplane building project. We love helping build churches with a group called Maranatha! We have five adult children between us and nine beautiful grandchildren. Our home is in Grand Junction, Colorado.
We both enjoy building churches, we typically put up framing, windows, doors and some plumbing and electrical (as helpers to the pros!)
We also built an RV 14 airplane that we’ve flown across the United States!
“B”was in Home health businesses for many years. “M” was a Labor and Delivery room nurse for many years.
None, except our little stuffed poodle, named OoLaLa. She is very easy to take care of, and never makes a sound!
Anywhere on God’s green earth!
B is originally from Portland, Oregon. M is from Northern California, but has not lived there for many years. We have lived in Grand Junction, Colorado for 8 years.

While I didn’t have much time to spend, it was a pleasure talking with them and learning about their goals
We spend a great time there, Bernie and Marti are amazing, they are very friendly and kind, we enjoyed chatting with them, hope to see them again.
Colorado Western Slope was a much needed refuge from my weary travels and exhausting heat and I couldn’t have asked for more hospitable or kinder hosts.
The location was great; I was able to get pretty level in the gravel parkway just to the side of their driveway and hookup.
A short bike ride into the cool little downtown; town to see everything; nearby to Palisade, James Robb State Park and Colorado National Monument.
What a blessing! Thank you so much!
I would be delighted to stay again if I pass through and hope to host this lovely couple at my home.
We had an interesting conversation about their home-built aircraft and upcoming flight to the Oshkosh fly-in.
Best night sleep ever. The hosts were awesome. Even sent me away with a bag of grapes from their vine.
Very clean, quiet. Hosts were more than friendly and very accommodative. Hope to see them at our place in Yuma in the winter .
The hosts we some of the friendliest I’ve met and their home is in a beautiful location. Would definitely recommend them if you are in the area.
very grateful for these wonderful couple, even more so for their hospitality in 4th of July weekend. Hope to make it back again!
2 of the most genuinely nicest people I've ever met. Wish I could have spent more time with them.
We could not have asked for more helpful or welcoming hosts! They made sure we had everything we needed, and gave us some excellent tips for the next leg of our journey. So happy we met them!
Welcoming hosts and good location for exploring the Grand Junction area!
Perfect quiet place to stop for the night. Gracious hosts. Highly Reccommend.
We unfortunately didn’t get to meet the hosts but they kindly let us stay and gave us lots of tips for the local area. The spot is flat, quiet and safe. Very close to the downtown area and Colorado National Monument. Highly recommend. Thanks again!
It was pleasure to stay with Bernie and Marti in Grand Junction.
We felt honored to be the first boondockers welcomed at their place. They took care for everything we needed and we felt absolutely comfortable. It was fun to talk to them about their experiences in Germany and Austria.
We totally recommend to stay with that warm-hearted couple. Please let us know when you come to visit Southern Germany again some time!
