Have been retired from teaching for several years and enjoy traveling in my 30 foot motorhome w/friend Gloria and Miss Buffington (my dog). We have traveled many places in US and stayed mainly at National/State Parks, Army Corps of Engineers, and public lands. We find these to be most conducive to scenic beauty w/hikes, kayaking, birding, etc.. . . and usually less expensive.
I enjoy many interests & activities . . hiking, kayaking, reading, Tai Chi, clogging, biking, roller blading, playing the guitar/piano, sewing, being a docent at a nearby one-room schoolhouse, substitute teaching ............
Not sure what I could share, but definitely have some knowledge of lots of natural areas that are great for camping.
We especially like camping at "Assateague Nat'l Seashore" with the wildlife, esp. the wild ponies. "Hovenweep Nat'l Monument" near the western 4 corners was a real fine. . . . we hiked around the ruins in a late spring snowstorm. And "Valley of the Fires Nat'l Monument" in NM has been visited many times. One of the latest ones we visited was Hot Springs Nat'l Park. . . such a beautiful setting and right outside of the city.
Class A 30 ' Winnebago w/tow car. . . has 2 slides. 2005 and no funky decorations. . . its name is Minnie.
