My wife is 65 and I'm 67 years old. We are both retired. We live in a small house, close to the city of Utrecht. We like to meet new people all over the world.
My profession was working in education as a educationalist, my last job was in a large school (20.000 students) as a compliance officer and manager. My wife was a teacher in history. I like to work in the garden, she likes reading, we both love nature, biking, walking and hiking.
We have been travelling with tents for a couple of years in the USA,
Now we have a 21 ft long, 7 ft wide and 9 feet high Camper-van. We shipped it from Europe to Halifax in Nova Scotia.
We love this camper-van and have taken it in Europe from The Netherlands to Spain, Portugal, Tjechie, Italy, the Faroer and Iceland. Our next goal was Canada and the USA. We traveled in May 2018 till the end of September from Nova Scotia to Vancouver and from the North to the south of the USA. We liked this very much.
Now we are traveling from December till May 2019 from California to the East of the USA.
My wife loves history.
We like to talk about the Netherlands and surrounding and about things to must see.
No we do not have pets in our campervan.
We have very good experience with boondocking in Canada and the North of the USA. We are planning a trip with our camper-van in Canada and the USA for two times 5 mounts from May 2018 till May 2019.
Zeist in The Netherlands, near Utrecht and 25 miles from Amsterdam.
It is a Campervan
We loved our visit with Ger and Emma---sharing some pointers and ideas about travel and adventure. We loved hearing stories about the Netherlands and European travel/living was super fun. We really enjoyed getting to know them even if it was just a little bit!
Enjoyed having them visit albeit brief. They have embarked on a most in interesting and I am sure, challenging adventure. A very nice couple and are always welcome to return Godspeed to them.
I very much enjoy meeting citizens from other nations, learning never ends! Having wonderful, easy going people come to my vineyard is always great. My dog Jake sure loved you, was depressed for a while. Come back when you get a chance!
We hosted gerenemma while they visited Calgary. Interesting people on a fabulous North American journey. They were an absolute pleasure to host and to get to know. We wish them well on the rest of their journey and would welcome them back any time.
Hosting Ger and Emma was a pleasure. If you get a chance, welcome them to your spot. If you are lucky you will have more time to visit that all our schedules permitted, We would have loved to learn more about their travels.
So enjoyed your visit and hope you got to see a lot of the sights in the area. Also enjoyed sharing a glass of wine and conversation about similaries in our two countries. My hubby says he is so sorry to have missed you. Great guests. You are welcome any time.
It was nice to meet Gerenemma. They were excellent guests. Nice to talk about the Netherlands with them as I had just come home a few days earlier from a bike trip. They’re planning on a great adventure for a year throughout North America. We wish you well.
It was wonderful to meet these adventurous travellers who are enjoying an epic journey in their smart camper. They had a good stay in Ottawa and got to tour the Parliament Buildings and the Byward market. I hope they find lots of friendly Boondockers to stay with.
They had interesting observations about Canada. They said we were very multicultural, very integrated and everyone seems to get along so well. Nice to hear!
Lovely couple with many interesting stories!
I definitely recommend them, without hesitation.
A pleasure to host ,wish them all the best in their journeys .
Happy to meet ,sorry to part ,happy to meet again !
