Build my own teardrop trailer and about to embark on a three month roadtrip across the US. Plan to make a big counterclockwise circle starting in PA and will hopefully be staying with friends/boondockers/campgrounds most of the time.
Since I have a mini cooper as my primary vehicle, I build, using plans and a kit from Chesapeake Light Craft, a wooden teardrop trailer where my traveling companion and I can sleep and that also has a counter kitchen space. Mostly running battery powered, I won't have my own bathroom so would be great if you agree to host me, if you would be so kind as to allow the use of your bathroom.
I'm really excited to discover more about this great country, especially since I just became a citizen last year after living here since '99 on a greencard. I've lived most my life in PA and NJ and live being outdoors and meeting enw people.
What I've learned about woodworking and a small electrical setup from my teardrop trailer build, I can share. Also, good with computers and social media (what millennial isn't). Play the trumpet and know German, Slovak, and Czech (not sure how transferable those skills are).
No pets (sadly).
Haven't boondocked before! Gone backpacking which can be considered boondocking without a vehicle in Harriman State Park in NY.
Ambler, PA but currently live outside of Newark NJ.
Mini cooper towing a Chesapeake Light Craft teardrop trailer. Trailer only has space to sleep and a hatch opening in the back for a kitchenette section. Would need access to bathroom if possible
mini_and_me stop by for a short visit and was a pleasure to host. Interesting journey and even more of an interesting camper they travel in. We welcome them back if they visit our area again.😀
What an amazing young lady! Built the coolest teardrop trailer. Can't wait for her and her sister to come back and spend some more time. Good luck on your trip and have a wonderful journey.
