We are an active retired couple living in the Burbank Washington area of south-central Washington State. We enjoy camping, fishing, hiking, boating, canoeing, bicycling, gardening, and other outdoor activities. Living where we do we are accustomed to having great local wines and in-season fresh veggies from our garden.
We are active campers and have a triple slide truck camper that we use when traveling and tow either a boat or toad with us when we head out. Whenever possible we like to boondock and enjoy the remote areas and quiet spots that often go with boondocking.
Finally, our faith is the most important part of who we are and we maintain an active fellowship with the Riverview United Methodist Church in Pasco.
We look forward to meeting fellow boondockers who need a safe place to stay
Dave is a certified welder and enjoys sharing his skill as a welder and fabricator. I have the equipment to weld almost any metal. Wendy has expertise in kayaking and canoeing and growing a great garden!
We have no pets.
We've found several in Nevada, Oregon, and Utah. BLM land is a favorite for us as are the National Forests and some state lands.
Our hometown is Burbank, Washington which is about 12 miles from Pasco, Washington. Burbank is in Walla Walla County.
We will be hauling a HOST truck camper and have our GMC Canyon in tow. The total length is about 45 feet for the whole rig.
They just came in for the night and left in the morning but were wonderful guests and are welcome back anytime. I really appreciate how much they appreciated my views. Thanks so much for the gift you left me!
Enjoy meeting them and talking about a new area to explore thanks
Very considerate couple willing to ask and pay for electricity, very much appreciated.
Set us up on the back of the property and invited to relax in there garden. Great stay. Definitely would stop again.
An easy and simple stay with the riddleramblers. Great communication was provided and the location is simple to locate. I very much appreciate them for allowing me to use their property to stay overnight. Thanks and enjoy.
We had a wonderful time with the Riddleramblers. Beautiful views in all four directions. We were met at the driveway led to a site out back with water and power available. Lots of song birds to wake up to and a really nice surprise parting gift. We even got to share some music with the whole family. Great, great time, thanks so much Riddleramblers.
This was our first experience with boondocking, and it was perfect. Our hosts provided a wonderful location with excellent views and privacy. From here we kayaked and swam and hiked. On one exceptionally windy day we took a LONG drive to Marysville WA to see the Stonehenge Memorial. I do recommend this if you have time but make sure you have a full tank of gas! There are no gas stations along the route😬
Our hosts were perfect and the polished rocks they gave our grandson will make a great addition to his collection.
Fine accommodations with a lovely grass area to walk the dogs. Lovely host, nice overnight stay.
We were met and directed to the spot which was very level. Nice and accommodating folks. Pleasant and interesting to talk to! One of the most beautiful residential gardens I have ever seen!
So thankful riddleramblers accepted our last minute stay request. He met us on the driveway, showed us where we could set up ( had water and electric ready if we needed it). We enjoyed the view of their beautiful landscaped yard and garden area. The wildlife refuge across the street provided us a wonderful spot to have an evening stroll and morning walk with great views. They're the people we are grateful to meet while on the road. Thank you both for sharing your home with us.🌞The McConnells
Riddleramblers are awesome people and hosts. We so enjoyed our conversation and them. They overlook the Columbia River, with spectacular views. We hope to be back!!! MarcyBen
Riddleramblers greeted us as we arrived and guided us into the available area. Thanks for letting us overnight on your property with a power hookup!
I had pulled off the road too close to make the turn into the driveway while having my toad hooked up, and I didn’t want to go find a place to turn my long rig+toad around, so I unhooked and drove the motorhome and car back separately. I situated myself back there so I could hook up the toad before leaving.
Very friendly hosts, had a lovely conversation when we arrived, sharing travel stories. Parked our van in their driveway, nice and level. Train tracks are in front of the house at the bottom of the hill. My husband slept thru it but I guess I am a lighter sleeper than I realized and could hear the trains throughout the night, so if we were to stay again we would take them up on their offer to park around back instead. If that background noise doesn't bother you then you would have no worries. We appreciated being able to stay there!
The tomatoes were in and the garden was cool against the hot sun that broke the horizon rather warm. All the conditions from 15 amp power to water was perfect.
The RiddleRamblers are what Boondockers Welcome is all about....friends we haven't yet met. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.
We had a very pleasant stay with these folks. They shared tomatoes from their garden and water from their well. There is a train nearby but it was acceptable.
Mini garden retreat, peaceful, easy set up.
I was invited on to the deck where we had a glass of wine. I barely drank it because I had a great time with lovely hosts and fun conversation. Took an early morning walk across the street to the nature preserve by the Columbia. Also left with a few veggies! Thank you thank you thank you!
P.S. Watch the power stand on the end of the driveway
It was just an overnight for us, but our hosts greeted us warmly and were very accommodating. They have a large parking area in a quiet neighborhood. We wish we had had more time to spend there.
This was our first BDW stay and we were very glad to have done it here. Host was super nice, a lot of space in the back and beautiful views of the river from the front and sunrise in the morning. He even offered us to hang out in the garden for a bit though we were just hung out in the camper being worn out.
Thank you for the stay!
This is our first time boondocking with Boondockers Welcome, and the riddleramblers set the bar high for future experiences. Burbank Hideaway has a lot of space for our motorhome. The riddleramblers offered to let me sit under the tree in their beautiful backyard, which provided a wonderful view and cool breezes on a hot day. They even shared some veggies from their garden. Thank you for your hospitality.
Parking is easy, Dave our host gave us a wonderful greeting. I wish I could set up camp right in the middle of their flower garden! So peaceful on the eyes! But don't touch those beautiful roses, ouch! Sarah pelicans flying overhead heading for the wildlife refuge across the road. Bullocks oriole singing in the tree above me. Distant train noise and road noise was not a factor for my sensitive sleeping husband. I only wish Wendy was home, would love to gosh over her growing prowess and pick her brain about her beautiful gardens! Next time!
We so appreciated the flexibility of Dave and Wendy to allow us to spend a night. They are wonderful, caring people who have an amazing view from their home. I don't think I've ever seen so many roses outside a commercial garden! Wish we could have spent more time to visit a bit with them. Will definitely look them up if we come this way again!
Great place for boondocking. The hosts were really nice to us, goveing us a lot of I formation and advices. Very quiet neighborhood and a lot of space for the rig. Highly recommend this place!
Dave and Wendy are wonderful hosts. They provided peace and quiet over a busy holiday weekend. Our walks along their road started with escort by a pair of diligent, chatty killdeer, leading us away from their nest. Robbie got to meet horses and goats along the way. Wendy's garden is indeed gorgeous, and I have never tasted a strawberry so delicious as came from her patch. Dave kindly made sure I had everything I needed and went an extra mile for another couple sharing the docking space. Wendy and I shared a little history and future hopes over a packet of flower seeds. I'm planning a future trip to Washington with a return visit to Burbank. I enjoyed Sacagawea State Park, while Ice Harbor Dam is thrilling and Charbonneau Park is gorgeous. Thank you both so much!
We had a wonderful stay at Burbank hideaway. The rv space was large and tucked away from the road. We felt very secure. The children were able to play freely and we enjoyed visiting the garden.
Our host was so kind and easy to contact. We felt completely at ease the entire time we were on the property.
Thank you Dave and Wendy for the warm welcome and great visit! So nice to get to know you and hope we will see you again. Great location on our route south from B.C. We highly recommend staying at this host location!
Had a wonderful relaxing stay with them, Dave even fixed my water filter. Look forward to staying with them again and hosting them at our place. Thank you for your service Wendy.
Generous and welcoming. It doesn't get any better than this. They were easy to reach off of the highway. Once parked, they welcomed us in and we enjoyed good conversation. The house is across from a wildlife refuge which makes for a beautiful walk.
We spent one night in Burbank, WA with Dave and Wendy for our very first Boondockers Welcome experience and had a great time! They were incredibly friendly and welcoming, showed us where to set up and helped us feel right at home. Their property overlooks the Columbia River and is across the street from a wildlife refuge where I was able to walk our dogs in the evening. We swapped travel stories and enjoyed their company very much! Thank you Dave and Wendy, we very much appreciate your hospitality and hope to be able to meet up again soon!
It was the first boondocking experience for us and we were Dave and Wendy's first guests. There are not enough superlatives to describe the two days we spent with Dave and Wendy but let me try: warm, friendly, fun, interesting, informative, sharing, caring and that was just the first evening! Dave's willing hand, fully equipped workshop and experience were all on hand the following day to solve a tow vehicle problem we were having. Dave was so generous with his time and information about the area... shopping, good places to eat, wineries and the best french fries in town (GRIN). A fabulous view of the river in a quiet spot along with a flat, level place to park your rig complete with water and electricity. What a wonderful surprise to be given the opportunity of picking out our own special polished rock to carry their good wishes with us on our trip! We can't recommend this couple enough. Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts for a fantastic short but very sweet stay.
