Top Shelf! And All That Goes With That!

We can't say enough good things about Geoff. We sat for hours chatting on more than one occasion. He's a well traveled soul with a heart bigger than this planet. Oh he's got some stories... and if you're lucky enough, he'll cook you dinner... a MAJOR TREAT!! Geoff was on a mission for Marianne (she founded BoondockersWelcome) and we were happy to have him stop in at our place while he was working. Now we're planning a trip to Canada to see him again.. but in his element. Geoff, we thank you for choosing us to drop your hat for a spell. We so enjoyed meeting you!!

Best Little Cottage Stay in Canada

Cannot say enough good things about CedarRock and the hosts. Geoff stayed at our BW host site in Texas a while back and with his invitation to stay with them in Canada, we couldn't refuse. I only hope you'll have the chance to stay there sometime since they are not always at the cottage and able to accept guests. Nestled among the tall trees and lush landscape of the Northern Bruce Peninsula just shy of the bay and Lake Huron, we felt right at home from the second we arrived. Nice flat area for parking under tall trees. If you're lucky, you'll get to sit on the back porch of the cottage (we call them cabins) and enjoy the shaded cool breezes and warm conversation. Put your feet up, lay in the hammock and enjoy a glass of wine or local beer or a Canadian Caesar on the rocks... and I do mean rocks... since the decked porch sits on a beautiful natural rock ledge. So many trails to hike with the most phenomenal views of the big lake and bays you'll ever see. All this about the cottage but the most amazing part of our stay were the hosts, who have become dear friends. You'll love them too!

CedarRock Rocks!!

We had a great time at this wonderful piece of heaven, Lovely walk to the lake and a peaceful nights sleep beside a beautiful garden with peonies all in bloom. Geoff was a great host and made us feel welcome. We highly recommend this location.

highly recommended.

I stayed one night in Cedar rock's front yard. He is a very interesting gentleman who took the time to share many tips on boondocking, travel in general and lots of tricks for my own setup.
The conversation was easy and friendly. The site was quiet, the little river can just be heard from across the laneway, easy in and out and has a very nice view of the night sky.
I very much enjoyed my stay and hope to stop by again.
Thank you for your hospitality.

A great guy.

As owner of this, the Boondockers Welcome website, I personally recommend Ireland2018 as a guest or as a host. He's currently accepted a mission to follow the entire route of my Southern Texas Frugal Shunpiker's guide. He's doing a great job! I'll base my 2018 revised updated edition on his reports. It's not a small job! He's reporting back to me with suggested changes and deletions as well as offering additional suggestions for the guide so he may well be open to exploring local suggestions from hosts.

Because his rig is substantially bigger than ours, it won't fit all my boondocking suggestions in the guide. He may need to park for a few days at a time and drive his tow vehicle to the various locations he's reporting on. Geoff is practically a neighbor of ours - lives near our home (in Ontario, Canada) so we've met personally. I can vouch for him as a very sociable, interesting man. As a host, you won't regret accepting his stay request. You'll have my gratitude as well as his.
Thank you!
