I have recently retired from my construction company but occasionally consult with other firms on construction related activities. My wife is currently an environmental contractor. We enjoy traveling both domestically and internationally when time permits and exploring new and different places whenever possible.
Other interest include fishing, hiking exploring.
I owned a construction company so I'm fairly handy with construction related projects. I also like to think of myself as a backyard mechanic!! Haha....
No.
The more remote the better!

Terri and Eddie were a wealth of knowledge based on their extensive years of camping and traveling. Enjoyed hearing their advice and adventures from Alaska to Canada and throughout the USA. Kind, gentle souls who clearly love their 2 sons and daughter in laws, and missed them all as they traveled. Respectful of our property, would highly recommend them as guests again!
Very quiet and respectful couple. I hope to someday see their property. Safe travels.
Enjoyed nightcap immensely and hope to boondock at their home someday.
This was a great location for us to explore Roanoke for a day. The parking spot was nice and quiet, very level and easy to get in and out of. We enjoyed a couple of beautiful sunsets over the surrounding fields. We would definitely say here again. Thank you!!
Once again Lost Mountain was very quiet and relaxing after a day of driving in the rain. The Host met us as we arrived and we chatted a bit. Always friendly and pleasant. He has built a fire pit but the weather wasn’t going to allow us to use it. Maybe next time. We will look forward to staying here again in the future.
Great place close to Blue Ridge. Smlobx met us and helped to get us set up. Answered questions about the area and took the time to show our son around. Didn’t really see much of him but while we were exploring the Blue Ridge they did leave me a birthday card (so sweet).
This property is so conveniently located close to stores & restaurants as well as Roanoke, Smith Mountain Lake and other areas. Plus your host is amazing! You will thoroughly enjoy the blessings of this location as well as the hospitality of the host, Eddie!
We ran into some situations which Eddie was able to assist us with. We are extremely thankful for his kindness!
This location is spacious and quiet although it's near a road. Eddie not only provides electricity, but also a protective cover for the extension cord to your vehicle so that vehicles can drive over the cord without causing damage.
Eddie and his wife were VERY helpful in providing much better directions to their location than GPS! They saved us from driving & pulling a 32' travel trailer over a mountain in heavy fog and pouring rain at night!
This was a perfect spot outside Roanoke to camp well touring Blue Ridge Parkway. The driveway was perfectly level, or host was helpful and interesting and we very much enjoyed our stay. Would recommend if you’re in the area
We had another great night at Smlobx. Great host. We’ll be back.
The Host at Lost Mountain is great. We have stayed there a couple of times and it was always Quiet and peaceful. Plan to stop by again as we head north.
Our hosts were very friendly. He met us at the site and guided us in. Easy parking and quiet overnight. We chatted quite awhile about different places they had been to. If you are in the area we recommend staying here.
After a long day of traveling this was just what we needed. Quiet with a big area for the dogs to run and stretch their legs. Our host met us at the site to make sure we didn't need anything. Very helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay there again if we are ever in the area
This was out 2nd time here. The quietest place around. Very accommodating host and easy to work with. We came back from dinner and our headlights shown out into the fields and about 7-8 deer were feeding there. It proved to us that it was a quiet place.
Hope to be able to stay again in the future.
Smlobx met us upon arrival and we knew right away that we had made the right choice of where to stay for the night. He was very friendly and welcoming and even provided us a recommendation for dinner. We took him up on his recommendation and were very pleased that we did! Our stay was quiet and relaxing. There was plenty of space to maneuver our 37’ Class A and set the stage for a great view of the sunrise the following morning. Happy to stay again and we think anyone else would be, too.
This is the easiest access space you could hope for. Former construction business now just housing an RV or two. Large paved area, 110 electric, quiet and a welcoming host. I was met by my host who made sure that I had everything I needed. Highly recommend.
Great place, super couple, wish we could have stayed longer! Highly recommend.
This host provided a great overnight stop. It was easy to get set up on the large asphalt pad. The site is open to a public road but traffic was not noticeable. Highly recommend!
Could not ask for a better place to stay! We got a flat on our way so arrived a bit later than anticipated but the host was easy to communicate with and was there to meet us when we arrive to help us get set up! The spot is a huge area and very easy to navigate and level. Close to town, beautiful fall trees to look at, would highly recommend staying if you are able to! Thank you for a great stay!
On our return trip from Tennessee we stayed for a second time. Again our host was waiting to greet us with a friendly hand shake, plus welcoming us to stay again if we are in the area. This time we were able to see some deer on the other side of the field. Plenty room for my Silverado short bed, pulling a 29.5 TT to turn around without any effort. Very quiet and we felt safe on during our stay.
Great spot to boondock. Our host met us to get us situated on our site and electric connected. Our host was very pleasant to talk with and offered his help if we needed anything that evening. Paved, pretty level, no blocking was needed. Provided nice quiet lot with a good breeze.
Eddi was a fantastic host. This was our first BoondockersWelcome experience.
As we arrived a couple days after Va received about 12-14 inches of snow, he spent part of his day plowing snow so we could park. To me this was above and beyond what I expected.
Great guy, we will return again someday when it’s a little warmer.
We were pleased with the beautiful view at this quiet location. We were welcomed warmly. We appreciate the call to warn us about a low tire on our Jeep. If we ever pass that way again we will be sure to request another stay.
It was quiet and a great place to celebrate my birthday with my husband. View of mountains was what I loved. No deer unfortunately. Maybe next time. Host was right on with all he said.
Great spot for any type of RV since you can drive in and turn around with lots of room. I was driving a pickup and
pulling a 36 foot TT and had no issue.
The road to the spot can be a bit intimidating with the twist and turns but at a moderate speed it's OK.
Eddie & Terri met us and showed us the layout and gave us several ideas on what to visit while we are in the are.
Level black top by the garage with electric, large lot for Stella to run in and an abundance of deer. What's not to like?
We really appreciated the space. We had a nice visit with the host when we arrived and he allowed us to unhitch so we could go spend the day out without pulling the RV. We spent the day at the Booker T. Washington Memorial, which is just a couple minutes from there, hiking and visiting with friends that lived nearby. A great boondocking experience for us.
