Solo traveler or w/ small well-behaved dog. Retired after 40 yrs in nonprofit community services, after recovering from my own miracle: a successful organ transplant in March 2016. Bought my rig and then sold my house in Oregon after first year RVing full-time.
Currently rolled through 35,000 miles, and love driving the back roads, meeting new people and exploring America. Recently purchased a small townhouse in east Texas as a “home-base” and plan to continue my wanderings 4-5 months a year.
While comfortable solo, am friendly and enjoy sharing stories, exploring diverse environments & cultures. Prefer electric & water access but can be off-grid if aware before camp.
Reader, crocheter, walker, gardener, breadmaker, story-teller, seeker & voyager. After a career in social services, miss being of service. Exploring potential short-term volunteer (2-4 weeks/20-24 hrs a week) "work-camp" opportunities, to utilize varied personal experience and professional skills, within my physical abilities. Am open to your suggestions and ideas!
Yes, a small very well behaved, quiet female dog, who gets along with all friendly animals.
Really am open to varied environments, yet if truly OFF-GRID then honestly prefer moderate temperatures, peaceful, safe locale with easily traversed roads and parking site.
Love hearing suggestions from other RVers!
Born in Long Island NY, lived last 40+ years in Salem, Oregon. Recently purchased a small abode in Texas, yet keeping my wheels and options open.

Joan and trusty doggie Scout were a delight to have at our spot.
We enjoyed the camping discussions and sharing of information about favorite camping sites.
Scout was very laid back!!! No yapping here. Just CUTE and Loveable.

Great guest. We had family commitments so we’re not able to visit much but she is welcome back here anytime.
Enjoyed having Jean and her pup, although it was only for one night.
Great guest and friendly would hope to see her come back sometime.
This was our second visit with JTowers and Scout. We feel very much like old friends or family at this point. She is a delight to have visit. Please come back soon.

Frank & Lynn.
Very nice guest, enjoyed visiting with her. Look forward to seeing her in the future.
Great guest - awesome lady with an adventuresome spirit. Best of luck to you and your travels..
We enjoyed he stay. She is a very brave lady. We wish her luck in her journey.
This was our first experience with BoonDockers Welcome. I actually set up my profile and within a day had our first request. I was so excited. I communicated with her via Boondockers messaging and before she arrived we knew we already had lots in common. She kept me informed of her schedule and arrived right on time. She has a wonderful Shitzu and so do we so they hit it off immediately. The only negative was she had to leave too soon. It was so fun showing her around our "neighborhood" and we've already made plans to cross paths again when we are on our next adventure. Wonderful guest, very quiet and respectful and so appreciative of our hospitality. I would recommend her as a guest to anyone.
joan is a very nice lady i enjoyed her company while she stayed here millie and i had a long conversation with her and her dog , very quiet and respectiful of our property can come back anytime
She knows her unit and herself. Just a great all-around guest! I followed her advice on the crepe myrtles ;)
Joan is a really nice lady. We enjoyed her stay with us. Please come by again.
JTowers stayed with us two nights and three days and was our first hosting experience. This was like welcoming an old friend I had known all my life. You will not find a better guest! We learned from her as she shared her experiences on the road and found that there were many things we had not considered. It was simply the best visit and her pal Scout was a delight to have visiting our furry crew!
Nancy and I enjoyed meetng you and Scout. Have fun in your travels. Your always welcome at our house. Thanks for stopping by.

Joan was delight to host, and was no problem in any way at all. Her little dog Scout was so well behaved that it was hardly even noticeable that she was there. I would recommend her for any other Boondocker Welcome hosts
JTowers and her four leg companion were a pleasure to host. She has logged a lot of mile in a short amount of time and really seems to be embracing the full time lifestyle. I hope she'll make it back for a few more days on her next go around.
