One night stay. Friendly folks that host near one of our favorite sites. I feel sure we will visit again.
Wings were great. Happened to be there on Wednesday which was wings and a live band. Lots of locals but everything was quite by 9. Hope to go back next time thru. Thanks to the owners
Great people felt like home
Excellent!!! Food this is the second time we stayed here and it won’t be our last
Thanks Wanda 😁😁😁😁👌
This was great for a short stay, Nice level parking area a little road noise but it died off at night thank you for letting us stay!
We had a unbelievable weekend at BJ's BBQ. The location was easily accessible and clearly visible. The host Wanda treated us like the family members you like. Very outgoing and down to earth.
BJ's has the best food and service we have experienced in a longtime. It was like
our minds have been read when preparing our meals. Great camping, great food. and friendly people.
Really enjoyed the meal (good quality and good value) and had a peaceful enough stay. Plenty of room for parking. Would definitely stop back. Thanks for the hospitality!
Nice night even with road noise. BJ’s Carolina Cafe has excellent food!! What a pleasure to stay here! Thank you very much!!
Great location, great food and great hosts.
What more could a boondocker ask for.
Had to leave early to return home for my Covid shot ☹️
Spacious grav lot next to the restaurant. Had an enjoyable dinner of crab cakes and shrimp! Great location to stay and close to the Outerbanks locations you will want to check out.
Our stay was wonderful. Large parking area & easy set up. Cafe was family run, lots of southern hospitality. Ate dinner 2 nights, Great crab cakes, melt in you mouth Cornbread served with dinner. Various Menu items. Always left stuffed. Didnt try their breakfast but the menu looked good.
Wanda was very welcoming, enjoyed chatting with her.
Cafe is on a busy highway there is noise, but at night not so much. Beautiful sunsets each night. Easy access to OBX area, must stop Wrights museum/ kitty hawk.
Host was wonderful with communication! Sadly, we stayed when the restaurant was closed. We would have loved to have sampled the cuisine. Overall, great easy stay!
Thanks for a great visit! Although we didn’t get to meet our host in person she was a wonderful host. We appreciated the great communication.
The location was perfect for exploring several National Park sites (Wright Brothers, Fort Raleigh, Cape Hatteras). There was some road noise since you’re parked right off the main road but it slows down at night.
Easy to find since it’s on the main road, plenty of flat parking. Close enough to visit beaches and attractions. Food was delicious!! Can’t wait to visit again!
Big lot with plenty of space to maneuver, next to the road so you hear some traffic at night but I slept through most of it fine. This is the important part! The food here was sooo good! The first night I got the black and blue burger and was very impressed! The second I got wings and they were literally the best wings I’ve ever had, maybe it’s a southern thing but the way they were I’ve never had before!
Close to the beaches and the winery up the street was delicious too!
We had a quiet and uneventful stay with the highlight being our delicious seafood takeout dinners - everything was great, even the cornbread and coleslaw, which I’m very picky about. This is a convenient and easy place to stay on the way to the Outer Banks and would definitely stay here again.
Unfortunately we didn’t get to meet Wanda but all of our interactions by phone with her and in person with her staff were great! Nice level spot with plenty of space and good food. Thank you so much Wanda and the Cafe crew!
Perfect spot to fill your belly with good food, friendly hospitality, let the pups run around a little and while a little road noise was safe and convenient.
Definitely will be back through.
This space was just as described, a very large empty parking lot right off the road! Our 30 foot rig had no problem finding a spot, turning around, and backing in with the large space in the lot. The lot where RVs park is on the right side of the restaurant and customers mainly park on the left side lot, so it stays pretty quiet. You do hear a bit of noise from the road, but there's not a lot of traffic on it (at least when we stayed, but it was off-season) so it's not bad at all. We slept peacefully! The stars were beautiful. There was one other RV the first night we stayed and a van the second night. There is definitely plenty of room for more rigs too though. The location is less than 20 minutes from the Outer Banks beaches! We loved spending our days there and then also being able to come back for a nice warm dinner and a beer at the restaurant followed by the shortest walk home to our RV as possible. We didn't get to meet the host in person, but they were extremely friendly, welcoming, and kind over text! Gave great directions about where to park and confirmed we were in a good spot. Wished us happy days at the beach and safe travels. We will definitely stay here if we come back to the area in the future and recommend it to anyone coming to this location!!!
I did not get to meet the host but talked to her by phone. She was most welcoming and explained where she would like me to park as she had other RVs coming in that night (3 of us by morning). I had a fabulous beer-battered flounder dinner! Very convenient location. Thanks!
Very nice accommodations, parking lot is large and level. Easy access to Nags Head and Kitty Hawk. Vineyard and brewery close by. BJs Restaurant has very good food. We will be back when the weather is warmer and hopefully less windy. Thanks!
We changed dates and look forward to,returning in a,couple,of,weeks.
Large side parking lot to cafe that's right off the main road. They have a sign in sheet inside the cafe. There was a nice breeze under the pecan tree. It's only about a twenty minute drive to OBX. The cafe served up the best fried flounder dinner I've had so far and the double chocolate raspberry cake was delicious and on sale. Thank You to Wanda and family for a great first time boondocker's welcome experience.
We had a wonderful stay at BJ’s Carolina Cafe! The hosts are great people. So friendly. They have a large lot that can accommodate big rigs even with a tow. Easy in, easy out. Had a great meal at the restaurant. I would highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.
Very nice hosts and we had a lovely meal at the cafe. Very conveniently located would definitely visit again.
Especially enjoyed the crab & cheese omelet. Hosts were warm and friendly.
Enjoyed our stay at BJ's. Plenty of space so we could unhook and hook our car up easily. Very level. The breeze was wonderful and the cafe right there was a bonus.
The burgers were delicious as were the chocolate lava cake & peanut butter cheesecake!! Great flat location to park. We didn't get to meet W but had a great, friendly chat with BJ & we look forward to another visit! Thanks again!
The perfect location just outside the Outer Banks. Nice level parking area. Good green places for walking your pets. The best part is the home cooking BBQ. Some of the best I've had and I've had a lot. Oster super-friendly exercising the best and Hospitality sharing what they have. You can't go wrong stopping here.
If you have heard of southern hospitality but wondered what it was all about, stop by and visit this lovely couple. Our parking area was level, firm and clean. We were greeted warmly by W. even though we arrived 4 hours late due to a blow out and bad traffic. We thouroughly enjoyed their Carolina style barbeque and even got to sample some fresh figs. I would compare the barbeque we had to the best in downtown Kansas City but at a reasonable price. We also loved the easy access to the beach without the touristy feel. Many thanks to this fine couple for making our experience a joyful pleasant one.
Me and my boyfriend stayed the night last night and were having breakfast at the restaurant this morning. What a cute restaurant and the friendliest staff. They have beer on tap and a great menu. Not far from the beach and a wonderful experience.
We had a great stay at BJ's Carolina Cafe. In addition to a fine place to stay, we received a great meal in the restaurant. There was plenty of flat space to park our two camper vans. Wanda, our host was very friendly and welcoming. We look forward to visiting here again!
We enjoyed being able to stay here before reaching our final destination. Easy access and even had a Saturday night movie viewing in the parking lot. Thank you and hope to stop by again in the future.
Enjoyed our stay with these friendly hosts. Ate at the restaurant and the food was great. Could not have asked for a nicer stay.
We had two great sleeps. Wanda was very welcoming. Our second night we walked just down the road to the winery and that was fun:)
The stay was great! We left a little early (got behind on travel timeline) but our hostess was SO hospitable. Lot was level, clean and easy access. The cafe was perfect and I must say quite popular for a Sunday PM crowd!! Her staff Elias friendly and helpful too.
All in all I’d give her a 10/10!!!
Although we didn't meet our host the area was great. Close to the wright memorial and Roanoke island and the rest of the outer banks
We're sorry they were closed. The menu looked great. Next time through
we will pick a day they are open.
The parking lot is huge and easy to turn around in. The location is convenient. The beaches are about 10 minute drive away and Kitty Hawk museum is about 20 minute drive.
You can get propane at Metro Rental about a block from the Kitty Hawk Wright brothers museum.
The family ate at Wanda’s restaurant and the food was really good, the staff was all awesome and friendly. I loved the lemon meringue pie :)
Nice big flat gravel parking area. A bit noisy near the road but it quietens down during the evening and it didn’t bother us at all. Restaurant food was great and the staff were excellent.
The host was away so we’ll meet her next time around.
Owner was such a pleasure to meet. Very welcoming and accommodating. She gave us great info on the area and has pride in her amazing community. As a bonus, the grilled wings inside the family restaurant are to die for! Nice flat gravel lot with easy asses for our 40 ft motorhome and tow behind. Great location to everything! Would recommend.
As others have mentioned it’s a level lot off a fairly busy road that quiets down at night. Had a great meal at Bj’s for dinner. Definitely consider if you need a stop in the OBX region.
Stayed 2 days and Wanda really enjoyed the hospitality. As far as location they had a big gravel level lot. Easy to manuver 5th wheel to park and entry/exit. Good food too! Had Breakfast!! Western omelett and french toast. Very reasonably priced. Thanks much
We really appreciated Wanda's hospitality and allowing us to stay at BJs. While we never had a chance to meet our host as she is very busy with catering right now, she was quick to reply and let us know details. The spot was in a gravel lot and a great spot to stay convenient to the Outer Banks! Thank you!!
Thank you for your hospitality even if we have finally decided to do more mileage instead of staying one night at your location.
We have greatly appreciated your fast reply.

We were thrilled to be able to visit the Outer Banks - and this location was only about a half hour to visit the Wright Brothers Monument/Park and then we drove an hour and a half more down to Hatteras to see the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum. Close to tons of tourist-y stuff!
We stayed 2 nights and ate a dinner and breakfast at BJ's Carolina Cafe - both meals were great!
The parking lot was large - easy to pull in and park.
Thanks so much!!
Very convenient place to stay right off the highway. Very friendly host.
Thank you, Wanda, for providing a safe shelter for me and Stormy, my [email protected] 400, for two nights....literally in a storm! Your dinner and breakfast were delicious. I hope to meet you on future trips!
Thank you so much Wanda1 for having us.
Wanda1 was warm and generous in every communication. The spot was perfect for our stop in the Outer Banks.
Wanda greeted us warmly in the Cafe and we parked overnight in the adjacent car park. The site is easily accessed, flat and directly adjacent the main road .
Thanks Wanda.- good luck for the future.

Such an easy in and out, plenty of room. Close to everything on the Outer Banks. Did not get to meet Wanda on Sunday but had a delicious breakfast. Her emplyees are amazing especially T, who gave us a great tip on where to buy local seafood. My sister and her husband also stayed there and we left happy and full😊Thanks so much for the hospitality.
Thankyou so very much. You have a great spot here that allowed us to explore the beautiful outer banks. You made us feel very welcome. Sorry we didn't get to sign the guest book.
Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet you, but thank you for letting us stay the night. It set us up just right for our onward journey around your beautiful country.
Nice welcome from Wanda's staff at BJ's Carolina café.
Quiet place, easy parking.
Our host was warm and welcoming. We loved the location — perfect for exploring the outer banks then returning to enjoy supper at her restaurant with all of the locals. Thank you! We’re grateful for your hospitality and generosity.
The restaurant was closed when we arrived but our host and hostess met us when we arrived. Very kind and welcoming. Had a line of thunderstorms come through but was parked in their spacious lot facing west into the wind and all was fine (we also were positioned to use their house & trees next to the parking lot as a windbreak to the south). Really enjoyed chatting with hosts when we arrived; rest of time we had to work and they let us get on with what we had to do, though we did see them after the storm making sure guests were ok.
Re traffic - for us this was a welcoming place and we didn’t care about cars going by. Road has traffic noise but did not bother us at all; was like a background noise, no honking horns or trains or other sounds that we do find annoying, just cars going by and sound blends into a quiet white noise. Hope we can come back some time when restaurant is open - and hosts are nice people we would be glad to see again.
What an awesome host. Nice flat spot to stay with a great place to eat. It was a bit noisy being right off a main road but we still slept well. Once again our host was fantastic. We will stop by again someday. The wings were some of the best I have ever had. If you do t stay at least stop and eat.
We spent a wonderful weekend here. The [parking lot is large and open, lots of space to walk the dog away from people and a nice sunset view. We managed to arrive and get settled in time to visit the café for a great seafood and prime rib dinner. The restaurant was quite busy, but Wanda made time to come say Hi and chat for a few minutes.
Weather was perfect, sunny and good temps; we spent a day wandering down to Hatteras lighthouse and back up checking out the beaches on the way. What a beautiful part of the world you live in! Thank you for sharing this with us!
This was a perfect place to stay while enjoying the Outer Banks. The area was quiet and scenic yet close to major attractions. Very convenient! We also enjoyed the food :).
It was a very easy in and out and setup. We arrived on Wing night with live music. Would stay again.
Great stopping spot for us. Flat gravel lot with a good eatery next door.
Nice level parking. Very friendly staff and the restaurant. Made sure we were taken care of during our stay. Bonus: food was great.
We had a really great time at BJ's. Very easy to get to, large parking area that we had all to ourselves. Our Hosts were very welcoming. One of our Hosts greeted us upon our arrival. Both Hosts are extremely busy with their business, but they still made time to return a phone call and to check in if we needed anything. We would certainly return to this Boondocker location!
Nice place, enough space for several RV’s. Sadly enough the restaurant was closed so we still had to prepare our own supper
Was easy to find off of 4 lane road. Had dinner at the nice quaint restaurant. Very friendly staff. Didn't get to meet host but met her husband and we chatted a bit. Very nice gentleman. The spot was large with plenty of room to maneuver. Was in the open so was able to set up satellite. Another rig had pulled into the area and spent a couple of nights too. We ended up extending our stay to 3 nights. If you want to see the outer banks this is the spot.
We didn’t manage to meet Wanda but all communication was very easy. The location was great for our planned trip to the Outer Banks. Dinner was excellent and when we couldn’t‘t find another location Wanda allowed us to stay another night. Recommended
