We are an easy going couple from Michigan. In 2012 Bob retired from his job as an electrician with General Motors and Elaine retired from the Lansing Association of REALTORS. Several years ago we moved to our "cottage" where we enjoy boating, kayaking, biking and hosting friends and relatives. Bob is also passionate about table tennis and looks for opportunities to play where ever we go. Over the years we have vacationed in the United States, Nova Scotia, and Europe. In past winters we have had positive experiences booking stays in Florida and especially have fond memories of the week spent on a 40’ sailboat in Punta Gorda! Now we find ourselves embarking on new adventures in the small motorhome that we recently purchased.
Bob is a licensed electrician and quite the handyman. Elaine enjoys people and being a guide at the Botanical Garden in Traverse City. We both look for opportunities to experience travel in a more up close and personal way. Before adopting our dog, Roxie, we were even members of “Trusted Housesitters”, a website that brings together pet/home owners and folks like us who are willing to pet sit in exchange for lodging.
Over the years while working and raising our son and daughter, our family always included dogs and cats. Eventhough we wanted to be pet free after retirement so we could travel, we fell in love with and rescued a little 12 lb. wirehaired dachshund in 2017. Now we are looking forward to many adventures while traveling with “Roxie” in our RV.
We hope to find many favorite boondocking locations to share.
We feel very blessed to be able to live near Traverse City surrounded by cherry orchards and just up the hill from Elk Lake. The quaint harbor town of Elk Rapids and ramps for easy access to Elk Lake and Grand Traverse Bay are only a few miles away.

Elaine and Bob arrived a little late due to bike rack problems, but they stayed an extra day so we had time to socialize with them on our dock and patio. We very much enjoyed getting to know them and hope to visit Michigan and stay at their place some day. They were great guests and are welcome back any time.
Lovely people, Bob even repaired a light switch that was malfunctioning on us. What a lifesaver that was on a weekend. We had a great time.
It's a shame we didn't have an opportunity to spend more time with them. However, we squeezed them in for a night while we are trying to sell our house. They're wonderful folks who we'd love to host again (if our house doesn't sell!).
