We are a retired couple who love travel and adventure. We have been married 30+ years and have spent that time seeing as much of the world as we can. As former BDW hosts, we appreciate how and WHY to be a good guest.
Sue was a writer and an amateur graphic designer. Before he hung up his scrubs, David was a registered nurse and a talented problem-solver.
Now that we're retirees, we're living life to its fullest adventure.
After a long history of pet ownership, we've decided to hold off getting another cat or dog until after we figure out this whole "Full Time RVing" lifestyle. We miss the 7 cats and 1 dog we've had over the years, and we can't wait until we've settled enough to have a pet again.
We've only been RVing for a half-dozen years, but we have extensive tent-camping experience and also back-country 4X4-camped in quite a few places in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. We especially like western Colorado and central Wyoming, but the world is a wonderful place that we love exploring.
Our current mailing address is Benson, Arizona, but our home town is wherever the Lost Leopard or Tok Leopard (our truck camper named after the town in Alaska) is parked for the night. ☺ Right now we're spending a lot of time in southern Arizona.
Three vehicles in our "fleet": 39' 2015 GD Solitude 369RL fifth wheel doesn't really travel much. We have it parked in an Escapee SKP park in southern Arizona. It has 3 slides and the layout is such that we can use it without opening the slides. It's in very good shape, just a bit heavier than we like to travel with. 26' 2020 Alp Adventurer 89RB truck camper is our travel go-to. We bought it in preparation to travel to Alaska, probably summer 2022 but so far we've taken it to California, Oregon, Nevada, Yellowstone and many parts of Wyoming, Arizona, Utah, Kansas, and even Arkansas. It has no slides, but since we're just two mild-manner seniors, it's plenty of space for us. There is a generator on-board, but we don't need to use it except in extreme heat. Both of the above vehicles are transported by means of our 2018 GMC Denali 3500 SRW long bed pickup truck.
Nice folks, they communicated well. We’re easy-going. Had a small rig. And were polite.
The Lost Leopards were very quiet & accommodating folks. Enjoyed having them here for 2 nights.
We had a super stay here! LostLeopards were super timely in their communication leading up to the stay and were able to accommodate a slight delay we had due to mechanical issues with our rig. They respected our privacy but were also very friendly and gracious.
The site was so easy to get in and out of and the location was very close to a wonderful state park and an amazing wild animal sanctuary. It's about 90 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park and the Stanley Hotel and less than 45 minutes into Denver.
We'd definitely stay here again. Thanks so much for a great stay!
The day we arrived my wife had a migraine, but the host was so nice it brightened our day. Had a great second day exploring Wings Over The Rockies. The kids loved the Wright Brothers flight simulator, the Star Wars X wing and the tiny plane called The Little Angel. It took us about 45 minutes to visit Boulder, which had several free factory tours. All of us loved touring Celestial Tea.
Stopping at Lost Leopards Ranch worked well for us and we are thankful for the spot. We would definitely stay here again and are super happy with our Boondockers Welcome experience.
Our host we very nice and helpful with us setting up our site. She even brought us some water and Gatorade seeing how thirsty we were. They respected our need to get some sleep from our long day of driving.
Easy site to back in and pull out in the morning. We pulled out early to get on the road, so we didn't get a chance to to say bye. Would recommend these folks and would stay if in the area again.
Great little spot with a beautiful view. The hosts were so friendly and gave us some RV information we did not know. Thanks for the Great stay.
Sue saw us coming and walked out to the street to meet us before we had even reached the house. The 15 amp hookup was just perfect enough to keep our rig cool and comfy. We both slept like logs at night. Sue was on top of everything we needed to know and Mike was delightful. We shared a delicious pizza dinner. Exploding friendship runs in that family. We hope to see them again when they get on the road next year. Another outstanding BW experience.
Sue and Dave were so hospitable. They greeted us warmly and helped us get set up in our spot and hooked into the electricity. It was nice chatting and getting to know them. They made us feel at home. They even provided maps and information of fun activities to do in the area.
As far as electronic communication, Sue was responsive, fast, friendly, and helpful in providing driving directions and parking instructions.
We are grateful to God for our kind and welcoming hosts!
S and D are wonderful hosts, so kind and very generous. When I requested to extend my stay, without hesitation S told me it was no problem at all. They have a fenced in area so my dog could run free, an offer to use their back patio and grill, quiet neighborhood, and over all a very comfortable and relaxing few days.
I highly recommend Lost Leopards and wish S & D all the happiness in their future!
This was a wonderful Boondocker’s experience. The host provided 20 amp electric and let us fill our water tank. They provided information re: area attractions and dump station as well as directions for our next destination. We truly appreciated their hospitality!
After a breakdown we had no where to go and the 4th of July was fast approaching. Dave and Sue accepted our request and we had a wonderful 3 days to regroup. We were given lots of good information about Colorado campgrounds and Barr Lake in particular. We all got together for dinner one night and talked about our live on the road and their plans to be on the road soon. All in all it was a very easy and enjoyable place to be. Thank you.
From the moment we drove up we felt welcomed. The site is level and convenient to water and power if you need it. The fenced yard is beautiful and was perfect for our dog to run out some of her energy. This rural area of Denver provides lots of beautiful sunsets and quiet nights. They had lots of great recommendations for the area, including Ben's Brick Oven Pizza in nearby Hudson, which we would also recommend! LostLeopards are great hosts and we hope to return someday!
The Lost Leopard’s were very hospitable. They have a nice property in a quiet neighborhood just outside of Brighton. It was not far off the 76 and a perfect stop on our cross country trip. Thank you.
Such amazing people!! We unfortunately didn’t get to meet Mr Dave but Mrs Sue was so friendly and hospitable. She greeted us with coffee/tea, a map of the area, and electric and water hookups!! We sincerely appreciate their generosity. Their spot is amazing - my dog LOVED sniffing around in their fenced in backyard and their neighborhood is great for long walks! Very convenient to Denver and Boulder as well!! THANK YOU Mrs. Sue and Mr. Dave!!!
We had the best time at Lost Leopards Ranch. Their property very nice with a fenced in area for dogs. We were also offered electric and water hook up. On our last morning we shared breakfast together with amazing bacon from a local butcher. We would definitely recommend this space to anyone looking to explore North East of Denver.
Sue was super friendly and welcoming! The location was quiet and perfect for picking up our visitor from the airport. Sue went above and beyond when we needed some extra help when our plans for the weekend changed. We really appreciated her generosity!
The Lost Leopards are the sweetest people! They were fantastic hosts and we had an easy, delightful stay with them. They went above and beyond by offering us 20 amp, water, and a fenced in dog yard! We would stay with them again in a second! :)
I had a very positive stay with LostLeopards for 3 nights NE of Denver. The forecast leading up to my stay changed drastically and they went above and beyond to keep me updated on conditions in the area and at their property. Very thoughtful and welcoming! Thank you. :-)
We are so grateful that they could accommodate us for the second time in such a short period. Our dogs absolutely love running around their yard. This was my far the nicest people we stayed with !!!
This was by far the best boondocks we stayed at !! We have two dogs and they were so friendly about using their yard. They even offered to let us use their grill!! Friendliest people I have met !! I would 100% recommend them !! They hooked us up with electric and water and we stayed 3 days! Very quite community so not much noise at night. We hope to stay with them again before they are full timers.
We really enjoyed our stay at lost leopards. She greeted us when we arrived to show us where to park. They let our dogs play in their fenced back yard, which was awesome. We had dinner together 1 night, great conversation and food. She gave us a lot of ideas for places to explore with our Jeep. Maps, brochures and good directions. It was a great place to stay, we will go back if we are in the area again.
We enjoyed our stay with this great couple, they are easy going and friendly.
We shared talkes and dinner on thier porch.
Hope our paths will cross again.
Dave and Sue were so kind and welcoming towards us!! We even had dinner together a few times. They are so wonderful, and their home is a great place to stay in the Denver metro area.
Sue and Dave could not have been more welcoming and kind! Their place is about 25 minutes from downtown Denver and just a few minutes from the nearby state park. They even ran us electric to run our air conditioners on a hot summer day. Thanks so much guys!
We had a wonderful stay with Sue and David. The site was easy in/easy out, their place is in a convenient location to Denver Airport and downtown, and above all Sue and David were some of the friendliest people we've met in the BW system! Thank you so much for having us and we are glad to have met you :)
This is our second time staying here and it was lovely just like last time. Sue and David are great hosts and have been a huge help in our travels. Their property is away from the city but close to the airport which is a huge plus for us.
Their property is a perfect proximity away from everything but close enough to Denver for anything! They were sweet, very accommodating, and helpful. We would love to come back and stay the next time we are in the area!
Our hosts couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. The parking spot on the side of the house was fine and entrance was easy. We even got to see little foxes running around in the area behind the house. Hope we are able to stop by again.
Great couple who were super easy and fun to talk to. We arrived in the late afternoon and introduced ourselves.
We let our pup play a bit and we chatted and looked for the fox kits.
The next morning we worked and watched the wildlife play all around us. The stay was perfectly relaxing!
Sue and Dave have been great hosts. The interaction was easy and conversations were fun. The visit of their RV was impressive. The location is great, easy to find, easy to park and in a secure neighbourhood. Felt like home. Will certainly go back.
