I, along with my husband, David, dog, Gus, and horses Flyer and Kit, enjoy traveling in our motor home throughout the cold months, staying where the weather is warm and the outdoor life is good. We have a base in Ohio moochdocking at elderly parents home and trail riding. We enjoy all things cowboy and being horseback. . I like to hike and kayak.
We travel with our horse so we know about camping with a horse.
We like to find free or inexpensive places to camp, stall the horse and trail ride.
I am interested in gardening, composting, eating healthy, yoga and all things spiritual.
We have one friendly border collie and two horses.
We travel with both.

We really enjoyed our 5-day stay out in the boondocks, out on the hill beside the blue barn. We shared a few moments with DavidPeggy's son, and took in the view from all directions. They are so thoughtful and accommodating, but give plenty of space. Nothing says "make yourself at home" like leaving a lighter and little bundle of kindling next to a covered pile of firewood, out in the middle of rolling green hills beside an iron stove. This was a major turning point in our journey West, and the longer than usual stay did us a lot of good to rest and reflect in the quiet beauty. Thank you very much for having us!
Many thanks to our hosts. We were here last year in torrential rain and pretty much stayed inside. Still enjoyed it and felt safe so we decided to come back!
This time beautiful weather and we took advantage of the hookups. Our host went out of her way to come down to the Blue Barn and help get our electric up and running.
I’m sure we will be back again this way but also hope to run into you at other BW sites!
Thank you again!

We never met the owners, but they were easy to get a hold of, via Boondockers and responded quickly. Their son lives nearby and was helpful with any questions you might have. He's seemed shy but polite. :) It was a peaceful spot and the view was beautiful. They even let us drop our grey tank, which is very nice. There's no internet there but were able to get local tv channels with our antenna. Nice place to stop and rest, before heading back onto the road.
Excellent place to stay, literally in the middle of nowhere. Actually not too far off I70 and great hill country. Thanks for the stay!
We are at Boondockers Welcome Blue Barn in the Boondocks. What a lovely place! Rolling hills farmland. The parking pad is absolutely level. This site has water and electric too. Lovely. So quiet and calm. Just what we needed.
Lovely countryside spot. Easy hookups and level ground. Great directions and easy to find. Would definitely stay again!
Our first Boondocking experience with some of the nicest people we’ve ever met. They are so patient with our children and so very helpful with some issues we and our friend had with the rig, making calls for us bringing friends by to help and introducing us to some of the nicest Amish families in the area. We are so grateful to them, and loved every moment!
Thanks for the hospitality! We stated here for one night on our way to Indiana for some MH maintenance. About 10 miles off of interstate 70. Through a small town (Barnesville) and down a few country roads. No sharp turns or low hanging branches. Just take your time. Barnesville is small, but it had a grocery store enabling us to restock.
We were traveling in a 45’ Class A and I didn’t feel that there was enough room to turn the coach around in The half circle driveway / parking area in order to go back the way we came. So when departing we continued out the other end of the half circle driveway, took a right (left turn to go back was too sharp) and then circled around back to the main road. It was a few extra miles down some country roads, but again, they were no issues.
We did not meet our host, but did meet their son who lives in the log cabin which is co-located with the blue barn. Again - thank you.
What a great place to stay for peace and quiet! Peggy was wonderful. She had other guests still there that had to change their plans due to no fault of their own. Our host welcomed us anyway and accommodated us with no hesitation. She even kept an eye out for us so she could escort us into where we needed to be. It is somewhat small and curvy roads getting in and out, but nothing that is not doable. It was great having the unexpected “neighbors”! We will definitely look forward to another stay!
Great directions on their page. They wouldn’t accept a love gift because they are so kind.
Excellent communication. Beautiful views!
Would love to stop again.
What a great host. I recommend coming in during the day. DavePeg has perfect direction listed, make sure that you follow them.
We missed a turn in the dark and we were met by a local that drove us up the back way.
What kind people live in this area.
This is a beautiful spot with the luxury of water and electric.
We appreciate you hosting us so much.
Thank you again!
Very friendly hosts. Level spot, good hook ups. Interesting area to drive around in and town has great old houses.
Would highly recommend!!
Although we did not meet our hosts, our communication with Peggy was pleasant enough. Their place, situated among hills and pastures, and surrounded by serene views of the countryside, was a great respite from our road travels. We stayed one night in the parking area in front of the barn with plenty of space.
Thanks for the opportunity to share your beautiful home with us. The view is awesome and would love to visit again in future. The directions were perfect, thanks for the 50amp plug in and the easy access level parking spot. Hope to meet up again.
Host provided great directions to avoid GPS bad ones! In spite of a crazy rainstorm as we got close we were able to back in and be level.
50 amp and water were available but we opted for dry camping which worked out fine.
Very quiet through the night! Slept great and woke up to a dry morning surrounded by beautiful hillsides.
Thank you again!
The location is remote but easy to get to especially using the directions provided.
We didnt actually get to meet our host but they were very friendly during our communications and accommodated a last minute request.
The location itself is great. Lots of space. Easy to pull in and out. And theres 50 amp hookup and water available.
We had an amazing view of the sky when we arrived . I couldnt believe how many stars there were.
Stayed for a quick overnight on a Holiday weekend. Nice drive from I70 with some curvy roads but nothing extreme. Follow the provided directions, not Google or other mapping programs. Uncoupled about 3 miles from farm, but it probably was not necessary for our 37' and tow(if you do decide to uncouple, it is probably best in Barnesville as the roads leading to the farm don't present many areas to pull to the side of the road). Was able to level with no problems. Clear sky for satellite and ATT excellent for internet. If in the area in the future would stay again in this beautiful section of Ohio.
Our host was away for the weekend, but allowed us to stay anyway. Directions were perfect and that blue barn was easy to identify.
By the time we got there it was dark, but when morning came, what a view of the hills and valleys.
Good level gravel spot and was very quiet all night. Freshest air I have experienced in awhile. We loved it there.
Quiet, nice place for a layover... Beautiful views and nice people... Would def recommend. Thank you!!
Due to a truck breakdown, we were desperate to find a same-day overnight. David and Peggy were so accommodating to accept our request. We arrived extremely late, had a great night's sleep in perfect quiet, and were thrilled to get to meet Peggy and thank her before we went on our way early the next morning.
Wonderfully nice & kind couple. Large quiet & level parking with water & electric!! Beautiful area to stop if your headed through!! Thanks again!!
Beautiful setting. Nice & quiet.
Great hosts at Blue Barn in the Boondocks - Thank you!
Peggy was such a sweet host, she came by us even if it was rainy outside. We had a wonderful and peaceful night.
We would stay here again.
Great stay. David and Peggy were packing to leave for Arizona when we arrived, but took time to welcome us and help us get settled in.
This site is surrounded by beautiful country side and has 50 amp electric.
We would definitely stay again if we get back to the area.
Thanks David and Peggy and safe travels.
Passing through on our way to Kansas. The hosts are super friendly and welcoming. They were kind enough to let us use the 50 amp electric and water!! My dogs ran around without a problem. Would definitely recommend!
Unfortunately, my wife’s grandmother passed away just before we arrived so we needed to drive through the night and couldn’t visit in the end.
A pretty picturesque rural property. Level site easy hookup and fantastic hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We were fortunate to stay one nite with Blue @ the Big Blue Barn in Ohio. 50 amp with water provided, gravel drive, and pretty level. No complaints, extremely warm and kind people. They were getting ready to hit the road the next morning so not really able to visit all that much. We were in later and they were off early... Interesting though that 30 yrs. ago I had been friends with a friend of their's!! Great time no complaints, but with our dually crew cab & 36' toyhauler, their road is a bit narley. If you can handle some narrower road tight turns with hills you probably can't find a nicer spot or couple!! Thanks so much!!
