We've just purchased a class B van in our retirement and we're looking for great adventures. We love boating in our Porta Bote...hoping to catch the big fish and looking for loons.
Fluent in American Sign Language.

Clay, NY
Self contained 20’ Coachman Camper Van.
We enjoyed meeting them but we were especially busy at the time. Hopefully they will come again.
We hardly knew they were here.
I had a delightful visit with Denise and Larry. It was really nice to get to know them a little. Larry was very knowledgeable about Dodge vans (having had 13 of them !) and gave me some great mechanical info. If I'm ever in their part of New York, would definitely try to get together with them again!
Came in about midday and met the Loon-a-tics. Mr Loon-a-tics showed me how to get in and offered up some hospitality :) As I was out exploring the great syracuse area most of the day I had no complaints and enjoyed the quiet of their property. Thank you again and again.
The Loon-A-Tics were very welcoming. We parked in their backyard which is very large and private. We had an easy time finding a level spot for our rig. We are new RV'rs and our host saved the day as we almost drove off with our awning still partially deployed and he came running out and stopped us. He also escorted us to the highway as the nearby entrance was closed due to construction. Great folks and we would stay here again.
We had a great stay with this lovely couple in their spacious back yard. Easy in and easy out for our small travel trailer with free 15 amp electricity and water. A quiet night after the gun range shut down in the evening, but even that was not objectionable to us. Our dog loved chasing her ball in the huge back yard and watching the squirrels.
We really enjoyed meeting our gracious and friendly hosts, they exuded kindness from the moment they waved us in to their driveway. Although we stayed in front of the house, their backyard property was enormous and they so kindly welcomed us to use it. We hope to see them again!
We are so thankful that the Loon-A-Tics accepted our request for an overnight stop during the coronavirus pandemic. They were outside when we arrived to guide us to a suitable parking spot since the yard was wet from rains. We had a nice visit (6 ft apart with masks) and would have loved to visit longer but our drive was long and we were tired. We would definitely stay again.
Received a warm welcome. The hosts helped me get to a repair shop nearby for some repairs. I really appreciated their help.
I'm very happy to have a spot to park for the night and the hosts were super nice in getting me settled, offering a plug in if needed. Due to wet weather making yard soft, the parking site was close to a VERY busy road. If I could have kept windows shut it wouldn't be too bad, but a hot night required open windows and not a lot of sleep. Pistol club across the street unnerved the dogs a bit too until about 7:15 the evening we arrived. Nice dog park only 10 min drive away so we pulled up early and went there in the morning for a more quiet potty spot.
Thank you for allowing us to stay on your property. It was very nice meeting you.
NICE people, thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them. They hosted us even though leaving the next day for an extended trip. Parked in front of their home near the highway because the backyard access was wet. Maybe a little noisey for light sleepers.
This was a great stop over on our trip west along the New York Thruway I 90 very close and convenient to the interstate.
We also liked that it was close and convenient to the YMCA.
And there was really cheap gas at this interchange.
Lovely folks we would stay again
After a day on the golf course, storm coming in and Loon-a-tics hosted us on short notice. Gave us info on local amenities. Would definitely stay again. Close to YMCA and grocery stores. Happy trails and sails!
Hosts of Clay Haven are definitely not "Loon-A-Tics" au contraire!!! They are a wonderful couple who are very warm and welcoming and Clay Haven is a magnificent spot to boondock! It's a tranquil spot in their backyard that offers privacy at the end of a long day of travels. We were offered more than we needed but it was certainly appreciated! I would definitely go back there and hope that our paths cross again as they were a joy to talk to!!
Nice very large wide and deep close cut coolgrass yard lined with large trees
We enjoyed our stay here. We were looking for just a quiet place to lay low and do some work, this fit us perfectly. Our hosts were very accommodating and welcoming. The back yard was tree lined and peaceful. Our pup loved the space to run!
It was a pleasure meeting Denise and Larry. They have a very nice home with plenty of room out back. They were very welcoming, even inviting us in for coffee. Anytime we're driving through northern NY we will see if they are around.
