Gracious hosts with an easy in/easy out of their property. Our request to stay two nights was not an issue for which we were grateful.
We spent time with our hosts talking about a variety of things including things to see and do in their area.
We’ll probably stop again on our return east in Spring to do the suggested activities.
Perfect almost halfway stop for us and look forward to visiting again.
We had a great experience at the Milligan’s! We weren’t there long but it was easy to find and everything was exactly as said.
Very easy to find and easy access to Springfield, MO. Although J and P were not home they accepted our request, and even provided power. We will stop by again when our travels bring us this way again. Hopefully we will get to meet J and P next time.
thanks to the host for helping us with a quick overnight. was feeling under the weather (aka sick) but they helped with letting us hook up and relax.
the Best things in Life are the People (and Pets) we Love, the places we've been and the MEMORIES we've made along the way .........
We spent 3 nights in Springfield, MO area with amazing hosts and their dog.
J and P greeted us when we arrived and gave us recommendations for food and places to visit during our stay.
We took the advice to eat at Lambert's on our first night and we are so glad we did not miss that experience.
On day two, we did 2 excursions - Fantastic Caverns and the Dickerson Zoo and both were enjoyable.
On our last day we did not want to miss the chance to see the Grandaddy of outdoor stores -> Bass Pro's mothership Store ...omg ... amazing and you could actually spend an entire day there. We planned a visit in the afternoon with J and P which turned into about 8 hours and ended up including meeting one of their daughters and her husband and having dinner with them. They invited us to attend church with them the next day but we had to be on our way to the next stop.
A very special couple that we would love to spend time with again and would even be willing to join the circus with them 🤡.
Thank you for your amazing hospitality.

We loved our time spent with our hosts. Special people who greeted us when we arrived, told us local points of interest and even invited us into their home when our youngest daughter got frightened during a major storm and tornado warning. We enjoyed our visit hearing their stories of the circus and learning some fun math games.
Nice level spot to park in their gravel driveway along a quiet country road yet easily accessible from the highway. Room for our dogs to roam and quaint view of the countryside and a small herd of goats next door.
We were so glad to have stayed here and hope to see them again.
Greats Hosts, Easy access from freeway. Loved the location with the nearby goats and cows. Super quiet, peaceful and enjoyed sitting outside watching the sunset. Would highly recommend!
Thanks for letting us stay at your place!
We had a great time staying the night.
Jag loved the fact he could roam around leash free and we may have lost a ball due to him having so much fun. They are respectful, wise, and great story tellers
We are glad we had a chance to meet them and also tour the first Bass Pro shop area and see the worlds largest fork. Hopefully when we head back west we can meet up with them again!
What a treat it was to spend time with my hosts and their family! We had dinner together and I really felt like I was part of the family. Then we spent the evening exploring my different music instruments and had a great time all together. Thanks again for being so welcoming!
This is an exellent stay at Milligan's Reatreat. Our host was very welcoming and provided great details regarding parking, water and shore power. We wish we could have visited more our hosts! Highly recommend!!
We can not find the right words to write down how lovely the Milligan's are, but we can guarantee that they are wonderful hosts. We were lucky / honored to spend some time with them and they gave us the ultimate American experience that we will never forget. Thank you Milligan's, for this memorial overnight stay!
JMilligan44 was a perfect stop for us as we passed through. Nice large driveway to park our large rig. JMilligan was very friendly and accomodating . Thanks for the stay.
Jerry called us to give us dirmorniections for electric as was not home when we were to arrive. Called later t be sure we were ok. Met with us in the morning for a short visit before we left. Hope to visit again next year. Thanks, Lois, Paul and Lille
Though their regular electric hookup is 50 amp, they switched it over to 30 amp for me before I arrived. They waited for me to get there before attending a family event, and even invited me along! How nice was that? I couldn’t go, but it was really sweet. We got to talk a little in the morning before I had to get back on the road, and they invited me back. Such sweet people!
This is just the place we needed! A nice quiet place for a good night's sleep. The hosts were welcoming and we enjoyed our short visit with them. We will definitely stop by again when we're in the area.
Wow, what a great experience. We really did feel like we were just stopping by to see friends. That's how quickly we were made to feel at home. Great spot to pull in for the night and ended up being invited to stay an extra night. Our hosts have great information about what to see in the area. Just downright good people!
We were very happy to spend the night at your home. it is a very nice and quiet area. We would liked to meet you too. Thank you very much for allowing us to stay in your absence, and offered us water and electricity, very appreciated! We met Basile, the friendly neighbor, who gave us some tasty apples, and also the neighbor's dog, just adorable! If we come back one day, be sure that we will come to meet you!
Jerry and Pat were very welcoming and we had a nice (although brief( visit when we arrived. They're only minutes from the Bass Pro Shop Museum in Springfield so we spent the afternoon and early evening there. Their retreat in the country was super quiet and we appreciated that after spending the previous night at Cracker Barrel by the freeway. They welcomed us to stop again and we will do that next time we find ourselves in the Springfield area
Two brilliant, beautiful souls sharing their own little piece of paradise. Kinder people you will not ever meet. If they had a circus we would run away and join it! =)
J and P greeted us when we arrived and even though they had a big family event going on they took time to make sure we were settled and gave excellent advice on what to do in the area.
The site is surrounded by pastoral views and quiet country. Within 15 minutes you can go to the "beach", view a zoo, make memories in a brewery, be assaulted by rolls (we missed that one), and visit the most amazing, Disneyesque, Bass Pro Shops on the planet. Point is it's peaceful where you park but you are in the middle of it all.
Charming, entertaining, and delightful people. We miss them already. If you are within a 3 day drive of Springfield, you might strongly consider requesting a stay with J and P.
Had a great night at the Milligans’. Very personable , lovely couple, so helpful! Even let me ride along to the grocery store. I really appreciated your hospitality and enjoyed meeting you both!
Boy, after a long day of travel, it was fantastic to be able to stay with Jerry at his home-just off the highway, too. He welcomed us when we arrived and offered electricity and water. After a cheerful chat about the RV life we turned in for a grand night of sleep. Thank you so much!!!! Have fun downsizing your RV for an abundance of future adventures!
