We have lived in La Center our entire lives, we own an automotive repair business in Woodland WA and as much as we enjoy our kids we are also super excited at the idea of going camping just us.....and the mutt. We live on 5 acres (the hubby's childhood home) we have plenty of room for RV's and welcome friendly pets. Let's play it by ear by what you are looking for because we are new to this and easy to work with, just l19et us know what you're looking for :)

Skills & Expertise to Share

We own a transmission repair business that also does general repairs. We love the idea of 4 X 4 RV's! We LOVE Chinooks (we own 2) this van originally showed up at our shop shortly after it was purchased by Michael & Jennifer it had the 4WD conversion already done with the stock 30 spline 4.10 Dana 60 rear and a 10 bolt Chevy front end (YIKES).

We fixed a rear wheel bearing problem and they went down the road. Michael & Jennifer needed to get back on the road, but said he would be back for more power, better mileage and a front differential that didn't come in 1/2 tons!

Vanimal had a problematic first run, transmission failure, broken leaf spring, motor problems with the 360, etc, so they dropped it off in November for the re-power. We installed a 2000 P-pump 4BT Cummins with the stock HX30W, Turbo, 1st gen Cummins radiator, intercooler, 47RH overdrive transmission with a couple B&M lock-up controllers for "auto" operation. We wired in a grid heater for cold weather starts, built a custom 3" downpipe into 4" exhaust, added full gauges to the dash, installed an adjustable wastegate controller (set at 27 psi) and put a 4.56 ratio Dana 60/70 combo with a hydro boost, brake booster. Vanimal drives great and has been traveling the US ever since!

MJErickson's Pets

We have a 1 year old mutt named Bailey, she is very friendly and ready to play!

MJErickson's Hometown

Our hometown is La Center Washington, I have always lived here and Mark came here in 5th grade. We love the sense of community and it is one of the things that is keeping me from full time RVing.

Great family & conversation

We were M&J's first boondockers and we loved it. They have a driveway on gravel where we could back in and level perfectly. M&J were great hosts, we talked long about our trip and their trips, commonalities and other fun stuff. Great family and if in the area shoot them a message. If they can, they'll be happy to host you. Thanks again for hosting us. Let's stay in touch.
