Semi-retired, we enjoy travel and visiting new places.
We are a bit quirky and “ out of the box“. We enjoy fishing, hiking, and crafts of all types.
We have three dogs that often keep us company:
Mysti-15 yo toy poodle
Munchkin-8 yo terrier mix
Diesel-4 yo border collie
We live on a 15 acre “hobby ranch“ in Oregon City (Redland)
2016 34’ class A Winnebago “Sightseer” Three slides
The property was very nice. The hosts were very accommodating and polite. The entrance was extremely tight for a 44ft fifth wheel. We had to back out on the highway and get a better bite on the turn. And also on the way up the hill. My truck told me that if I ever try and take it up a 13% grade again that it would kick me to the curb.
Husband and I enjoyed visiting the tripod ranch. The setting was absolutely beautiful and quiet, plenty of space to park a large RV and/or tow vehicle. The owners were kind and friendly. Loved the llamas and the peacocks. The driveway is uphill and narrow but we had no issues in our 38” fifth wheel.
What a fantastic stay at Tripod Ranch. The site was easy to get to ( no problem with the 12 deg hill). It was beautiful, the amenities were over the top. Nice outdoor kitchen, outdoor shower, eating pavilion. The llamas were so darn cute and friendly. RW was very kind and kept it simple. Our 21 ft travel trailer had no issues with area and backing out. Thank you to the Host family for sharing your lovely slice of paradise.
Easy to find, nice level parking spot right. Hosts were very welcoming. Convenient location for visiting Portland without having to stay in the city.
We were here only one night while passing through to our destination. What we came to realize is, this is the destination. It was immediately apparent that RWB is an open hearted soul that loves to share his beautiful property. And beautiful it is. I only wish we had more time to visit.
Diesel is a lovely dog that loves to play catch. The peacocks tiptoed around and on-top of our RV. How fun. Didn't get a chance to get too close to the llamas, but hey, they are cute.
If you are looking for exercise, it's about a quarter mile walk from his home to the property entrance and a good workout due to the elevation change. There is a hot tub and an outdoor shower, fully outdoor, still a little chilly this time of year. So much to see and do and close to town.
Due to the size of our rig we drove the entry beforehand. I have to admit I was a little intimidated by the drive up to the property with our 42' 5th wheel and dually, maybe that's because this is our fist trip out in our new rig. I did it and wear it as badge of honor. I have plenty of experience pulling other rigs. RWB does keep the trees trimmed and what does hang a little low were inconsequential.
Verizion is two bars and solid.
Did I say I wish we had more time to stay and meet the family. It would have been a joy.
Thank you RWB!
We consider ourselves fortunate to have stayed at tripod ranch! It is a lovely and peaceful place and RWB was a gracious host. We came back from a walk to find eggs fromtheir hens on our steps. We had a restful time and were able to visit parts of Portland which were easily accessible from this site.
We certainly enjoyed the peacocks which ate the bugs off our Jeep's windshield, the cool llamas, and especially Munchkin , pup, and Diesel dogs.... Thanks to our hosts for sharing their piece of heaven. We would love to return some day!
Mr. Blount was very pleasant to speak with and mybFiance and I enjoyed the many surprises we now have pictures of interacting with...such great welcoming from both hosts and animals!
Co-vid restrictions didn't suggest much interactive, though we're looking to stay again, soon!
Tripod Ranch is a must if your in the area! Our host was kind and easy going, share farm fresh eggs with us and a sweet sticker upon us leaving that said, "A Llama kissed me" so cute! My favorite part was the open air shower.... so fantastic! Beautiful beautiful place. Highly recommend it.
This is on beautiful spot to stay for a few days. The llamas are cute and the peacocks like to be on top of the RV. It is well worth the drive to see. The town nearby has everything you so you don't have to go into Portland proper.
We stopped here on our way to Multnomah Falls. The property is absolutely gorgeous and we were made to feel very welcome to walk around and enjoy it all. It’s not too far from main roads but it feels like you’re cozy in the country with beautiful farm animals walking about. The amenities are above and beyond and our host greeted us in the rain, helped us get situated and pointed out beautiful features on the property that we could take advantage of. This Boondockers Welcome location is definitely a cut above. Thank you so much Tripod Ranch.
We had an absolute blast at this location! The property is hands down one of the most lovely places we have had the pleasure of staying. Our only regret was the busy work schedule we had during the stay so we weren’t able to hang out on the property as much and get to know the hosts. We can’t wait to come back, and hopefully in a COVID free future, we can return and play some music and hang out with the hosts!!
Bob was a great host, helped us newbies with setting up and gave us some valuable tips we will use in the future. He shared some fresh eggs and allowed us to roam. Thank you Bob and Jan for sharing your lovely property.
We didn't see the big horn sheep this time, but the peafowl (two peacocks, two peahens) were a beautiful and entertaining addition - they follow us around like puppy dogs - RWBlount said they were hoping for handouts (which didn't even occur to us to offer and he definitely didn't want us to give!), we just thought they liked us <3
The day before we left we woke up to a delightful gift of a dozen fresh eggs - DELISH quiche for dinner!
Above and beyond wonderful as always!
This was a beautiful place to stay. Not far from Portland and wineries. Host was accommodating and pleasant to talk to. Would stay here again.
This was a great place to stay with hook ups. The host were very nice and welcoming. We will stay again if in the area .
Very hospitable and welcoming. RWBlount came out and welcomed us in person even though we arrived after dark. He even occupied the children by introducing them to the chickens and sharing eggs with us so we could get set up. Level spot with full hookups. RWBlount opened their lovely property to us. Our children loved the chickens and llamas as well as the open field and play structure.
The driveway up to the lodge is a bit steep with a couple tight turns. We are about 52 feet with a Silverado 3500 and 35 travel trailer.
Very gracious and welcoming owner and crew. Beautiful and peaceful location. The entry is steep and very tight for a long wheelbase 45' coach with a tag axle even though I am a RV instructor. As others have stated, very tight turn at the entry. Obviously, disconnect your toad before you ever get to Redland road.
Our days were busy in Portland with our family. Returning at the end of the day to such a beautiful and peaceful property was so refreshing . Llamas, chickens and bunnies!! Thank you for the lovely stay!
Entrance is a little tight due to all the beautiful and you do have to go up a step hill. I have a 40 foot fifth and made it no problem but did put it in low gear.
The host is a super guy!
We had so much fun in this beautiful spot. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful and the playground, animals, and outdoor areas were so fun! This place goes above and beyond for a boondocking spot. Hope to visit again.
Such a blessing to have a place to stay when visiting loved ones in the area. Truly lovely accommodations, lovely environment, lovely llamas and lovely people.
This was our first stay in our trailer and the host was very helpful with tips when we hooked up everything for the first time. There were chickens, llamas and a dog named Diesel who loves to fetch pine cones. Great looking ranch run by some hardworking people. Make sure to park your car(s) directly in front of and/or behind your rv if you have them so that all your taken space is in a single row, the ranch hands need space to drive trucks and do their work (which does start in the morning and is to be expected, just something for light sleepers to know.)
Amazing spot. 30 Amp, Water and Dump. Very easy in my 24' class C. T-Mobile worked better at time than others - seems on the edge of range so went from 1 bar - 2 bars - and occasionally no service at all. Still email and texting were possible, one morning got dropped on a call - I understand Verizon and AT&T are better at this site. Still, I was able to do all the communications I needed. My hotspot wasn't stable enough for streaming. The facility, and grounds are beautiful complete with pond & waterfall. Llamas, chickens, sheep and a dog that loves to fetch a stick! The host was gracious and guided me to the exact place to hookup and asked for a call when I was about 10 minutes out. Covid-19 safety precautions - host was wearing a mask - and so was I. "Better safe than sorry." I hope to come back again.
This was our very first BDW stay and actually our first night in our teardrop trailer. Bob was great in communicating via email/phone and even helped us newbies get set up.
As we drove in, we were first greeted by some llamas roaming around the fenced part of the property. Bob greeted us as we pulled in and guided us into our spot for the night. It was a lovely setting and beautiful ranch.
We were also greeted Diesel who is a friendly dog and likes to play fetch. There is a hen house close by and were lucky enough to be given some fresh eggs (which were delicious!). There is an adjacent area with a berry patch and apple trees that we were able to pick from. Bob gave a great tour and the grounds are immaculate. We didn’t make use of several other things available to guests which is listed in the property description. The next morning we met Bunny (I hope I got that right) and she had Munchkin with her, a cute little Terrier. Their dogs got along great with our dog - always a plus!
A wonderful first time experience and a beautiful place to stay. Highly recommend.
RWBLOUNT at Tripod Ranch was a wonderful host. He went out of his way several times to make sure we were comfortable and happy. It was a great experience.
I have stayed at rv resorts that weren’t as nice. Nice people beautiful place clam and relaxin
This was a great stop and our host went above and beyond to help us out in more ways than one. Thank you for everything.
Mr. & Mrs. Blount are great hosts & their property is beautiful! Such a peaceful, relaxing location!
We are girst time rvers. This was the perfect location for our maiden voyage of our rv. Owner was very welcoming. The premises had full hook ups. It was perfect for us.
This is our second time here at the Tripod, and just as relaxing as the first. I joined Boondockers Welcome just to stay here!
This time around, we left the kids at home as my wife and I celebrated our 17 year anniversary. The quiet, the large space, the animals and the full hook-ups make this place our favorite over any place else. Including commercial parks and state parks.
We look forward to returning a third time.
We had a wonderful time staying at Tripod Ranch. Bob and Jan were great hosts and their property was beautiful. We stayed with them for 5 days, enjoyed nightly walked around the property, petting the Llamas, playing fetch with their dog Diesel and traveling into Portland (only 30 min drive away). Thank you!
Based on the reviews I had already read about Tripod Ranch, I was looking forward to arriving! My husband, though, was concerned about the 13% grade!!! We have a 32' trailer we tow w a Suburban. The turn into the driveway was a little hairy as was the turn to leave! And it is a curvy hill to the top, but we did it! We were greeted at the stop by the shop by a Llama by the fence! Our poor dog saw him & whined bc he couldn't figure out what that was!!! The drive up & the grounds around the house are beautiful! There is a waterfall that is so peaceful with a bench to sit & relax. We were allowed to let our dog run free in the fenced in backyard which he has so desperately needed to do! AND we had full hook ups! We plan to return and spend a week bc of the serenity, the animals, everything just mentioned AND the great host! Thank you, Mr. Blount, for an amazing, peaceful stay!
Beautiful property for my family. We had the run of most of the property, saw chickens and lamas. Beautiful pond. My kids enjoyed the green grass to sit on. I enjoyed the quiet. Far enough away from the road that you don't hear any cars, and the wifi is strong enough that we were able to watch Disney Plus. I am very much looking forward to coming back!
Really nice people and perfect for a couple of nights. Level ground. Places to walk the dog. Convenient and easy to get to. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
This was our second visit and it was really just such a blessing to know we had a safe and welcoming place to stay when we came through Portland this time :)
Our time at Tripod Ranch was just lovely. Their boondocking spot is easy to get into and get out of. Their property is fantastic, my kids loved the play set, the goats and llamas and the chickens. It was peaceful and incredibly safe, I only wish we had more time to enjoy the property.
Mr. Blount has a wonderful and beautiful property with exceedingly clean environment, and the property has much more to offer than expected!
What a wonderful respite in our journey! We hope to stay again in the future when we come through Portland. The property is so beautiful, and the kids loved the "Alpaca Parade" (I think they are actually llamas?) as they trooped by with the big horned sheep! The play structure was an amazing bonus for our kids and we did partake of the hot tub once and that was lovely as well. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
We couldn't have picked a better host for our first time experience with Boondockers Welcome. Our only regret is that we could only stay one night due to our schedule. Our host was very welcoming and the location is pleasantly quiet and secluded for being only 7 miles or so from larger city shopping locations. We hope to come again and stay for a longer visit.
Bob was a very generous patient host! It was our first time Boondocking and just moving out of our place so we were still adjusting to RV life. He made it easy! I absolutely adored this property and animals! He welcomed my kids and pets and my girls enjoyed walking the property, kissing llamas and swinging on the play structure. We would definitely recommend Bobs ranch and would love to come back soon!
Tripod Ranch is perfect! We loved it so much we stayed 3 nights. The family that hosts you are kind, generous and thoughtful. We will definitely be staying again. You need to stay here!
With great thanks,
~Jeana & Mark
We are so happy to have found this amazing place! The parking is perfect, Bob the host is so kind & all the animals are so fun to hang with.
We love it here and will be back.
With great thanks,
~Jeana & Mark
Bob was super welcoming and accommodating! He was very generous with his land and his animals are super friendly! We enjoyed playing on the play structure and kissing the llamas! We would definitely love to come back and visit!
We appreciate Bob allowing us to stay at his beautiful Tripod ranch. It was quite and peaceful and Bob and his family are really nice to talk with.
Beautiful piece of property with a welcoming host. The full hook up was perfect as we wanted to give the vanabus a thorough cleaning before heading to visit my Mom a couple hours up the road.
Bob was there to greet us and show us around when we arrived and make us feel at home. They have beautiful land to walk around as well as chickens, sheep and lamas to visit. They were also gracious enough to let us visit at feeding time and let us participate as well. Fun and educational! What a great place!
Thank you for your hospitality! Your peaceful location and accommodations (full hook ups) can’t be beat. Hope to come back!
It was a real pleasure to see all of you; unfortunately, we missed the third member of the "tripod" this time around. Bob is always incredibly welcoming and Bunnie is a true joy to sit and talk with, which we were fortunate to be able to do on this visit. We hope to stay a full five days the next time we're in Portland. Thank you all! We can't wait to see you again!
Erin & Richard
We were welcomed and felt immediately at home during our stay. Thank you so much for a relaxing and quiet stay near the city!
What a beautiful spot and kind hosts! The kind and generous spirit of this family cannot be overstated. We loved this peaceful spot and are so thankful for such a great first Boondockers experience!
This place is better than 99% of campgrounds we've been to! Our hosts were great with communication, met us upon arrival, and gave us a tour of their ranch. They allowed us to use all their amenities, including full hookups and their hot tub! Very sweet people!
We have a 42' motorhome pulling a Jeep. The host advised we are the largest rig to come in there and that the driveway may be a little tight. We disconnected the Jeep 2 miles back just to be safe. Turns out that was a good plan. The swing into the driveway entrance was close and the curvy drive makes you pay attention but it was nothing that couldn't be done. Even the 13% grade up to the house was nothing to worry about. We had to stop halfway up because the drive comes to a 'Y' and we didn't know which way- stay to the right.
Huge parking area, beautiful house and property. You will love it here!
We enjoyed our stay with RL on his beautiful property, in spite of inclement weather and one of us being ill. We highly recommend staying at Tripod Ranch and visiting with our host.
Wonderful place to rest in between hectic travel weeks! The hosts were very lovely and have a beautiful property they generously share! We even made grape juice from the Concord grapes they had available. Great cell service. Would love to stay again.
This was my first experience with boondockers welcome and it was great! The hosts were very friendly and kind yet gave me my privacy. It’s a beautiful property with gardens, lamas, goats and chickens. I was welcomed to use the fire pit, outdoor cooking & kitchen / bathroom facilities and electric / water if needed. I explored the area, attended the farmers market, took a few hikes, hung out with a friend then appreciated a lovely boon docking spot to go back to.
We can't thank RWBlount enough for sharing his beautiful slice of Oregon beauty with us.
Acres upon acres of wonderful farmland nestled in the rolling hills of his Ranch. Our doggo Theo loved his morning walks on the property, complete with adorable llamas (which he though were the biggest squirrels in the history of squirrels). We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again if we came through!
What a beautiful property. It’s amazing to stay in a nice quiet peaceful location so close to the big city.
We had a wonderful stay on Tripod ranch. Bob was extremely accommodating and gracious with his beautiful homestead.
R,B,&J are beautiful human beings! Loved waking up near llamas and a waterfall! Cooked a meal in the campfire, enjoyed the serenely. Welcoming and kind.
Yes, driveway is steep but worth it!
This is much nicer than any RV park! What a treat!!!
We have a 40' RV and was able to get in and out with ease.
We got the full tour and some fresh eggs.
It was 94 degrees when we arrived, so the 50 amp hookup was a blessing.
We had to leave very early in the morning but will be returning for sure in the future.
My only suggestion for travelers coming here is to pay close attention to the pink sign in the photo above.
Google took us down a very narrow road just south of them and it was very difficult getting out.
Thanks for being able to accommodate us for few more nights, even though we both worked the majority of the time. The serenity your property provides is exquisite!
Can't say enough about how wonderful this place is to stay.
Beautiful grounds, gracious hosts. Lots of extra special things you don't expect at other places.
Truly amazing. Highly recommended.
A very beautiful, quiet, peaceful stay. Lots of room. Enjoyed seeing the llamas, goats, and chickens. The hosts were very generous and delightful.
We can't say enough good things about Bob, Jan, and Bunnie. They are not just kind and incredibly generous, they're also fascinating individuals with a wealth of talent and life experiences between them.
As for their astonishing home and estate, both are a true paradise in the heart of Oregon. If you're fortunate enough to stay here and meet these wonderful people (and their delightful dogs!), you'll have had a once-in-a-lifetime experience, never to be forgotten.
We're sorry to leave them behind, and look forward to staying in touch and visiting them again one day! Thank you all for the relaxing, wonderful time at Tripod Ranch.
Wonderful stay with 50amp service water and sewer if needed or wanted! (I missed that information on their profile). Beyond that access to the backyard, fire pit, outdoor kitchen......wow!!! Such hospitality!! The setting is away from hustle and bustle but close enough for fun day trips!! Great stay!! Thanks so very much!!
Thank you for the hospitality and fresh fruit direct from the plants
Location is epic if you are looking for a country setting to get away from city
Wow! How lucky we are to have found this gem of a stay just outside Portland. With beautiful land, friendly hosts, and hookups, this place cannot be beat! I love their mentality, that they love their land so much that they just have to share it! Thank you for showing us what true hospitality means.
Great place with full hookups and gorgeous property to walk around. Thank you so much for having this spot available to us and fellow rvers! We greatly appreciate it!
We immensely enjoyed our stay at this quiet location. The hookups and WIFI access was much appreciated abs the kids had a great time on the playground and playing with the friendly dog. Would enthusiastically recommend.
We wanted to camp with our son & family who have a “new to them” 5th wheel trailer that they just started remodeling. This was a “shake-down” overnight and we couldn’t find any campsite available over July 4th. Fortunately Tripod Ranch had two spots available for two nights on their 14-plus acres ranch. What a fabulous location and wonderful hosts. Bob met us to help park us then left us “alone” to enjoy their lovely grounds while our little grandsons took advantage of the playground & the paths. We had power, water and sewer (which we didn’t need) and plenty of room for a 27’ 5th wheel and 31’ Airstream trailer. We had a nice conversation with the hosts the morning we were leaving and learned more about their passion for providing outdoor experiences for people with disabilities. Highly recommend these great hosts!
Enjoyed our stay very much. Matt was so informative and helpful. Very nice, gracious hosts. Thank you!
I can't improve on what everyone else has said about this wonderful host and their location and their family.
RWBlount's location is on a lovely ranch with views out to Mt. Hood on a clear day. Their property is beautiful and they're very generous with their space and Full Hook-ups. We had a lovely time exploring nearby trails, visiting trails, and seeing Portland nearby.
Where to begin? Well, first of all our host was incredibly accommodating when a broken battery charger/converter delayed our arrival by three days. And the property was just beautiful. The owner was away in town when we arrived so the groundskeeper/tour guide welcomed us and showed us to our spot complete with 50 amp service, water, and a dump station! Then he proceeded to give us the low down on all the great things we could take advantage of during our shortened stay. We were also warmly welcomed by the chickens, goats, and llamas! We spent our one full day exploring all of the beautiful waterfalls and fish hatchery in the Columbia River Valley. We would definitely come back for another stay. Thanks to our wonderful host, his family, and our tour guide!
The hosts were very welcoming and hospitable. This was one of our best stays yet and even better than most campgrounds we've stayed at. Our family enjoyed talking with the hosts, playing with the family dog, watching the chickens, llamas, and taking a walk around their beautiful property.
What a wonderful stay. We'd like to meet them again in the future.
We are so grateful for the stay we had at Tripod Ranch. Our hosts were very welcoming. Their property is quite peaceful too. Our kids had a blast playing in their yard and with their energetic dog. Fresh eggs from their chickens and a fun time with their llamas were other highlights. We would definitely stay again. The RV hookups, fresh water and dump station really helped too!
.Extremely gracious host at a beautiful property. Very conveniently located to Portland, Mt Hood and other attractions. My wife came down with a stomach bug and the host graciously allowed us to extend our stay a few more days, even with other guests arriving! The rooster was a welcome morning wake up call! And FHU s available!...almost boondocking NOT!
One of our nicest boondocker stays.
We were on a trip to visit family in CA when we learned my sister’s husband had been diagnosed with late-stage 4 pancreatic cancer and had been moved to hospice care - right before Memorial Day weekend. We searched in vain for a place to stay with no luck.
We requested a stay at Tripod Ranch at the last minute and were welcomed to this amazing place. We were warmly greeted, shown around and were able to set up our rig with full hookups while we visited our family.
We are so grateful to Boondockers Welcome and the amazing RWBlount at Tripod Ranch for a wonderful, serene and secure place to stay in out time of grief.
The property is beautiful and exactly what I needed and I wish I could have stayed longer than one night. More important at this time in my journey was the extra help I received from the groundskeeper, Matt. He helped me understand some of the things I needed to know about my new trailer and helped me feel more confident about backing up for the first time. Thank you!
Upon arriving late we were greeted by the kind groundskeeper, Matt! He got us settled in and made us feel right at home. When we woke up the next morning, we were enormously surprised by the beauty of the ranch. The space was quite, serene and meditative. The serenity pond was peaceful and the land was maintained nicely. We got fresh eggs for breakfast, went to go watch the llamas and goats graze. We also took a short walk on the trail behind the lodge. Our overall time at the ranch was stress-free. We loved talking to Matt about the property. Having full hookups was very generous and made our stay relaxing. This was our first boon-docking experience and it was beyond memorable. Although, we missed the owners, we would love to come back and meet them. Thank you!
Thank you so much for hosting me and your generosity. What a beautiful spot!
Beutiful...quiet ...FRESH EGGS FROM CHICKENS....would love to live here.....Linda& rusty
Living on disability I rarely get full hookups like an RV park, much appreciated. Fresh eggs from chickens for my breakfast burrito, a real nice quite spot to hangout, worked on web-sites, even WiFi if needed.
Thank you Bob, Matt etc. for your gracious hospitality.
Beautiful people on lovely land. Superb hosts welcomed me to their compound. Thank you for the restful day & night.
A beautifull experiance from start to finish. I would highley recomend Tripod Ranch to anyone particularly those wishing to Heal or Reconnect with Nature. Bob is a fantastic host he greeted us in the late afternoon upon our arrivel with a warm and most welcoming account of the ranch, animals and amenities. We stayed for five peaceful days exploring his beautiful ranch and the local area. Upon are last day we were BLESSED to meet Jan whom is an inspiration to ALL! I could of spent all day listening to her ideals and soaking in her vast knowledge of the arts, spirituality and most intriguing life stories. Jan is an inspirational writer/illustrator mixed media guru. She is highly gifted in the esoteric teachings and posses a desire to assist others that are seeking fulfillment. This retreat is an artist's dream..I painted and took tons of photos...I truly cannot say enough about them both.
*the best water you will ever taste
*beautiful blue skies in the day during January
*hottub and gorgeous backdrop
Thank you for blessing us with this beautiful ranch. We hope to visit again next year.
This was going to be my first experience using boondockerswelcome.com. Bob, the host, greeted me as I arrived on his property. I stayed on the property for 5 nights as I explored the entire area within about an 80 mile radius. It was a perfect setup - lots of space, full hookups, and even fesh eggs brought to my door one morning. As I went to say my goodbyes to Bob Bob offered to help me with leveling my trailer. We went down to his shop and we must have spent approximately 2 hours together more talking than working. As I was leaving I told Bob I definitely will be back. Thanks Bob for making my first experience perfect!
Amazing people and a beautiful property. We absolutely loved getting to stay here.
We only got to see these hosts in passing, and we left early due to itchy feet, but we look forward to our next time through their area.
They have a very nice location, full hookup available, and room enough to turn our 5th wheel around easily. There's a playground in the back that our daughter greatly enjoyed.
I hope we have time to stop and visit with these folks next time we go through.
Tripod Ranch was a wonderful retreat away from the city. Kids really enjoyed the animals and playground.
Host was friendly and helpful.
We absolutely loved our stay at Tripod Ranch.
Great place to stop with a very unique story.
What a beautiful place to stay near Portland! We had such a great time staying at this location. So serene and enjoyable. Thank you!
A beautiful location with available hookups, plenty of space and convenient to Portland and Mt Hood, what more could you ask for? Our hosts were friendly, accommodating and generous with some fresh eggs. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again if in the area.
RWBlount was very helpful and it was nice to have hookups and water available.
We had a wonderful first boondocking experience! The turn from the road up their driveway is a bit tight but we made it in a 40ft RV pulling my car. The area is only 35-45 min into Portland which is hard to believe once your out there. The area is gorgeous! Llamas, sheep, and chickens! Not to mention BlackBerry and blueberry bushes that Bob told us we could go pick as much as we wanted (their freezer was full).
Also, with full hookups and access to a hottub.. it didn't feel like we were roughing it one bit. Our hosts were incredibly accommodating and nice (gave us some fresh eggs)! We had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to stay again if we were in the area.
If you want a quite place to stay and explore Portland and the Mt. Hood area, this is definitely your place!
Very gracious hosts and the nicest people we have come across. We have a toddler so when we found out that they had a small playground out back it made it a lot easier for us to have the kid running around. The ranch is beyond beautiful. As is all the amenities. We plan on returning whenever we can.
The host watched for us as we were coming in near 9pm. So friendly and generous. Beautiful property with some features that were very helpful (yard area we could let our dog run was HUGE). Also had option for hookups, which we did not require. But extremely hospitable and kind.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Tripod Ranch! The grounds are beautiful, the animals are entertaining and the hosts are so generous and friendly. We had a great time getting to know them and their family as we were around for a family holiday get together. Using the hot tub was such a treat and watching the various animals was a refreshing experience. We hope to visit again on our next trip around the area. Thanks so much!!
We had so much fun at the tripod ranch!! We have been on the road for 2 months now and it has been one of the highlights of our trip. Our daughter talks about it everyday. Bob was so welcoming and generous with his beautiful property. We were so blown away by the kindness he showed us. What wonderful people. Thank you so much so a spectacular stay!
We enjoyed our stay at the Ranch and the hosts and his team were very nice and helpful. It was great to visit with the animals and watch the chickens! We will definitely be back if we are ever in the area again!
The 'tripod' were wonderfully welcoming, and the grounds are spectacular. There is an abundantly spaced parking area for any sized rig.. while I was visiting, there were two of us over 35'. With Llamas (if I've got that right), goats, chickens, and fish to feed... the kids are sure to enjoy their stay...as did the little ones which were there, during my four days. For my first time using BW... this was a fantastic experience. Thank you so... so much!
Our thanks and best wishes to our hosts who provided us with a secure and extremely well appointed overnight , level stay. We enjoyed getting to know a bit about you and may be back one day to catch a glimpse of the elusive lamas.
This location was incredible for several reasons- its a beautiful secluded ranch, close enough to Portland to enjoy the city, but with an incredible view of Mt. Hood and access to all it offers. The hosts are very welcoming, generous (fresh eggs from the chickens!), and were fun to socialize with! They have llamas, goats, sheep, and chickens on site which was awesome- one of the llamas gives kisses! The general feel of the property is very warm, and since they host different groups and retreats throughout the year, you really don't feel in the way at all. They let you use the hot tub, fire pit, play structure for kids, etc. PLUS, full hook ups! I couldn't have asked for a better stay! I hope I'll be back again some day!
Mr. Blount, his family, and ranch staff were very friendly and helpful while I familiarized myself with my new travel trailer that I purchased at a nearby dealer. I am very grateful to them all.
This was the perfect oasis while visiting friends and doing errands in the Portland area.
I stayed at the Tripod Ranch for a few nights and the hosts were so inviting!! I had no idea what I was doing as this was my first time using boondockers welcome, but the hosts were awesome about it and made me feel welcome.
The Tripod Ranch was an easy in and out for my 30 foot trailer. The amenities there are so good, you are not really boondocking with full hookups. RWBlount were very welcoming and they shared their experiences with both travel and the ranch. They let my kids feed the chickens, fish, llamas, and partake a little in farm life. We came for Portland, but also found Oregon City to be very fascinating as the end of the Oregon Trail.
Very friendly hosts and adorable critters! we got to feed the chickens and the llamas - Bandit is the cutest llama I've ever met and is a sweetheart.
The property is beautiful and while the driveway is steep it was totally manageable in our 34-ft class A! (they are not kidding about that 13% grade though - big thanks for giving me a ride back up after i walked down!)
if the opportunity arises i would be delighted to stay here again!
What a fabulous, tranquil environment! Beautiful location and gracious, helpful host family! We’re so thankful for the experience!
This was my 2nd stay with a host, and it was just as good as the first one. It is a beautiful setting and a great location. Would highly recommend staying here.
We arrived late in the day about 7pm. Bunny met us and showed us where to park and where the hookups are. The property is very nice and private. We were tired and kept to ourselves. We would highly recommend staying with the Blounts. We're hoping to get our place setup for travelers. This experience helped us make up our minds on hosting. Thank-you.
Couldn’t stay for long but Bob and Jan made us feel nice and welcome for it!
We had a wonderfully time at Tripod Ranch Robert and Familey have a very beautiful place and where great host, we felt very welcome.
I have stayed with the Hosts several times and find them to be warm open and generous with their time and referrals for things to see or do in the area. If you are in need of RV repair, Bob could advise you very well for he is extremely knowledgeable of RV's and all things mechanical or electrical.
The property is AMAZING! beautiful views of the Mount Hood from the Lodge! A trout pond outside the place where you park your RV! Chicken coop on the other side of your RV - you definitely feel out in the country. The driveway is a little steep and trees on both sides but no sharp humps to navigate and if you drive slowly it is very easy.
Always a great time when visiting, I cannot recommend it enough!
