We have been married 42 years and have had an assortment of RVs since the mid 70s. Recently retired and purchased new Super C to travel and enjoy each other and sights within the USA. "Grandpa" has been a professional Drag Racer with NHRA, IHRA,Prostar, and SMDRA. He raced motorcycles from the 70s until 2008. Now we have slowed down the pace and race a Chevy S10 in the eighth mile sportsman class.
Joined Boondockers in hopes that travels will be having us see locations other than race tracks.
"Grandpa" is a motor head, excellent mechanic and engine builder and tuner. OCD for details on any and all mechanical things. Schoolmarm is great with kids, computers, crafts and can also help tune and clean carbs. Grandpa is a professional Drag Racer. He has won championships on motorcycles but at 70 years he has given up the motorcycle for an S10 Chevy truck but not given up racing . Linda is the crew chief on and off the track!
We have a dog named Camo. She is 12 years old and goes EVERYwhere with us. She is combo Catahoula and Blue Healer. We think she is gifted as she follows and understands everything we say. In March of 2018 we were given a second dog a pure breed Blue Healer. The two dogs are now best pals and very well behaved at home the same as they learn to travel together with us.
Hope to do more recreational camping than just traveling to and from racing venues.
Boondocking looks like it beats Walmart and rest areas.
First Boondockers experience was with family just outside Houston, TX. Excellent experience. This is a highly recommened resource.
Now that we have hosted several Boondoickers on our property we have a better idea of what to do and be the best Boondockers we can.
We are from South West Florida. "Grandpa" is a Florida cracker born and raised in central and south FLorida. "Schoolmarm: came to FLorida in 1972 from Massachusetts and taught Special Ed in Immokalee, Florida for 30+ years and then 10+ years in Fort Myers.
2018 Thor 35SM Chateau Super C. 550 Super Duty turbo Diesel. It has 2 slide outs on the right side. We have 2 trailers that we can tow. When going to racing venues to race we have a 24' tag trailer that has our Chevy S10 race truck, golf cart and equipment. When not racing we have a 12' tag trailer so we can bring our Chevy Spark with us.
We met a wonderful couple, Linda and Marion (aka SchoolmarmandGpa) on our very first Boondockers Welcome adventure. They were unbelievably helpful in every regard, including fixing some issues with our motorhome and giving us towing advice. We had a chance to check out their new motorhome and GrandPa's racing car. (This is not something one can experience every day!) They offered us to stay longer and we gladly did so in they nice and spacious backyard. Their dogs were as welcoming as them and we made friends with them right away.
All in all, our stay was awesome and we hope to meet them again in the future.
Linda and Marion, your hospitality was terrific, we'll recommend you to every boondockers!
We had a nice peaceful stay here. Linda and Grandpa were both very friendly and welcomed us as soon as we got there. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area!
Well this was a surprise. A comfortable parking spot with hydro and water what more could you ask for. We also made friends and stayed longer then anticipated. They are two wonderful people and we had great conversations and they even showed us around town. I would recommend this spot. WE plan to meet again on the road. Thank you again Marion and Lynda.
As of this writing I have not met this couple.
I will however be in Florida this spring and hopefully will be able to connect.
