We're a retired couple with a small home in a very rural area. Some people might call it the woods. But while the house is small and secluded, there's lots of room for boondocking, either in our driveway or in the area around our home, depending on your preference. We have full hookups with 30-amp service, if you can reach it. There's lots of wildlife around -- black bears, deer and even the occasional cougar. A river with good trout fishing is a few steps from our door. Very secure, since we're in a gated community.
A good general knowledge of RVs, since we've been RVing for at least 30 years. Not an expert, though. We have a large, well-equipped shop if you need to do some minor repairs.
The Lower Lee Vining campground in eastern CA, Owl Campground near Barstow, Death Valley, certain RV-friendly casinos, small-town parks and just about any Escapees resort. We like to search out new boondocking spots, and consider it a fun challenge to cover a few thousand miles without paying for a place to camp.
Our rig is a 2009 30-foot Forest River Wildcat travel trailer with a single slide. Tow vehicle is a 2009 GMC 2500 HD diesel. My next project is installation of solar panels for boondocking in Quartzsite.
