We’re mostly quiet and self-sufficient, though we do like to get to know people when we have the chance. We now work full time on our small homestead where we also host other travelers. We have a large natural garden, goats, chickens and a couple of farm dogs that stay behind when we travel. We stay busy with all the responsibility but we are passionate about RV life. The sights we've seen on these trips are great but the people we meet are what make the trip, and that's a big part of why we host. Being new empty nesters, we're always looking for new adventures & ideas. Sam is a cautious adrenaline junky, and Sarah is becoming more open minded about living on the edge.
We have a Facebook page for our travels at https://www.facebook.com/friendsinrvspaces
We are both somewhat experienced at Farming & Gardening (naturally without harmful chemicals)
Sam is a Private Pilot & (former) owner of a Cessna 172.
Sarah is a great cook and skilled at canning what we grow.
We are in the process of building a small campground on our homestead and have done all of the design and construction ourselves.
Two farm dogs, but they stay behind when we travel.
Airventure in Oshkosh Wisconsin, Texas Renaissance Festival near Houston, and random off-grid boondocking spots miles from roads.
Azle, Texas (Northwest of Fort Worth)
2013 Forest River/Prime Time Crusader 355BHQ, 4 slides, about 13' tall with two A/C's, and 40' long. Self contained with 200Ah of lithium batteries and generator power to run the necessities. Pulled by a 2011 Ford F-350 crew cab, long bed, diesel, 4WD.
We would host them again in a heart beat. Very nice people and even left us a thank you card. Might have to go stay at their host site sometime!
Sam was a real pleasure to host. We had good conversation and fellowship. I wish him and his family nothing but the best.
Enjoyed the little bit of time we had to hang out but would definitely host them again!
Sam and Sarah are very nice folks, friendly, and unassuming. Very thoughtful and responsible. Because he works on line and we are busier than retired people should be we only got about an hour of ‘chatting’ in but that was very nice. They left us with a tasty treat to remember their kindness by and they are more than welcome anytime at ‘Our Place’. We hope to be their guests someday at ‘Friends in RV Places’. Until then, we wish them happy trails, clear skies, and tailwinds.
We LOVED having Sam & Sarah here for a visit. The only problem was the stay was not long enough. We shared all kinds of stories. I took Sarah to the Cheese factory so she could taste cheese curds for the first time. We swam in the lake and all had dinner together. They are very responsible, respectful guests. You will never have any guests this wonderful! We cant wait to have them back. We already have plans for them to make us a regular pit stop for EAA.. Plus we invited them to come enjoy the snow this winter..
For those traveling> They are also hosts in Texas. They have a small farm and animals.. If your traveling to Texas they would be a MUST STOP AND VISIT...
Thank you guys it was our pleasure to have you here. Im sure we will be lifelong friends..
We enjoyed meeting and sharing stories SamAndSarah. Sam even helped us with moving our lawn mower shed - which more than paid for any utility usage! My disappointment was that their rig was not tall enough to take out my radio dipole antenna. Would have given me more push to replace it soonest. I will be interested to hear stories from AirVenture and maybe host a glider ride. And we may just drop into their host site for one of our beginning trips.
This member and their family were quiet, respectful, and very gracious. They even brought us farm fresh eggs! We only wish we hadn't had so much rain that we had to get creative to find them a decent spot to park not in a mud puddle! We'd have them back any time.
This is our second stay with Sam and Sarah and we just had such a great time the first go round. The second stay was no different, they are the most welcoming people you can meet and have worked very hard on there home away from home for travelers… do yourself a favor and stay here a night or two, ask them about s’mores, they know a thing or two now …😊
SamAndSarah's place is highly recommended. I had a great night here and they are wonderful people. They showed me around their property, the goats, garden, dogs. I was in a Class B campervan and it was easy to navigate. They have pull through sites and some back-ins. There are a lot of nice touches that really make this place shine! They have set the bar high for me, as this is my first Boondockers Welcome stay. Cheers!
This was our first experience with BW. The host and hostess gave us details before we arrived, and meet us went over everything. Answering all questions, they are very polite and respectful. Beautiful working farm, and really put thought and detail in rv area set up. We will definitely be returning. Highly recommend.
They where very friendly and very helpful. Meet us when we pulled in and helped us to our site. Very nice people and we enjoyed staying there. Thanks again. We will see ya again sometime..
The host was very friendly and waited up for us as we pulled in rather late. Beautiful property! We would definitely have loved to stay longer and would come back to stay there again if traveling back through the area.
Hey guys, I'm so sorry this reference is so late! Our stay with you was amazing! You guys are fantastic hosts and have the best accommodations we've ever experienced. We'll be back next time we're in the area.
Sweet hosts, beautiful property. Full hookups, all offering plenty of room. Sam and Sarah have put a lot of thought into making the sites comfortable. We had a BBQ pit, level site, quiet and peaceful!
Another great stay! The host offer a shower, laundry and fresh veggies. Grateful for the hospitality!
Sam and Sarah are hard working farmers and go out of their way to make sure that you are settled in.
The Farm is quiet with all of the amenities that you do not expect at a Boondockers site. The iew of the field in front of our rig was so relaxing. Pheasants and others birds are plentiful.
Thanks Sam and Sarah!
We enjoyed our stay here!! Sam and Sarah were phenomenal hosts!! The farm and land was beautiful!
We even got 4th of July Fireworks show from the neighbors!!
We will definitely stay here again.
We cherished their property and kindness we were not ready to leave and extended our stay. We bought some fresh eggs and you can definitely tell they are passionate in their craft of farming!
Most welcoming and amazing host and couple. They showed us around their garden and animals they have on site. They took the time to teach the kids how to properly pick fresh apples. Yummy!
This is by far my best experience. The host greets you upon arrival. Makes sure you have everything you need for your stay. The perfect balance of hospitality and privacy! They offer a laundry and shower accommodation if you choose. A tour of their little farm which is amazing. Everything I needed was within about a 30 minute drive. Perfect!
Very well setup for glamping! Friendly host. My family and I stayed here for the 4th of July. Had a great time!
Wow! What a cool little farm and family style campground they have made here. Our host met us and directed us to a pull through spot with full hookups. After dinner he showed my son and I the animals. A little off the beaten path but so nice and so quiet. Wish we had more time. Definitely stop there if you are in the area.
Sam & Sarah have gone above and beyond to provide an RV park like experience on their property. They have created many sites, each equipped with electric, water, & sewer hookups. If you prefer to boondock instead, there are 3 spots available for that purpose. We were warmly greeted by our friendly hosts, who showed us around their beautiful property. They graciously gave us a dozen fresh eggs from their chickens that we enjoyed for breakfast. They have goats & pigeons, also. We stayed here during 4th of July weekend. Hosts provided excellent communication. If you are after some socialization with other boondockers & hosts this is a great spot for you. If you’d rather go about and do your own thing, this is a great spot for you too. A great plus was that Sam has created a bathhouse — with a full sized shower & new washer and dryer. It was great to be able to do a load of wash while on the road. Located near Fort Worth, Texas, we were able to check out the stockyards — Which I would not miss if you’re in the area. There is also a professional rodeo in town! The camp is also conveniently located near Dallas. Thank you again for everything Sam & Sarah.
This was a great location. Sam and Sarah were very friendly hosts. They put a lot of time and effort into their property and it's a really neat place as a result.
Really enjoyed staying with Sam and Sarah. Super great spot near Fort Worth but feels like worlds away from the city! Loved it!! Nice to meet you both.
Friendly host with professional rv hookups; water, electric and sewer. No shade
SamandSarah are great host, what a wonderful property. Easy access and peaceful surroundings.
SamAndSarah has put a lot of thought and work into their Boondocker campground. As new Hosts ourselves we learned several things we need to consider for our boondock site. This is the best of over 10 places we have stayed so far.
First time to stay at this place, it was great, told them what time I'll be there was a little late, they left me a message and said one had canceled and I can move into a different spot which was more level so that worked out great, Sam was there when I got there and he met me got to visited a little bit and then visited when I left was not there much during the time just at night basically was a great stay, we'll stay again if I can.
I do recommend it. Thanks for the eggs also.
Grateful for their understanding and flexibility. Highly recommend.
It’s nice to be greeted with a smile, a friendly welcome and a dozen fresh eggs. Even though it’s not expected, it’s nice to be treated to a dozen fresh eggs.
The hosts have continued to greatly improve the property and the number of guest sites. It’s quiet and peaceful, and the sunrise and sunsets are magnificent. Enjoyed all the attention from their friendly dogs and their goats. Looking forward to my next visit.
Sam and Sarah are wonderful hosts and have a lovely space with full hookups and a nice little bathhouse and laundry room. They even greet you with fresh eggs on your entry. We are absolutely pleased with our stay here and would not hesitate to recommend them or to stay again in the future. We also have extended our stay via their HipCamp option. This was our first BDW stay and we couldn’t have picked better hosts for our first stay. Thanks so much to you both.
We enjoyed our stay! This is an amazing facility for those that want some peace and quiet! This is a working farm with goats, chickens and gardens. Just ask Sam and Sarah for a tour. If you want something a little more, plenty of things to do in nearby Ft. Worth. There are great bike trails in Ft. Worth for those that like to ride paved trails.
Sam and Sarah are genuinely nice, low key and helpful. if you are new to the RV experience, this is a place to start. This location has full hookups.
We really appreciated the warm welcome and the fresh eggs.
Host was very welcoming. The sites were well laid out and flat. Very quiet at night. There was one other RV there. Highly recommended if you want to be close to Fort Worth but still want some solitude and peace.
Simply perfect stop over!
Everything you need and GREAT hosts !!!
They took the time to show us their farm the animals and newly renovated hookups !
Would stop again ... nice and easy does it here !!!
Weather might not have been cooperative but hosts were wonderful! Felt almost spoiled with the attention to detail put into their place. This is obviously a labor of love with long term goals and I'm excited to see things continue to come together. Thanks so much!
This is our 2nd Time staying with Friends in Rv spaces. The hosts are so generous, and friendly. Love the fresh farm eggs. It was wet and muddy from all the rain, so couldn't visit the animals. They have nice gravel on all the rig spots so no worry with parking our 30ton conversion bus. They also have a shower and laundry house for guests. Lovely place!
Friends in RV spaces are amazing HOSTS!
They have the most amazing place and are the amazing hosts!
They have more than anyone could ask for at a Boondocking location!
Great company easy to talk with.
Their location is was so comfortable, quiet, and relaxing!
Thank you both!
We found Sarah and Sam on our way into the DFW metroplex. We requested a 4-day stay, and they accepted within an hour! It was a perfect location, as most of the stuff we had to take care of was nearby. Sam and Sarah met us upon arrival with a dozen farm fresh eggs and even offered to help get us parked. The farm and RV sites were immaculate, and the FULL HOOKUPS were a blessing. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and weren't able to take the tour of the farm... Next time!!
Close to downtown but definitely out in the country. Our first night I got to witness a roadrunner stalking a rabbit. I waited a few minutes to see if by chance a coyote would show up for the party! No luck. What was lucky was finding Sam and Sarah! They are amazing hosts to say the least. This is about as much like boondocking as a night at the Waldorf is like tent camping. Full hookups with any kind of power you may need. Well water that is filtered and softened. A bath house with laundry is provided right next to the campsites. And the sites, oh my! They are well graded crush and run with plenty of room to pull through or back in as the case may be. Each site either has it's own grill or firepit grill. Then there's a community firepit with horseshoes right there for anyone to enjoy! If all that's not enough, Sarah and Sam greeted us with a dozen farm fresh eggs as an arrival gift. Don't miss your stay here before it is fully developed and becomes a full fledge five star RV park. Thank you SamAndSarah for a wonderful stay.
Although Sam and Sarah had received an inch and a half of rain the day before we arrived, we dealt with parking on the crushed rock spot together as a four-person team. While we were gone the next day to the stockyards Sam re-graded the gravel around our camper and so when we left this morning it was a breeze.
Us and our doggy enjoyed the large yard and the beautiful springtime flowers coming up.
Kind host, accommodated my after dark arrival (in a small rig) due to a time change that I neglected to factor in. Woke up to wild flowers and chemical free veggies growing all around. There’s a full bath with shower and washer dryer and full hookups available. And I was greeted with fresh eggs! A sweet gift that I was happy to offer a donation for in exchange. All in all a very pleasant taste of Texas in a quick one night stopover.
Gracious and wonderful hosts. The property is near the end of a dead end road. The location is peaceful with the relaxing sounds of goats and chickens. Wildflowers were in bloom while we were there. The hosts have built out generous camping sites with utilities. Having laundry available to guests was a nice touch.
We visited the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge while staying here. It's a fairly short drive away and offers tons of hiking trails and animal and bird watching opportunities.
We would definitely like to camp here again, next time we're in the area.
I stayed there in March 2021 and found them to be wonderful ,hard working people . They were so helpful, and have a wonderful place. Gardens, farm animals and a country setting just like where I was raised Loved it
By far our favorite place yet! We will definitely be coming here again in the future. Peaceful neighborhood. Amazing owners. Adorable farm animals. What more could you want from a campsite?
Sam and Sarah met us at thge end of the driveway and showed us the site and made sure we had everything we needed. They took us on a tour of their beautiful property, gave us some tips on the area, gve us some fresh eggs and told us about a delicious Mexican restaruant. I wish I was as nice as they both are. I hope to get back that way just to stay with them again
Sam and Sarah are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. They have created a lovely mini-campground, that has everything one needs for an enjoyable stay. We had a couple of short visits and wish they could have been longer but our schedule did not permit it Sarah even gave us some yucca seeds and plants. It will be interesting to see if they will grow in WI. I would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises. Perhaps someday they will be able to come and stay at my place.
Sam and Sarah did a fantastic job of making us feel welcome and relaxed! They greeted us, toured us around their growing homestead and then left us alone to rest while remaining available for any tourist tips or questions we may have had. Slept well and met several other campers. Full hookups were much appreciated and only $10/day!! Sites were level and roomy too. Eat in Azle at El Paseo!! Great Mexican food 😊
SamAndSarah put the “welcome” in Boondockers Welcome. Their place is quiet and I especially enjoyed the well water. You see, here in Texas the municipalities have been adding so much chlorine to the water supply since service interruptions caused by the winter storm... the water smells like swimming pool water, not pleasant for bathing much less drinking! In addition to well water at each site, 20, 30 and 50 amp plus sewer hookups are available at each site. This is a working farm just far enough out to be nice and quiet but close enough to the services and entertainment of the city. I truly enjoyed my brief stay 😉
What an incredible place to stay! We stayed for 4 nights with SamAndSarah and it was a lovely time. They have 6 parking spots with nice level gravel. 3 are oull through. We stayed in a backin spot and had plenty of space with our 40ft bus and our tow car. Each spot has water sewer and electric. The road is nice and quiet so I had no worries for traffic to let my 2 boys 3&5 ride their bikes in the short driveway by the campers. The farm is just beautiful, with goats, chickens pigeons, koi fish pond and 2 nice dogs. My boys lived the goats the most. We enjoyed getting to know SamAndSarah during our time and some of the other campers as well. We will definitely stay again when in this area.
This is our first experience with Boondockers welcome but I just don't see how any other place will be better than this. This was not like we were staying on someones property, this felt like we we staying with family. Sam and Sarah have gone above and beyond to make this a comfortable stay and it is. It is a beautiful homestead with hookups , and I know that they will treat you like family. They welcomed us with fresh eggs and showed us around the farm , what a beautiful little slice of Texas. I hope that they always have a spot open because I know that we will be back here soon to see our new friends and all the things they have done here. If you are traveling through this area then you need to stay here, as many days as they have avail. If you pass them by you will be missing out for sure. Sam and Sarah, thank you and we cannot wait to come back !!
Thomas and Melissa
SamAndSarah are wonderful!! It was a very peaceful and family friendly. Our kids enjoyed meeting their animals. They were very accommodating as our plans changed. We would definitely stay here again!
A fantastic miniature RV park with full hook ups! Sam and Sarah met us when we arrived and got us all laid out. They invited us for a tour when we returned from our side trip. We ended up getting back late so did not get to take advantage of the farm tour but they have a beautiful little spot here. We appreciate the investment they have made in their property to help all their fellow RV’ers! We highly recommend them!
Sam continues to make progress on his construction of the ideal boondockers site.
We truly enjoyed our stay at Friends in RV Spaces. It's rare you find a spot with full hookups so that was incredibly nice to have. The owners have done such an incredible job turning their property into a lovely campground and farm, they've done so much already and we can't wait to see how it develops. They gave us a tour of the farm and we enjoyed seeing their birds, goats, and sweet dogs. They even gave us fresh farm eggs which were wonderful for our breakfasts. Quiet, peaceful, but still easy access to the cities and great mobile service. Couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay, thanks so much!
We highly enjoyed our time at Sam and Sarah’s farm. They have put a lot of work into building out campsites! We loved chatting with them and seeing the animals!
S&S are a lovely couple. They have everything you could need and even more. We stayed 2 nights and wished we could have stayed another. They recommended that we see the Fort Worth Stockyard and that was a great way to experience everything Texan!
It is located on a dead end road with only 2 nearby neighbors. Sam has extensive cctv coverage and you could not find a safer place.
A lot of mud and construction now, but Sam has an outstanding vision and is working every day to make it happen.
Later this year expect 7 full hook up sites, shower house, laundry and koi pond.
Don't buy eggs before you come. If the hens are doing their job they will give you a few free range farm eggs.
I really hope to get back before long.
This is our 3rd stay. I think it goes without saying that we love staying here!
We will return to this lovely little farm, we brought in a 44 ft 5th wheel with no problem. Site #3 is probably the only site we could get in but it was no problem. Had goats, chickens, fish and dogs. Even got some eggs. No THousand Trails near by so it was a God Send. Quiet sweet people, respectful of your time. Only wish we could have enjoyed a campfire together but just to busy visiting our family.
Hosts are very warm and friendly. This is a small working farm with animals and a large garden. They grow everything organically. We had great conversation about the farm and camping. Coincidentally, it turns out that we each had visited another Boondocker site at different times. Hosts like to RV when they get a chance as well.
If you are in the north-west Fort Worth, Texas area, this is a very convenient location back to town. There are 5 spots for now. It appears the Hosts have plans to expand. The location is at the end of a road with a small circle. If you have a larger rig (> than 30’), there are 2 spots that can accommodate for now. The other 3 would be best for rigs smaller than 30’ in order to get in and turn around if necessary. Water, 50-Amp electric and Sewer is graciously available. It would be best to contact the Host in advance to discuss parking availability and turn-around requirements before you drive to the location.
Television (90 channels over the air), and cell service is superb. You won’t need any kind of boosters. The cell tower is literally less than 1000 yards away. It’s country quiet. The water is soooooo soft. We were the only one’s here for most of the stay in early January.
We sincerely appreciate this opportunity to stay and getting to know the Hosts. We would highly recommend this location and we would certainly like to stay again in the future with the Hosts OK.
Absolutely beautiful! We had a blast touring the farm and even saw some newborn goats!
Found ourselves in the DFW area again, so we booked another stay at Sam&Sarah's! Can't go wrong with a place to either camp, or have full hookups available! If you come in season, you may just score some home grown veggies! We'll for sure be back because our jar of pickled jalapenos won't last long!
Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Full hook-ups! Cement pad! Super nice couple that I wish I could’ve spent more time with, however, the weather and my schedule didn’t permit that. I was lucky enough to get fresh eggs and peppers they raised! I hope to go back and kick back by a campfire with them.
As always, Sam and Sarah are gracious hosts! Always a fantastic experience when we stay. This stay was particularly special due to a delivery of amazing homemade chicken poblano soup!
Great stop...this couple is making 9 spots for RVers. Currently have 4 FHUs. They gave us a tour, complete with goats, chickens, doves and 2 dogs! Would love to come back to see their garden. An hour from Downtown Dallas and 30 minutes to Fort Worth stockyards. Thank you Sam&Sarah!
SamAndSarah are gracious, contentious hosts. They have clean, well maintained, easily accessible sites set on a lovely, private farm. It's close to the city and major roads, but you'd never know it when you're there- it's relaxing, rural environment. Both owners took time to show us around, tell us about their farm, and even let us purchase some of their organically grown produce! They are lovely, friendly people. My children loved watching the animals and picking their own peppers. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this location.
Their farm is tucked away down a country road and at the end of a dead end road so you will forget you're only 10 miles away from Ft Worth. Full hookups are available as they grow from a spot to park into a full RV resort. I cannot wait to come back and see the progress they make.
I highly recommend spending a night or a few days here!
The construction of Sam’s camp has just started and it has not been fully completed, but we have already enjoyed the extreme convenience brought by the full connection. Thanks to Sam and his wife, Sam’s family farm did a great job and provided them with a lot of life. Convenience, Sam is very honest and very capable. They did all the camp construction themselves. I like this place very much and I will come back again when we travel to this area. I shot some of Sam’s camp and uploaded it in about two days, hoping to share it with everyone。https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYjV8zmG5-Zv9FGuoYks56w?view_as=subscriber。
As always, great hosts! Spaces are really coming along. Got the full tour this time as well as a surprise care package of farm fresh eggs and garden veggies. Can't say enough about these good people.
Sam & Sara are excellent host, their place is a little piece of heaven. We only regret we didn’t get time to tour their farm. But definitely enjoyed the farm fresh eggs every morning !
Thank you all so much for hosting us.
Kati & Chad
We really enjoyed our stay at "Friends in RV Spaces". When we arrived Sam and Sarah greeted us with fresh eggs from their chicken coop. They guided us into the site (which BTW was FHU) and were available to us for any questions. Sam was always outside working and would stop and say hi if he saw us out and about. This is not boondocking, it was a great stay and we visited family in the area. We will be returning when we come back through the area. Thanks so much Sam and Sarah!
Thank you again for opening up your hearts and your land to accommodate full-time travelers like us! You both truly have a hidden gem/oasis. We've been full-time on the road since Sept. 2, 2020 and your place was the first time I was able to sleep through the entire night!!! Anyone traveling or passing through the Ft Worth Texas area should absolutely contact SamAndSarah for an amazing R&R. They have put a lot of their own hard work into making their property pleasurable and very accommodating for RV'ers. I hope others respect and appreciate what kind and hardworking souls these true Texans are :) We hope to visit again in the future and we truly look forward to seeing the growth and changes ya'll have made!!
Bill and Kristen Schroeder
I ended up getting here a little earlier than what I thought it would be. SamAndSarah came out and said hello and helped me get parked into my spot, as well as offered tips on how to park in the future.
This place was very peaceful to me. No highway noise or road traffic can be heard. Some animals as they mentioned. I enjoyed my short stop off here.
I really enjoyed my stay at Sam and Sarah’s. They are the friendliest, most down to earth people you could meet. Sam and I had some wonderful long conversations and I enjoyed listening to him talk about his dream of adding Rv spots and other things to his farm. They showed me around their farm and introduced me to their cute goats, their friendly dogs, chickens etc. They are building Rv sites on their farm and I can’t wait to see it when it’s finished. I highly recommend Sam and Sarah and look forward to my next visit.
Sam and Sarah made us feel at home. It was like visiting friends we had known for many years. If you are in the area it is a tremendous place to stay. It is only about 45 minutes to FT Worth.
Currently Sam and family are building a more robust campground on site. Some construction activities happening, but all was good for us. We look forward to seeing this place completed. Thanks for having us....
Sam was very nice and helpful! His farm was a nice get away for the four nights we stayed! ThankYou so much for the hospitality!
This was wonderful! A truly great farm. We look forward to coming back in the summer, to purchase some vegetables. Sam and Sarah are amazing hosts. Plus, we enjoyed all the animals, especially their new puppy, and the baby goats!. Definitely would recommend to anyone.
Sam was so helpful in giving us directions, helping us park and giving us great tips about the area. They have a nice level spot to park. We loved hearing the chickens, roosters and goats. The dogs are very friendly. It was a very relaxing stay and we would be happy to come back again.
SamandSarah provided a peaceful, safe place for us to park and sleep off the beaten path but handy to Fort Worth.
They were friendly and kind, gifting us a jar of homemade salsa. They had 2 sweet dogs, goats and chickens - an adorable little farm.
They are great hosts!
Sam and Sarah were very welcoming and fun to visit with. Very accommodating and flexible in the parking arrangements. Would have been nice to have more time.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Although we only got to meet Sarah briefly, we got to chat with Sam quite a bit and he is a great guy. We truly enjoyed our conversations. We hope to cross paths again in the future.
Sarah and Sam were excellent hosts. Communication was easy, they met us at the property and gave us our choice of parking with or without hookups. Our daughter loved seeing all the chickens and goats and especially the sweet dogs. We had a busy weekend but enjoyed our quick visit with them and appreciated their kindness.
What a great first experience as guests! We've been hosts for several years but finally tried being guests. SamAndSarah could not have been more accommodating and their location worked great for our needs. They greeted us upon arrival and helped us get settled. They also presented us with a dozen eggs and an information sheet about themselves and the area. The location is rural which is what we were looking for. We hope to visit here again and hope they will come to South Dakota and be our guests someday.
Darrell and Candice
This was our third time staying with SamAndSarah and each time it gets better and better! Their farm is one of go to sites where we will plan our itinerary around their location. Such gracious hosts and people we consider friends! We look forward to our next visit or meeting up with them when they're out on the road.
SamAndSarah hosted us again on our way back home and they were just as wonderful. Helpful in parking and filled our water tank. Thank you for your hospitality!
SamAndSarah were so nice and made us feel welcome. The parking area was level and easy to access. We would have enjoyed spending more time together and meeting all of the animals but the weather did not cooperate at all...very cold and rainy. Their dogs were very sweet and well behaved. We enjoyed the gift from Sarah at breakfast! We would recommend anyone passing through the area stay with SamAndSarah!
Sam and Sarah are gracious hosts as always. Their place is a real gem, a little piece of "country living" that's not too far from the conveniences of Fort Worth & beyond. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. We enjoyed visiting with their other guests, and the dinner and farm fresh eggs were above and beyond the call of duty.
Amazing hosts, amazing locating. They were super accommodating and great to chat with. We would recommend Sam and Sarah’s place to anyone in their area and will definitely be back.
Sam and Sarah met us with a flashlight when we unexpectedly arrived at dusk. They helped us get settled and then invited us to hang out fireside. They offered us farm fresh eggs and gave us a tour of their beautiful farm and garden. Wonderful people! I'm so thankful for this experience. Thank you, Sam and Sarah for a wonderful stay. We will be back!
Sam&sarah’s was a perfect place to stay as I traveled across the country. The whole family (including the dog) were friendly and generous with assistance.
Thanks for making me feel so welcome!
S & S were great hosts and a good spot to Boondock. Would visit again when in the area. Thanks
Upon arriving our hosts were out front ready to greet us with warm and welcoming smiles. They showed us to our spot that provided the power necessary for our air conditioner which is a must have in August around these parts. After settling in a bit, they kindly showed us around while having ready at hand a dozen fresh eggs they gave us with a friendly letter attached which invited us to keep in touch. The way they host their site, to us, is in perfect tune with what we feel boondockerswelcome.com's first mission might have been, one of camaraderie. These two are super kind and great hosts, we would absolutely recommend you get the chance to meet them!
We had a great stay at Friends in RV Spaces. They provided a level space with 50 amp service. Sam gave us a tour of their beautiful garden and farm animals and even gave us some fresh farm eggs which we enjoyed for breakfast. This is a great place to stay in the DFW area.
When we arrived at Sam and Sarah's property, we were not in good spirits. After receiving some advice from sam, Our mood was lifted. Their farm is very quiet and relaxing. They are very friendly and kind. They showed us around their farm and they have such wonderful puppies. They are very helpful with everything. Sarah mom was such a sweet heart. We were truly blessed to meet these wonderful people and I am glad that we got to experience this. If we are ever in Texas again we would stay here. Thank you for your hospitality! We hope one day we can return the favor!.
Great location for touring Fort Worth and Weathetford.
Very nice hosts ,the offered some vegetables and eggs from the farm, showed us around, we had great conversations and a good time.
Thank you very much.
Quiet place, nice little farm. Very friendly hosts. We enjoyed the stay, which was only one night - we would have liked to stay longer. We can recommend that spot to any guest.
Sam and Sarah were wonderful! Sam Met me when I arrived even without call ahead (I dialed the wrong number, duh). Helped me back in and even helped level my TT. Sarah presented me with 18 farm fresh organic eggs. The conversations were great an informative about their farm. It was a great place to gather my strength and relax. Thank you guys for sharing your lives with me.
This was my first time and I could not have ask fir a better exsperiance! I absolutley loved it their! Quiet, orderly, clean and felt very safe. Sam and Sarah are a soft spoken, hard working no bull couple with very BIG hearts! I truly enjoyed my stay. Waking up to fresh laid eggs on my steps. What??? Who does that??? Sam and Sarah does! Not only that but being invited to a holiday weekend meal with their family. I hope I did not talk your guys ears off. Sam and Sarah thank you for all that you do and offer. I pray you recieve three folds back. May God bless you abundantly for your generosity and hospitality!
Sam and Sarah could not have been more gracious They welcomed us to their property in the midst of a family reunion and took time to greet us with a gift. They paused their gardening chores to show us around the farm, and get to know us. I hope our paths cross again, maybe at the air show in Minnesota next year. I am sorry we could not have said so long before leaving, but we did not want to hold up their gardening chores any longer.
They accommodated me just before a Holiday on fairly short notice. It was a good experience not too far from the city, but far enough to get some rest. The hosts were very welcoming.
A peaceful place in the country side of Texas! Thank you!
Wow! What a wonderful stay we had with Sam and Sarah. So friendly, easy to talk to and accommodating of our needs. They are good stewards of the earth with their huge organic garden and their herd of goats and flock of chickens. We so appreciated their gift of the farm fresh eggs. They were able to give us great ideas about touring the area.
Sam and Sarah if you are out our way, please stop so we can return the favor

First off... I was impressed with how quickly I received a response for my stay request. I received plenty of room to park. There’s a nice quiet road to walk the dog. I was offered a tour of the farm. I loved taking pics of the animals… and the fresh eggs were a thoughtful bonus. I consider this sweet family my friends now. I can’t wait to visit them again <3
Sam and Sarah’s property is beautiful and gave a peaceful place to rest for the night. They were so hospitable, welcoming us with farm-fresh eggs and taking time to show us around their property. Our girls loved meeting the chickens and goats. We look forward to returning during the growing season so we can experience the organic garden!
Sam and Sarah greeted us with fresh eggs from their own chickens. They were very friendly and welcoming. They showed us the garden and their animals. We especially liked the baby goats. We would like to come back if in the area. We hope they'll come to Minnesota so we can return their hospitality.
Sam and Sarah were fantastic hosts! This was our very first time using boondockerswelcome and had a wonderful experience. Sam and Sarah are very down to earth and friendly. They approved our stay on such short notice, which was an absolute blessing in itself and even went out of their way to invite us over for dinner one evening. The location is close enough to “everything” yet far enough to where we were in the country. Would recommend this location and the hosts over and over again!
We are very thankful for their generosity in letting us park our RV on their property especially over the Christmas holiday. This was our first Boondockers experience and they were great hosts. Thank you sooo much.
They are a great couple living on a small farm. Very good place to park and rest. Plenty of room to turnaround. It was great to be there and visit. They are very friendly and helpful. Peaceful with fresh air and no city noise. I hope to go back there again in the spring.
We really enjoyed our few days we stayed at SamAndSarah in Azle, TX. They have a very nice quiet, country location at their farm, with easy access to the Lake Worth/Fort Worth area. We had a few maintenance/personal items to attend to after being on the road for 1-month and they made it easy for us to do that at/from their BDW host location. Thanks again SamAndSarah for hosting us and we hope to see you visiting with us at our location some time in the future!!
They gave our kids a tour of the farm including goats, chickens and of course their dogs! Wide open space to park in and far enough from the city you get that country vibe. Our host even brought us farm fresh eggs and home made jam! Could not recommend this place enough!
We enjoyed our second stay at their property. Hosts are friendly and we consider them friends. We would absolutely stay with them again.
We could not have had more hospitable hosts than Sam and Sarah! Even though we arrived in a rainstorm, Sam made a point to come out and make sure we were all set and comfortable. When we left the next morning, the two of them came out to say good-bye and even sent us on our way with some farm products. Very kind people, we wish them all the best.
We had a comfortable stay on Sam & Sarah's property. Our 30' travel trailer was parked on wood chip ground cover with plenty of room. Area was quiet except for roosters which were not a problem for us but our trailer windows were closed at this time of year. We would absolutely stay with them again and were very thankful for the gift of items from their farm.
Sam and Sarah were welcoming and gave us a tour of the farm. We felt right at home and had a lovely stay!
We loved out visit with Sarah and Sam. We found just the respite we needed on their sweet quiet property complete with chickens, ducks, goats and a couple of nice dogs. Their dedication to growing healthy clean veggies was right up our alley and we enjoyed the personal tour and info about the area. They even gave us a dozen freshly gathered eggs! These two are very interesting and just nice people. Even though it is very close to Ft. Worth we felt like we were way out in the country for a well needed relaxing evening. How nice to be awakened by the rooster before we got on our way!
Sam and Sarah were fantastic hosts. They ensured that a spot was ready for our rig, but our favorite part was being treated with such hospitality. The fresh eggs are delicious! They have an active farm and it was a joy to hear about it. We even got to meet their family!
Thank you Sam and Sarah!
Sam and Sarah were excellent hosts!! They were quick to respond when we requested to spend the night at their Boondockers location. They were also very flexible and fantastic when our plans changed a bit. Upon arrival, they greeter us and helped us get parked. Then, they gave us a lovely tour of their organic farm and animals. We had a delightful time! They even gave us a dozen farm-fresh eggs! How generous is that?!
We had a wonderful night of rest before we continued our travels the following day. They both came to say goodbye and wish us well. Definitely contact them to stay if you're passing through the area. It's an excellent experience :)
Sam & Sarah's home and property is quiet, spacious and easy to access. Quick response to my inquiry. Helped me to my spot and friendly greetings to their home. I would definitely stop by again if I am in the area. Thank you for being part of my adventure. First time using Boondockers Welcome. 👍
Hubs and I anticipated a 3 night stay to visit our son whom we have not seen in 3 years. Turned out we were in the area a day early due to having a mechanical issue that we were lucky enough to be fit in at a local bus repair facility. SamandSarah were extremely flexible in allowing us to add on an additional night. And then... The easy repair turned into a not so easy repair and the additional night was canceled.... And then the part that came in to repair was not correct and another repair item was found and needed another part ordered... Long story short - our over the weekend 3 nights had to be canceled due to our RV being one wheel shy in a repair bay for the weekend.. I am currently writing this in the RV, in the repair bay, on Saturday night, where hubs and I are "staying" for the weekend... Luckily our visit to our son has not been hindered, we just were not able to stay on the farm. We were so looking forward to it. Throughout it all SamandSarah were beyond kind, very understanding, super flexible and just lovely to "talk" to through the situation. Next time we are in the area, we hope to be able to visit / stay!! Thank you again for your amazing grace and kindness!! T
