I'm a retired single engineer who enjoys working on my whole house renovation, off-roading with my Jeep, motorcycle riding and of course RVing. I tinker on many things doing most of my own vehicle maintenance, including my RV.
As my Dad used to say, Jack of all Trades, Master of none. Or as a childhood friend of mine describes our (his and my) abilities, we've got Homesteader Licenses - we can fix (almost) anything. What we can't fix we probably don't have any need for anyway.
No pets at this time
Big Bend National Park, Guadalupe Mountains National Park and Alaska.
Soldotna, Alaska but I live in Murphy, Texas and have for the past 35+ years.
My current RV is a 2017 Leisure Travel Van (LTV) Unity set up for towing my 2dr Jeep Wrangler or my Honda scooter. The LTV is a 25' Class C built on a Sprinter 3500 cut-away chassis. I can turn it around on the parking pad in my backyard.
Our host was very patient and accommodating to us. He went above and beyond to help us. We had a little trouble getting in due to rain and he helped us get in and cleaned up behind us. His patience and grace was amazing. This was our first time and we could not have asked for a better host. His location was great for the RV and great in relation to Dallas. He also has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to rving.
Thanks for everything!
Great welcoming host. He helped us back down the drive way. The neighborhood was central to where we needed to be and quiet. I felt very safe staying here
While I attended a conference in Dallas on Friday, Bob helped my wife clean our motorhome tires to prep them for RenewProtect tire treatment. Then on Saturday, Bob gave me some more good tips as I treated my tires with RenewProtect (a great product btw). Thanks again Bob for such a pleasant, productive stay!
We were in need of wi-fi because ours crashed and BobinMurphy has a strong secure signal for his guest. It was a good stop the host is very knowledgeable of the area and answered all my computer server questions. I didn't get to quiz him as much as I wanted just plain run out of time. Get ready BobinMurphy we will see ya again someday!
We really enjoyed our couple of days here. Bob is a great guy, really friendly and knowledgable. His help and assistance with some jobs on our rig was invaluable.
He is an absolute genius! No joke! He is also very welcoming and so considerate. He knew the Darts (local train 🚊) that we should take everywhere and also the best places to eat. He lived on a culdesac Street which was perfect for my children and I to walk and bike on. He also knows everything about rv-ing! Such a wonderful person. We are so happy to have met him!
Bob was our first experience with boondocking. we were also brand new to owning an rv. Bob helped us so much with all of his life experiences and knowledge. i took many notes! his property is beautiful and is in a great location to sightsee.
Bob was a very nice guy and very helpful enjoyed talking to him and him sharing his knowledge...
Bob hosted me and my pup for 3 nights and was so accommodating. He offered water and electric, and I was parked on a nice dry and level surface that was fenced in. The neighborhood is beautiful and upscale. It is a slightly narrow drive like he mentions in his post, so you have to be able to back up well. Bob is so well travelled and has a lot of stories and knowledge. I look forward to looking at his personal webpage and many pictures of the places he's been. I cannot recommend Bob enough!!
Gave us useful info for where else we might boondock. Helpful even though we did not stay there.
