I retired a few years ago from a 40+ year career as and orthotist. My wife passed away in 2016 Sept 3rd. So as not to just sit and think I parked the 5th wheel and bought a van to travel in. I'm an artist and musician and have been filming for a VLOG which will soon be in production. I started in LA, worked up the west coast mostly on Route 1 and after Seattle headed East along the Upper states. Now I'm working slowly down East coast video taping things of interest: an assortment of museums, Large city and small local events, anything else that meets my fancy and rugged hiking whenever possible. Most of all, I'm meeting a lot of interesting, friendly people.
Building skills,(we built our house), Artist, Musician (guitar, mandolin, keyboards and vocals.
The desert outwest, any national or state park, a driveway, Wallmart (ok, driveway and Wallmart AREN'T favorites, but definitely not RV Parks unless I need to empty "the tank". Actually, I'm happy just about anywhere especially if I'm meeting people. The US is a great place to travel.
Lansing, MI, Traverse City, MI, Aurora, CO
My home is a long tall RAM van which took 5 months to convert to my specifications and particular lifestile. I am totally independent in it with solar power that runs the fridge, microwave, heater and coffee pot (what else do I need?). This allows me to have extended stays in the desert when I'm out west.
CColumbus was a delightful guest; considerate and friendly. He offered to lend a hand with some yard work we were doing, which was very helpful. He ended up staying two days because he was waiting for a package to arrive but it was never an inconvenience to us to have him there.
Rod (CColumbus) was a great guest. I enjoyed seeing his finely crafted class-B RV and hearing about his travels.
CColumbus was very nice and you would hardly know he was there.
We chatted a bit and he was very nice. Our son went out and Rod helped him learn some on his guitar.
This man is an idea guest. He's a lovely considerate person who also plays guitar and keyboard and is constantly asking if he can help you with whatever you're doing. He's self contained with solar and has a gorgeous new Ram Promaster hightop that he did the build on in the interior. And it's well worth seeing! Some ingenious design work and layout plans. After dinner we had a music jam that was great fun! He's touring the country full time. I enjoyed the hosting experience very much.
