My wife of 48 years and I are retired and love to travel the back roads of the US and Canada, visiting towns, cities and natural areas and meeting people as we go. I am retired and a life-long lover of nature and travelling.
We have visited 49 of the 50 states (we cannot drive to Hawaii) and all Canadian provinces except Nunavut and Newfoundland and Labrador. We hope to correct the omission of Newfoundland and Labrador this fall, while revisiting New Brunswick and Nova Scotia on the way.
Unfortunately, I have no skills that I think are worth bragging about. I do a little photography and know enough about computers to put up this profile. :-)
We are fairly new to boondocking and would prefer to expand beyond Wallmart and the like. We hope to be adding some Host sites as favorites in this profile soon.
Our rig is a 2008 GMC Savanna Van with a pop-up top which was installed by Sportsmobile of Huntington, Indiana. Other than the professionally installed top, it is generally a simple do-it-yourself conversion. It does seem to attract interest wherever we go. It is very maneuverable and can be parked anywhere. Rather than the typical RV toilet and black water holding tank (which can develop leaks), we have a "Reliance Products Hassock Portable Lightweight Self-Contained Toilet". Hosts can be assured that we need no facilities other than a parking spot and that we will take all trash and waste with us when we leave and we will transport it for proper disposal. We would also be happy to use an electrical hookup if it is available, but we do not require one. We try to keep it simple and believe that less can be more.
