We purchased our RV in the spring of 2017 and are looking forward to doing some exploring. More than ten years ago we started building our present house. We finished the interior ourselves and now find that we are ready for new adventures.
Dick formerly owned an antique clock shop and continues to repair and restore clocks at home. His love of old cars finds a few at a time in our garage making the knowledge and ability to work on them a necessity.
Nancy is a former art teacher who retired to become a full-time sculptor. Her love is carving stone using the many colors and types of marble found in VT. Her largest sculpture, however, was the design of our new home and all its artistic enhancements.
We are both mechanically inclined and we have a LOT of tools, if needed.
We travel with our quiet, well-behaved small Labradoodle named Ambyr.
Danville is a small town near St. Johnsbury in northeast VT. From its vantage point you can find incredible views of the Presidential Mountains of New Hampshire. The community lies around a Town Green where the Danville Fair takes place in August and Autumn on the Green happens in early October.
We have a 2016 Winnebago Era 70C Sprinter with a slide-out. We often tow our small Smart Car for exploring an area while the RV is parked.
It was great meeting you both and talking with you. Very nice quiet people. Come back anytime, we'd love to have you!!
We had a good visit, their second time with us. I got some tips on managing a colony of bees. Daughter enjoyed walking Ambyr around the property. :)
Quiet, courteous, and respectful. We enjoyed being their host. Looking forward to our paths crossing again one day.
I hope N & D will stay again when they return north to their home. Our families had a lot of good chats and played a little badminton. Their rig is nice and their pooch is very friendly and quiet. Communication in planning and en-route was helpful.
We enjoyed hosting these folks. They were very respectful. of our property and delightful to speak with. Their dog was very sweet and calm. They are welcome anytime.
What a treat to host this lovely couple! Polite and tidy, no trouble at all. Happy to welcome them again along with their sweet, quiet pup.
First time that we have had a visit from a host that we have boondocked with. Welcome back anytime!
Happy to give a fellow traveler a nice, quiet, shaded spot to rest for the night before continuing their travels.
quite enjoyed the 2 night visit from this couple.....they both have some unique skills they enjoy during their retirement. I know a lot of artists around my town but she's my first sculptor.....a friendly couple they put up with my chit chat chatter.....and Sadie their choco lab is such a sweet girl....not a noise from her....she loves to just relax and watch the world go by....you'll be glad to host this couple....easygoing...friendly and polite.
Perfect guest, quiet and polite.
An artist with a talent for chiseling sculptures from marble, I learned a lot that I did not know before.
Looking forward to visiting their spot in northern VT.
Sorry so late! Still learning here as had already posted but it did not show up!
This kind and so interesting couple were delightful! We so enjoyed our interactions!
The space in the field was perfect and private though none of us expected the long deluge. Thank goodness for their help and expertise in extracting us .
We would love to revisit, and absolutely want to stay in touch.
Don't miss this one!
We had a wonderful restful stay and enjoyed meeting this lovely interesting couple. We look forward to returning!
D & N were wonderful hosts, and we had a terrific two-day stay. They met us as we pulled in, and guided us to a serene spot in a clearing on their wooded property. We enjoyed talking with them over our stay, and their dog Amber is a sweetheart. We enjoyed biking on the Lamoille Valley rail trail just a couple miles from their home, and eating (twice) at Bentley’s Bakery & Cafe. Also visited a nearby 10th generation maple farm, Goodrich’s. It rained quite a bit before we left but with our truck’s 4-wheel drive we had no trouble pulling our travel trailer out. D came by to make sure we could get out, offering his tractor if we were stuck. D & N made us feel so welcome, and this was one of our favorite Boondockers Welcome visits!
One of the great pleasures of using Boondockers Welcome is the people you meet. This time being no exception. Not only did we have a very nice spot to stay for a few days, but our hosts are very nice folks. We shared a glass (or two) of wine on their great front porch which has a great view of the mountains to their east. Highly recommended.
The hosts were welcoming and very helpful. The view from their home is gorgeous and the parking site is amazing. No noise and a small stream is nearby. The site is close to interstate 91 and St. Johnsbury. We would definitely stay there again.
It was good to see the hosts again, me and my pup really enjoyed our time there.
Really enjoyed my stay. The meadow and trails were so peaceful and quiet. I felt like I was on a retreat back to nature. Best of all my pup was free to roam.
Simply stunning views. Thank you for allowing us to unhook and explore. Me and my son had a great time visiting Burlington.
Our family enjoyed your place and your kindness, it is such a beautiful and quiet place to stay. We will come back for sure. Thank you
Dick and Nancy were perfect hosts; we had an enjoyable visit with them, then parked in a beautiful glen for the night. So quiet and peaceful! We highly recommend them as hosts and would be honored to stay there again.
The Hosts were very welcoming and gave us recommendations for things to see and places to eat.
We enjoyed our stay here in the Vermont Woods. It is quiet and peaceful with a beautiful mountain vista. We enjoyed visiting the Cabot creamery and St Johnsbury's shops and eateries.
We highly recommend this Host and will request again on our next adventure.
A magnificent place, quiet and peaceful.
The hosts are delightful, their dog is very friendly.
We hope to be able to return to enjoy this place again.
Easy to find, Easy to access with plenty of options for parking, including the million dollar view. The hosts were gracious and treated us like family from the start. We had a number of conversations about myriad subjects. Both are artists with beautiful cars and carvings that complimented their lovely home. Will request to stay again when in the area.
The perfect start to our Vermont adventure. Cars-n-Carving welcomed us into their woodland retreat, no sounds outside of nature affronted our ears as we let the cares of the world recede. Our dog Niña had a fun off-leash visit with their dog Ambyr, running around the yard while we shared stories of our travels. We hope to see Cars-n-Carvings when they visit Maine thus Summer.
Dick and Nancy were the perfect hosts and their property for boondocking is the perfect setting.
Will definitely visit again.
We contacted Cars n Carving the week we bought our RV, and Dick and Nancy were generous and flexible when we arrived a few hours late from Boston, in Labor Day traffic with our two kids finally kinking our en route. The first night we plugged in to their garage great after the long drive. In the morning we chatted With Nancy and Dick before going out for the day to see family nearby. That night we dry camped in their field and had a relaxing evening with a short hike and campfire... Thankyou Dick and Nancy for hosting our maiden voyage, and first boodockers welcome experience! The Neelys
We stayed with Cars 'n' Carving October 12, 2017. They go way out of their way to make you welcome. We had no trouble parking our 25’ trailer in their meadow although one corner on the way from their house to the meadow required a second try to make it around. Strongly recommend them.
