We purchased our RV in the spring of 2017 and are looking forward to doing some exploring. More than ten years ago we started building our present house. We finished the interior ourselves and now find that we are ready for a new adventure. Our practice boondocking was on our own property. Boondockers Welcome looked like an interesting way to connect with other RVers.
Dick formerly owned an Antique Clock Shop and continues to repair and restore clocks at home. His love of old cars finds a few at a time in our garage making the knowledge and ability to work on them a necessity. Woodworking is another hobby to keep him busy.
Nancy is a former art teacher who retired to become a full-time sculptor. Her love is carving stone using the many colors and types of marble found in VT. Her largest sculpture, however, was the design of our new home and all its artistic enhancements.
We are both mechanically inclined and we have a LOT of tools, if needed.
We will be traveling with our newly-adopted small Labradoodle named Ambyr since losing our 16-yr-old chocolate lab in June 2018.
Danville is a small town near St. Johnsbury in northeast VT. From its vantage point you can find incredible views of the Presidential Mountains of New Hampshire. The community lies around a Town Green where the Danville Fair takes place in August and Autumn on the Green happens in early October.
We have a 2016 Winnebago Era 70C Sprinter with a slide-out. Our daughter gave us a set of dragonfly lights and a banner to hang from the awning which she says is a must when staying at campgrounds.
Happy to give a fellow traveler a nice, quiet, shaded spot to rest for the night before continuing their travels.
quite enjoyed the 2 night visit from this couple.....they both have some unique skills they enjoy during their retirement. I know a lot of artists around my town but she's my first sculptor.....a friendly couple they put up with my chit chat chatter.....and Sadie their choco lab is such a sweet girl....not a noise from her....she loves to just relax and watch the world go by....you'll be glad to host this couple....easygoing...friendly and polite.
Perfect guest, quiet and polite.
An artist with a talent for chiseling sculptures from marble, I learned a lot that I did not know before.
Looking forward to visiting their spot in northern VT.
Easy to find, Easy to access with plenty of options for parking, including the million dollar view. The hosts were gracious and treated us like family from the start. We had a number of conversations about myriad subjects. Both are artists with beautiful cars and carvings that complimented their lovely home. Will request to stay again when in the area.
The perfect start to our Vermont adventure. Cars-n-Carving welcomed us into their woodland retreat, no sounds outside of nature affronted our ears as we let the cares of the world recede. Our dog Niña had a fun off-leash visit with their dog Ambyr, running around the yard while we shared stories of our travels. We hope to see Cars-n-Carvings when they visit Maine thus Summer.
Dick and Nancy were the perfect hosts and their property for boondocking is the perfect setting.
Will definitely visit again.
We contacted Cars n Carving the week we bought our RV, and Dick and Nancy were generous and flexible when we arrived a few hours late from Boston, in Labor Day traffic with our two kids finally kinking our en route. The first night we plugged in to their garage great after the long drive. In the morning we chatted With Nancy and Dick before going out for the day to see family nearby. That night we dry camped in their field and had a relaxing evening with a short hike and campfire... Thankyou Dick and Nancy for hosting our maiden voyage, and first boodockers welcome experience! The Neelys
We stayed with Cars 'n' Carving October 12, 2017. They go way out of their way to make you welcome. We had no trouble parking our 25’ trailer in their meadow although one corner on the way from their house to the meadow required a second try to make it around. Strongly recommend them.
