I am a musician. I play mostly old time, traditional mountain music, and some folk. I use the Creeper Trail a lot to bike ride and walk the dog. I also kayak in the nearby lakes. And I love to travel in my Roadtrek.
This is a farm, so I have to be fairly handy.

Wonderful folks and a great furbaby. We had a very enjoyable, albiet too short of a time sharing stories, music, food and wine. We hope to see them again one day maybe at their great host location next time. Safe travels.
Good communication, minimal needs, no worries with the gentle friendly dog, no problems! Happy they stopped by ;-)
Jim was a delightful guest, hope to see him again sometime -- either here or at his place!
Had Jim here for one night very nice man our visits time was limited because I was recovering from the flu. He and his wife are musicans and sometime like to hear Them work charities and fund raisers. Maybe we can go to their place sometime. He is welcome here anytime.
Loved the scenic drive down the narrow country road to get there! Our hosts were great - friendly and accommodating and we had a nice time visiting and sharing stories and wine on their deck. And the view...doesn’t get much better. Just wish we’d had more time to explore the beautiful area but we were on a time schedule this trip.
The property is a little piece of heaven and the hosts were very welcoming. Just wish our stay could have been longer so we could socialize more. We will be back to visit. Thanks again to the hosts.
Though we didn't get to spend time with FdlGrl due to COVID concerns, we did enjoy a peaceful evening on their lovely property. FdlGrl were gracious hosts, very responsive via text, and recommended a wonderful hike. We hope to revisit when we can spend some time together. Thank you for the hospitality!
LoveLy area and the hosts were hospitable. I enjoyed a beverage on their deck upon arrival. The scenery was awesome. Hope to visit again soon.
We can say without a doubt this is a favorite Boondockers spot. This was not just a space to lay our heads for the night, although the locations beauty is enough in itself to make it a spectacular stay, as well as having the ability for electricity on a cold night. We are always grateful for all of our hosts, but this was by far a most special experience as we were able to form a lasting friendship. Our hosts graciously shared their lives with us by inviting us into their beautiful home with a most breathtaking view. They took the time to talk with us and allow us into their home and hearts. We unfortunately were not able to stay long, but know when we return through the area and if available, we will stay here again and make sure to have more time to enjoy such an amazing stay. We encourage fellow travelers to make this a part of their journey.
I would like to mention that this was one of my more favorite Boondocks. Our hosts we're as musical as they were kind. My wife and I got to do a little jam session and have a little visit with them and listen to them sing some music to us and quitting one of my honestly favorite Sons Wagon Wheel. When we got there it was + 20 by the time we left it was -5 with snow never seen the weather change that much but it was such a beautiful place in a beautiful visit I wouldn't change a bloody thing I would do the same thing all over again. Thank you very much to our host for showing us a good slice of southern hospitality.
Our hill top parking space felt like being in a park.
Lots of tress, quiet peaceful surroundings.
This was just a stopover for use, wish that we had planned to spend a day. Abingdon looks like a nice small town to explore and the Creeper Trail to bike.
Our hosts were very generous sharing about the area.
We will plan a return with more time.
I had a great night with these hosts. They were very hospitable and invited me in for a glass or wine and pizza. The view from their deck is amazing and they are very knowledgeable about the area! I throughly enjoyed my night. Thank you!
We extended our stay to take in the Virginia Creeper Trail (17 miles of gorgeous scenery) and a private concert performed by our gracious hosts. A real highlight to our trip.
Everything about FdlGrl was nice. The location and the views are superb. The hosts are the best. They invited us in their home for wine and cheese. They then proceeded to play music and sing for us. She played the fiddle and he played his one-of-a-kind guitar. My wife and I were greatly impressed by their hospitality. This was my wife's first boondocking experience. Off to a great start!
Wauw, what a spot. The view from the deck great. The hosts are very friendly and helpfull. Like their music and singing. Next time we will go out kayaking with Jim!

My favorite place to boondock yet! Some of the kindest and most generous people you will ever meet. If you're lucky enough to stay with them, you absolutely MUST ask them to play you some music. The fiddle/guitar duo will sooth your soul.
We stayed with FdlGrl & GuitarMan late September 2017. They had just returned from a gig (musician-talk for 'job' - i know because i was one earlier in life) and greeted us warmly. They guided us to some wonderful mountain views, and we actually had a great view from our RV. We enjoyed a guiet, peaceful night - didn't even know we had a herd of deer next to us until we went outside next morning and spooked them !
Okay, i made-up "GuitarMan" as the rules say "Do not include real names". I hope no one is offended.
What we are really looking forward to is catching this couple perform at the Blue Ridge Music Center.
Thanks again for sharing your mountain top !
FldGrl agreed to host us and was very helpful with details. However, our plans changed and we had to get home early and could not stay with FldGrl. We did, however let them know two days in advance that we would not make it. I hope to stay at their place in the future when we are in the Abingdon area.
