We are here from November to April to enjoy the warmer weather. June to September are our travel months. Love explore the country, meeting new people and visiting relatives.
Have two dogs and two cats. One older dog who is shy and a poodle mix who can not hold her licker. Cats stay in the motorhome.

2004 32 foot Class A with two slide outs, 30 amp service. Travel with an older well behaved dog.
We really enjoyed meeting this Boondocker. Had a nice visit when she camped out at our place!
While making our way to Big Bend National Park most of Texas experienced the coldest weather in 40 years. The winter weather caused two Texas State Parks, where we had reservations, to close. We were very fortunate that stickaler was able to accommodate our last minute schedule change. The site was new concrete that more than accommodated our 35’ motorhome. Several restaurants and stores were a short drive away as well as Falcon Lake.
We called the host when we were close and she met us at the road, showed us where to park and offered electric and water. We didn’t need as we’re self-contained. Very peaceful and quiet, away from town and about 1/2 mile to the lake. Would stay here again.
After days stuck in the winter storm in snow and ice outside San Antonio we escaped south to Zapata and heading further south.
Our host graciously accepted our last minute request and came out in the cold to ensure we found the driveway. The parking was on a nice cement pad. Thank you!
In spite of below freezing temperatures for Texas, we enjoyed the warm welcome from our host. Paved double driveway made it easy to level up and get a good night's sleep! Thank you so much
We didn't get much chance to socialize as it was the coldest night of the lethal cold air which swept across the country in February. It was just a phone call, but XXXXX was very accomodating, even though we lost power during the night and pipes froze. I would recommend it if you're in the area.
Great place to park for a couple of nights! Very helpful and sweet ladies. Lots to do in the area even though it was a small town. Very tasty oranges!! Will definitely go back again when I can!
Sheryl was wonderful. She met us outside and made sure we were comfortable. The site was plenty roomy for our 5th wheel and truck. Great place to rest when traveling across south TX.
We had such a wonderful time here. Great location and very friendly host.
Meet us on the road so that we could have an easy arrival. Very friendly and helpful. Have us some fresh oranges off the tree. Great location. Great place to relax.
The space was easy to access and the host was very helpful and welcoming!
Watched for us at road and helped us park. It was 90 degrees when we got there but the breeze was so wonderful! Slept with windows open!! What a treat! Woke to birds chirping in tree next to us. Thank you for a safe place to stay!
Host was gracious and very helpful. This was a perfect place to boondock. Thanks
What a lovely stopping place on my way to the Rio Grande Valley. The host was delightful, and my dog enjoyed making new puppy friends. Thank you!
We enjoyed meeting Cheryl. She was very gracious and was ready for our arrival it was our first boondockers welcome and we were very pleased with our stay. Thanks for the fresh oranges off of your tree
Good stop with stickaler....... a winter Texan. Was offered power, water, and oranges which was a very generous gesture. Thanks for the quiet overnight.
Great host...great stay...very quiet. Watched a lovely sunset over the water. We were treated to freshly picked oranges when we left. We would recommend this host...especially if you’re a dog lover!
We enjoyed our stay and would do it again. We stayed 2 days and found the hosts to be friendly, helpful and accomodating. We were even treated to a dinner with the hosts.
Host came outside, despite the very warm day, to flag us down as we passed by. We were looking for yellow house; it's more white-ish & the garage is a yellowish steel building. It was easy to back into ample driveway after we unhooked our toad. Had a very friendly chat. Our blind dog was given open-arm treatment and welcomed to join host pets in the yard. We were given an armful of fresh-picked grapefruits that proved to be delicious. We also enjoyed a drive around the area, spotting our first-ever glimpse of scaled quails, and had a great dining experience at Z Wings in Zapata.
Nice place and host was great. Host met us out by the road so we did not miss the place. She got us settled into our spot, which was in the yard next to her own class A. Driveway was already taken by another RV'r or that's where we probably would have been asked to park. Host was great and even gave us some fresh grapefruit off their own tree. Spent several hours canoeing on the Falcon Lake Reservoir the next morning and had a great time due to the huge amount of bird life on the lake. Host was nice enough to invite us to go with them to a school concert but unfortunately we had already decided to leave a day early due to weather. We will definitely keep this spot on our radar if we ever happen to be coming through this area again. Thanks so much Stickaler for the great spot.
Great first experience with boondockers. Nice, helpful and knowledgeable hosts.
This was a good stop. Host was helpful. The State park and Point of Entry were relatively close by.
We had a very restful stay overlooking Falcon lake. Enjoyed visiting with our hosts who provided 15 amp electricity for us and sent us on our way with fresh oranges from their tree.
A comfortable spacious spot with Falcon Lake visible in the distance. Beautiful sunset and sunrise. I was only passing through and appreciate the hospitality. Nice folks.
We spent 2 nights here and really enjoyed it. Our hosts were very accommodating and nice. The kids enjoyed playing with the dogs and helping out in the garden. This was just an in between stop as we headed to the coast, but there is a great lake, Falcon Lake, that is great for fishing. Our host also gave us some info for nearby San Ygnacio, but we didn't have the opportunity to visit.
We had a lovely stay a this location. The site was great and easy to find and nice to be able to plug into 30 amp service. Friendly folk and pets. The scent of flowers on the evening breeze was heavenly. Thank you for a nice stay.
Sheryl was enthusiastic even before our arrival suggesting points of interest along the Rio Grande on our trek from South Padre Island. Google maps wasn't accurate in her properties location, a simple phone call and she was outside, spotted us and helped us right into the space on asphalt in front of her garage.
While not directly visible from our location, a short walk provides a great view of the lake and sunset!
Seems like a great spot for a fisher or boater, we loved out visit to San Ygnacio and drive out on Falcon Dam to stand with one foot in the USA and the other in Mexico!
You can always stay here. I am sorry we didn't get your message. My phone died. On our way home from our very long trip. So didn't get your message till I plug ed in my kindle. I am so sorry we missed you!
