We are a "young" retired couple from Calgary, Alberta finally doing our long desired trip to the maritimes provinces and down the east coast of the U.S. in our 23 foot camper van.

We were both born and raised in Calgary and we have three adult children, but no grandchildren, yet. Just a grand dog. Debbie was an elementary school teacher until children raising became a full time responsibility. Warren worked in the oil industry as a landman (negotiator and administrator of surface and mineral rights).

Although not avid travellers over the years we have been to Europe, Israel, Brazil, and Mexico. Within North America we have travelled a lot in Alberta and British Columbia and lesser amounts in most of the western United States.

We have a great appreciation for nature and love to hike and bike. We love the Rocky Mountains in Alberta and BC and know them quite well. We have never been attacked or charged by a bear despite seeing many sometimes up close. In 1976 Warren was involved in a caving accident requiring a rescue and in 1979 both of us were caught in an avalanche that we were very fortunate to survive and we have continued to be fortunate, or maybe just wiser.

Warren has a B.Sc. in environmental biology with a minor in physical geography and is sceptical of human caused climate change catastrophism.

Skills & Expertise to Share

Warren thinks Debbie is an excellent cook. Debbie thinks Warren is very logical and a good problem solver, primarily by trial and error. Warren is not a programmer but is adept at using a computer and keeping abreast of current technology.

Favorite Boondocking Locations

So far we have only boondocked in Walmart parking lots and the occasional visitor centre which does not prohibit over night stays.

WarrenDebbie's Hometown

We live in Calgary, Alberta which is the head office city of most oil and gas companies in Canada. We are 70 miles from Banff and about 30 miles from the nearest mountains. The centre of the city is at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow Rivers. The head waters of the larger Bow R. is the Bow Glacier which can be seen from the scenic Banff-Jasper highway.

We are new to rving. We bought a brand new 2017 Pleasure Way camper van (Mercedes Sprinter chassis and body) last summer but used it for only a few weekends before heading out on our extended journey. We are carrying 2 pedal assist ebikes to assist us in getting around.
