We are a low-key full-timing, married couple traveling the country with two senior dogs. We split our time between a 5th wheel and a Class B Sprinter van depending on the season and terrain. We will typically be boondocking in the the Class B Sprinter van. We are quiet introverts and you will hardly know we are there!
I spent two decades in Federal Service, and almost another decade as a government consultant. My wife volunteered at an animal shelter for 5 years before we became full-time RVrs. We love to travel both domestically and internationally. Hiking and walking are main hobbies.
Harper Lee is a Beagle mix, and Ruthie is a Bassett mix. Harper is always with us, and Ruthie is along about 50% of time. Both are senior citizens.
We love boondocking in National Forests. We mostly stay in state and National parks when we travel. The camper van is especially handy in CCC parks!
I am originally from Southwestern Virginia and my wife is originally from Western New York State. We lived and worked in East Tennessee (primarily Knoxville) for many years. We still consider Knoxville to be our RV base camp, where we return for doctor's, dentist and veterinary visits on a regular schedule.
We switch between 2 RVs - a trailer and a small motorhome. One is a 2016 Keystone Springdale 5th wheel trailer, 33 feet in length, grey with navy blue decals and one slide out. Our truck is a 2009 Ford F350 dually. The trailer is named "Florence" and the truck is named "The Machine." The motorhome is a 2005 Leisure Travel Van, Free Spirit 210, Class B Sprinter camper van with no slides, 22.5 feet. The camper van is named "Lola," and is white with sage green decals. For this type of boondocking we will use the Class B Sprinter van almost all the time.
