I'm an RVer and am always looking for a quick overnight so I figured I can help out others. I live in a rural area with a small pasture and no critters. I keep it mowed and it will work nicely for a short boondock.
I have medium sized mutt (Corgi/Border Collie).
Windsor, CO...North of Denver near Fort Collins.
I have a 2015 Phoenix Cruiser 2552, a 28ft Class C. It has one slide-out. I usually tow a Subaru. No pets :(
MOUNTAINS AND PRAIRIES is a BOONDOCKER'S HOST down in the Ft. Collin's area who wanted to give her young grandson a "taste" of RVing so she arranged a two day stay with us by way of accomplishing that task. Hopefully, he enjoyed himself! We had an interesting arrival conversation comparing notes as BOONDOCKER'S HOSTS! All of the usual complimentary platitudes could be ascribed to MOUNTAINS AND PRAIRIES without question, but she lives them on a daily basis as a HOST. Most welcome to and encouraged to return when we would have more time to chat! Becky & George
Mountains and Prairies was a delight to host. We enjoyed spending our short time together and was sad to see her leave. Cant wait to get out to Colorado to see her again.
During the precursor to the eclipse, we had quite a few rigs on the property and she jumped right into the mix, we got her situated in and then said, walk around and introduce yourself, and poof she was off making friends, we enjoyed hosting and welcome her back. She was quiet to get setup and was very quiet during her stay.
The host is very generous offering $5 a night for 30amps. The area is leveled and on a beautiful field. We saw ducks flying back and fourth every day. The road noise was very mild and did not bother us at all. Our dog had plenty of room to safely play.
Thank you soooo much for your generosity. We felt right at home and well rested on your peaceful property.
The boardwalk Park is 7 min away. We enjoyed biking around the gorgeous lake. Lots of shopping areas in Loveland, Fort Collins and Johnstown!
A nice place to relax. The property is nice and open with beautiful views of the mountains. The host was very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our conversations with her! Would definitely stay there again.
Karla was amazing. Quiet place to lay our head for a few days. Our cat loved watching the chickens. Will be staying here again when passing through.
Host went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable we will be back again
This host is grooviness personified. Thoughtful. Knowledgeable. Interesting. Knows the area super well and shares great info about finding what you need.
CAN’T say enough wonderful things about our stay at Mountains and Prairies!! Can’t wait to stay and play again soon!
We loved our stay here! We had a great spot next to the shed with an afternoon shade. We also had access to 30 amp electricity which was great for some of these 90 degree days. We loved the country feel, but close proximity to shops and restaurants. Our host was very welcoming and super friendly. Would certainly love to stay here again if in the area!
We enjoyed the wide open space and appreciation of a fellow RVer! My daughter liked watching the chickens and seeing fresh eggs, great proximity to 30amp power and a very pleasant host!
Location is a country setting but the suburbs are getting closer. Although Mountains and Prairies was out of town and already had other Boondockers Welcome guests she allowed me to stay in a spot not normally used so I could have electric (having a major electrical issue with my rig). I was able to arrange a meeting with a mobile tech at the Costco a few miles away. Beautiful sunsets and a working farm next door. I am very appreciative of Mountains and Prairies for allowing me to stay. Hopefully I will get to meet her in the future. Thank you.
This host was friendly without being too much so. The spot was perfectly level (!!!) and shaded from the afternoon sun. My puppy enjoyed playing with hers. It’s also not too far from Denver if you want to go in for a day. Would definitely stay again if I’m in the area.
We had a great overnight stay and the hospitality was off the charts. The host provided a true 30 amp hookup and plenty of free area for our dogs to stretch their legs. Thanks again for the eggs.
Our wonderful host was kind and helpful. Even though there were other boondockers at the location we all had separate spaces affording us all our own individual private areas. The host was conscientious and consistently checked in to make sure we had all our questions answered. Follow through was always efficient. Thank you, once again, for your genuine hospitality!!
We really enjoyed our nights here. Close to Fr Collins and Windsor so we were able to explore on bikes. Great parking and we appreciated the power hookup. Thanks!
This 5 star Host provides for a wonderful stay on gorgeous property. The host was welcoming and accommodations are beautiful, private and spacious. I would love to stay here again in my travels.
Absolutely lovely stay at this property. K was extremely kind & welcoming and her property was easy to get in/out of, very spacious acreage, and great proximity to Ft. Collins. We hope to go back!
Karla was right there to show us where to park even helped me get hooked up to electricity. Nice level spot. Lots of room for any size rig to turn around. Got to meet her sweet dog “Guliver” (probably misspelled) and she even let me use her fenced in backyard to let my dogs run and play. She gave me information on where to get my propane tanks refilled. We had to run our furnace because it was really cold and ran out of propane so I unhooked and ran into town for a quick refill. We enjoyed our time at Mountains and Prairies and would definitely stay here again!
Had a great time here. Perfect spot to stay for a couple of nights. Thanks for having us!
Perfect spot for seeing family & Rocky Mountains. Enough room to pull in without unhitching. Beautiful sunrise/sunset. Recommend when in the Windsor area.
it was so nice to be able to stay with someone who was our guest. What a great place. can't wait to see Mt and Prairies again. Luved hanging out.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Mountains and prairies is a wonderful location. Having electricity has been an added bonus during the chilly weather the past few days! Thank you for a fantastic stay!
Easy to find and easy to park and a peaceful place to be. Very considerate host! We weren’t around much but she let us know we were welcome and to let her know if we needed anything Thank you
Very convenient to the major towns like Ft Collins. Enjoyed my stay!
All the superlatives about host Karla and her Mountains and Prairies have already been used.... They are accurate and dependable! Karla was the most responsive host I’ve worked with and her site is very pastoral. My situation and needs became extreme upon arrival, and Karla couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. But for her grace I’d have been in a big jam. So a big THANK YOU, KARLA!
We are so thankful to Mountains and Praries for her kindness and for sharing her beautiful property with us so generously. ❤️
Mountains and Praries was a very gracious host and the location is very nice. Good place to park the camper with lots of room and beautiful views. Our boys loved running around in the huge yard flying kites and planes.
What a great spot! Karla was so helpful getting us in and where to hook up. It’s just beautiful on her property. We wished we’d had a little more time to visit, but maybe next time, and maybe we can visit a local brewery. We enjoyed the view and a nice quiet night’s sleep. Thank you, and enjoy your next trip.
Our host was very personable and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and were treated like family. We would highly recommend staying here and will return in the future.
Thanks so much to Mountains and Prairies for a quiet night, overlooking the pasture. It snowed a little overnight so we had a thin white blanket to look out over at while at the breakfast table. Thanks again for being so generous and being part of the boondocker system.
Boondocker's Welcome restores our faith in humanity every time we use it. Mountains and Prairies weren't home during our visit, and they still made it possible for us to stay while they were gone. We couldn't have asked for a better stay, and we are grateful again to be a part of this community, so that we can associate with such good, and giving people. This is a great spot if you're ever going through Fort Collins, and I would recommend this host to anyone.
This was our second stay with Mountains and Prairies... great location, and wonderful Host. We definitely hope to visit again soon.
I am from Denver and was going to be in the Ft. Collins area for a three-day training class and could not find a hotel for less than $184.00 per night, not counting taxes so I decided to look for campgrounds. My home to Ft. Collins is just one hour and twenty minutes but doing this six times in a weekend did not seem to appealing. So with no luck with the campgrounds, I turned to Boondockers Welcome. Found Mountains and Prairies, twelve minutes away from my training and reached out. I was contacted right away and my stay was accepted. Easily followed directions were sent to me with instructions and pictures about the property and where to park. The stay went off without a hitch. I met the property owner who gave me a tour of their woodworking shop and RV. Very pleasant stay and a great host. I would stay here again if circumstances came up. I wish I could post a picture of the property with an amazing sunset with the Rocky Mountains in the background.
Our host was very easy to communicate with, very accommodating and friendly. The location is terrific and worked great for us. We sure appreciated the opportunity to stay here. Thanks much!
We had a wonderful stay at Mountains and Prairies and what a perfect name. Beautiful views everywhere you look. Thank you so much for sharing your spacious property with us. We would love to come back one day.
Great location, beautiful views. Our Hostess was charming, inviting, and helpful. We'd love to stay with Mountains and Prairies again.
Karla is a perfect host! We were not around much, but the location is excellent, the views are lovely & she was very welcoming & helpful. Look forward to next time!

We stayed a couple of days extra .Thank you Karla for the pastries and the info on the wine we will deffently come back if where in the area our dogs loved the area to run and play
Our first ever stay using the boondockerswelcome site. Our host was prompt with her response. Sadly she was not home but still welcomed us via messages.
Beautiful views of the Rockies. 10 minutes to Fort Collins. Peaceful rural setting with lots of room on the property. Easy access and she also has a 30 amp service available.
Would highly recommend this property and would stay again.
Thank you for your hospitality.
We loved our stay at this location. It's quite and peaceful and we loved the the town of Windsor. Karla is super nice and we were so thankful she allowed us to stay a little while on her land.
Thank you so much for your quick response to our message. Even though we didn't stay with you this time, you made us feel welcome.
