We have a 2015 Leisure Travel Vans Unity Motorhome (25'). We are vacation travelers and get away when we can, generally taking secondary roads and taking time to enjoy the sites and scenery along the way. Our goal is to hit all the lower 48 states in our RV by the end of 2019.
Aside from enjoying the scenery of this amazingly beautiful continent, we enjoy visiting National Parks, campside cooking, photography and hiking. We both love to travel and aside from RV trips...we try to get out of the Continental US every couple of years. We recently acquired Specialized Como e-bikes and an inflatable kayak for taking on the road. Can't wait to use them! When not RVing, we enjoy golf, the Dallas Cowboys (season ticket holder), hosting "Aunt Camp" for our many great nieces and nephews each summer, koi, fly fishing (not in our koi pond!), photography, Netflix marathons, art collecting (mostly modern), cooking, Monarch tagging (when they migrate through Dallas headed to Mexico in the fall) and entertaining friends. I'm currently reading books about each U.S. President (in order of service), and never met a gadget I didn't like. Shannon is more of a creative type, and is resurrecting her interest in acrylic painting and drawing. Needless to say, we have a wide variety of interests!
I'm not handy, so don't expect me to help with mechanical issues. I sure can help figure out who and where to get things repaired though! If you are interested in good restaurants, shopping, attractians, hiking, jogging, dog parks, etc., we can help you out. I've lived in Dallas 35 years and was born in Houston. I can also give advice on best routes to get around DFW.
Yes! We have 3 dogs...a 65# Goldendoodle - Ollie, a 45# Austrailian Labradoodle -
Willie and an Australian Labradoodle puppy, Penny. We also have 2 house cats - Kramer and Pancho. The dogs sometimes travel with us in the RV, but for the rare times we take them, we only take 1 or 2. The cats have no interest in travel.
2016 Leisure Travel Vans Unity Motorhome (25') with 1 slide. Some people refer to it as a Class B+. Occasionally we take our tow vehicle, a 2-dr Jeep Wrangler. When towing, we are 42' overall.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! The neighborhood is so lovely and quiet, and I chose to stay for easy access to the Dallas-Love airport for my travel-mate. It was easy to get ride share (Uber or Lyft) to head downtown for activities. I'm so grateful that my host shared some fabulous advice for RVing and trip planning, which was super helpful as a newbie! What a wonderful experience and my very first time trying Boondocker's Welcome. I would love to stay here again!
Great host with a very nice spot for our 24’ Class C. We were able to reach the 30 amp by pulling all the way up to the flower bed, as instructed. In the morning, we pulled back to reach the faucet to fill out clean water.
Beautiful sculpture on the front lawn and very quiet street made this an ideal stay. Thank you!
This was a perfect site for us while we attended our daughters graduation. Nice quiet neighborhood and fabulous site.
Mary provides a nice, level spot in front of her home to stay. Providing electric, water and WiFi was a nice bonus, we were happy campers staying here! Beautiful, quiet neighborhood close to the city and easy to get to. Very much enjoyed chatting with Mary and meeting her cute new puppy. Thanks again for a great stay!
Very helpful and friiendly hosts, and such a convenient neighborhood. We are in the Dallas area often and we're excited to find this gem.
Just be aware the streets are narrow, so if you come upon a spot with cars parked both sides as we did, you may have to knock on a door and ask for more space to pull thru. I don't think this will happen often though.
We're looking forward to next time!
We had to come to Dallas for business and Meander has wonderful place to stay in a safe and quiet neighborhood.
We just stayed one night, but would love to come back, maybe stay a couple of nights and check out all the wonderful things to do in Dallas!
Thanks a bunch Meander you gave us just what we needed right when we needed it!
Guy and Christa
We had a great experience staying at Meander's place in Dallas. They were great host and so close to everything yet it was very quiet at night. Thank you again so much!
Thanks so much for your generous hospitality.
Sorry we were not able to spend more time 'hang'n' out and getting to know y'all.
Love your "diggs" and all the awesome ART stuff!
In spite of the Canadians trying to freeze us all out... we did survive and thrived! Eh! ;-P
I personally loved making friends with the "kids" ... and consider Pancho a most excellent dude!!!!
BTW: I'll be trying to set up our homestead as a Welcome mat for travelers and if you are in the area, I will expect you to stop by for a nite or 2! What better way to see the "Big Peach" without dealing with the 'Big City' hype!
MARTA is close ... and there is lots of UBER & Lift drivers to get you safely from here to there and back again.
Rating you a 12 out of 10... in spite of the weather!!!
We really enjoyed the Texan hospitality exhibited by [Meander]. We were provided with a very level space off the street on a very quiet side street. Invited in for coffee and conversation, and found we had common interests in art and appreciating the challenges of creating art. We would return again because they were such fine folk.
Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Very helpful and generous regarding our needs. We have had a nice chat with Mary. We also met their two lovely dogs. Wish we have had more time with them at their location. We highly recommend this host.
