Life is a call to exploration and adventure. Since I work remotely as a freelancer, why not?
I sold my house and got rid of all the stuff I somehow accumulated keeping only what I need and that will fit in my Class B. This is truly tiny house living. My dog and cat have joined me on this adventure.
I try to adhere to simple principles: Be kind, Be honest, Practice empathy.
I enjoy meeting other people and hearing about their lives. I look forward to meeting you!
Turns out I have a creative DIY streak. I amazed even myself when I remodeled a very shabby fixer-upper house into a show house. I did most of it myself, learning as I go. The same skills are being applied to my older Pleasure-Way Class B, which I have pretty much ripped apart.
Yes. Both happily landed in my lap. The dog, Batman, was a roadside puppy dump and the cat, Bogart, was found as a kitten in a bramble of bushes. Bogart, the cat and Batman, the dog, a terrier are the same size: 22 lbs. Yep, the cat is a big guy. Although Bogart is big, he is the friendliest, sweetest cat I have ever known. Batman is a good boy but maybe a bit too friendly; all he wants to do is play. ^ ^ () ()
I don't claim a hometown. I was born and raised in a suburb of Dallas but honestly, I couldn't wait to get away. I finally left when I went to college in California and never looked back. I ended up spending most of my life in So Cal with a few residencies in-between in other countries and the last five years in Austin, TX. I hang my hat wherever my van takes me; I am a full-timer.

Our time on the prairie with Lisa was unexpected magic. First off she was flexible with our wonky schedule when we ended up arriving a day or two later than planned. Then we had dinner with her one night and told her about our situation, that we needed to stop in Austin longer so we could get some work/school done. She graciously offered that we stay as long as we needed. In return we offered to help her with some landscaping. Lisa openly communicated to us anytime other boondockers/guests were coming, when she needed anything from us, or just to say hello. We couldn't be more grateful for spending time on Lisa's property. She's a gem!
We stayed with Lisa on February 9&10, originally planning to stay only two nights, we stayed for a third! Beautiful property, level spot, hookup for power and lots of room for our dogs to have a play in her front yard. We explored Austin from here, which made it convenient to unhook our camper and just go. Also, if you stay with Lisa, don't miss Nate's in Buda - really awesome coffee shop / pub, grab a pint or a latte, and indulged in free wifi!
We would definitely stay again, we loved meeting Lisa and Batman!
Very friendly hostess. Easy access to parking. We were able to help her with some of her rev problems and she was most grateful. Would surely stay at her place again
I cannot say enough about Lisa and her property!! She was such a gracious host, one of the most gracious I have met on BW. I am so thankful to have met her and it was a pleasure getting to know her. She is so kind and easy to get along with. At the time I arrived at her location I was feeling under the weather and I couldn't have imagined a better spot to relax and get over my cold. Once I was feeling better she was kind enough to offer to take me out for a night on the town and we had FUN! A memory I will treasure for a long time. We had thoughtful conversations and she has a great fenced yard that she let my dog run around in.
I am thankful to have made a great friend and wish her nothing but the best in her future van journeys. My pup and I miss her!
Enjoy this peaceful location among the cows! ;)
Oclisa treated me like family. She was so kind and offered a lot. Her home site is so peaceful and so close to Austin. I really enjoyed my short stay with her and her cute dog Batman. Thank you so much!
Lisa was a very warm and welcoming host, offering water, electric, and wifi. She even went above and beyond offering us her fenced in yard for our dog to play in, a hot shower, and even said we could do laundry if we wanted! What a kind and generous host! We also got a tour of her new van and found out she wants to do some really cool things to it. It was a pleasure getting to know her!
